Geltor noticed Avin as headed to him a gesyer of water blasted through ground behind him. The water from it flooded the ground and out of it sprung water sprites. They joined the demon army too face off those of Jame's army try out manevuar the demon army. Unseen Geltor was fighting with Seoth for control of the storms. He couldn't sieze control but Seoth clouds were render useless between his undermining and the Purgeing godess's attacks. Inside Geltor a mental battle started. Makroangkeen seethed. Eons of imprisonment, and now he was trapped in the body of another demon. And this one was just strong enough to keep him in check, if barely. "I will destroy you," the ancient said, echoing around the mind that the two shared. Geltor didn't respond. "Listen to me! I will destroy you, like I will destroy everything!" "Silence!" Geltor screamed out. A few of his grunt soldiers jumped in surprise. "I freed you, and you owe me your gratitude!" "I owe you nothing!" Makroangkeen bellowed inside Geltor's mind. "You are tame, playing into the trap of the gods!" Geltor paused. "What do you mean?" "This is one of their stories. A story of redemption that they have enacted many times before. You seek to liberate the souls of hell? As if you think that will atone for the acts of the gods?" Again, Geltor said nothing. "If you do this, you will be as good as one of them! You will rule as they do, and live as they do!" "ENOUGH!!!" Geltor yelled. The grunts closest to him scattered. "I will never be like one of the gods. I will destroy them for what they have done to us!" "And then what? With the gods gone, there will only be you. You see, the only way to truly defeat the gods is to undo the creation that they hold so dear. Only then can we-" "I said, enough!The battle is now we will discuss thsi later." Geltor yelled again, shutting out the ancient's voice. Geltor then turn his attetion too the matter in front of him. I say we open up a new thread and then wait a couple of days for two reasons: 1 To wait and see if their is any possiblity of those files be recovered. 2. Take a break after being hugely disappointed (at least I was) by that we need to take a break/breather. Worst case seneriao we don't find the files Is ay those who were familar make an outline of what happened. One person makes an outline putting everthing they know into it. The next person takes and adds all the detail in it they can. After we finish. We decided wh at ch ange we want to make and how to fill in the gaps. After combination of changeng things we didn't like and filling in the gaps it should it be its own story instead of being the shadow of another. Coutal was walking quickly down an alley way. Joshua "Serena I heard you were killed." Joshua runs up to Coutal. Coutal waits till Joshua reachs him. Joshua What... Coutal launchs himself at Joshua at the same time pulling out his daggers. Joshua seizes Coutal's arm only for it disolve in his grip. Coutal's dagger falls to the ground makeing a clanking noise. Joshua draws his sword and with pure rage he turns to strike Coutal down but only hits air. Coutal is not to be seen. Joshua "Where are you Demon? I should warn you I'm know as the demon hunter. You have killed you last person and seen your last sunrise." A pebble fell off a building and Josuha blasts it with a powerful bolt of energy causeing the nearby building to collaspe. Suddenly he feels a sharp pain in his side and falls to his knees. He regains his footing and turns around and Coutal had already hidden himself. Joshua "Come out demon show yourself and face your death with dignity" In anger Joshua stars blasting the near by buildings causing several to collapse. Coutal takes the oppurtunity to launchs himself at Joshua. However Joshua is prepapred and is 20 feet up when Coutal reachs where he was and Joshua comes down on him with his sword drawn. He seizes Coutal by throat and pins him against the ground and stabs Coutal through the belly. Coutal Gets leverage with his legs and manages to kick Joshua off him, smashing him through the wall. Both combats rise to their feet as fast as possible. Joshua gets over to Coutal with suprising speed and is on top of him in a moment. His hand glows with the energy of a spell ready to blast Coutal into an oblivioan. A large blast rolls through the area nocking most people off their feet formed by the air beign displaced by the portal. Joshua turns to look at what it was and when he looks back Coutal is gone. Joshua I'll get you Coutal either now or later He decided its time to meet back up with Minko and headed off. --------------back at the town square------------- A portal had open up and the demons marched out into town square in an unusually ordered fashion --------------Back at Geltor's base--------------- Geltor is geting ready to step through the gate he makes one last look at his base. He takes a look at his demon orb the one James gave it him. Geltor "intresting this orb has been tampered with. I'll leave it here" Geltor summons a sword one side elemental flame and the other elmental water. Demonstrating his mastery of water as well as fire. Coutal was sitting with his back leaning against the wall in the dark tunnel. He had tended to his wounds and used heal spells. He lost his arm and only Geltor would be ablt to help him their and when Geltor showed up it be a full scale battle and not have the time no inlcination to do a time comsuming heal spell. No Coutal thought back to his battle with Sernea and remember how her wounds seemed to fill in them selfs. The wounds still exist but she replaced the missing flesh with demonic energy. "Prehaps I could do the same" Coutal fortunaly remember to taste her essences and drew on her knowledge of magic to form an arm. After a few failed attempts with the arm of dark energy disentrgating he seem to get something he could mantian it wasn't as fast or strong as his old arm. Prehaps in time it could but that was time he didn't have. He took on the guise of Sernea and steped out into the patheon and went to the demon altar. The room darkens momentiarly but then light returns to normal and on it lay a pair of daggers damage. Coutal could sense the daggers were embued with a decaying flesh spell. A wound from these daggers would resists all put the most powerful healing spells and even then it would only heal it gradually. Coutal picked up the daggers his arm of demon magic waivered for a moment but Coutal regain control and walked down a hall. A god might know who he was but a mage or even a high ranking demon would think he was Serena. This was made easier due to the fact in life she reeked of demon magic. Its a desolate waste land that will occosnaily churn out the occosianal demon about every few months or so. Nothing that invade your plotline. It can be used by anyone. Well although I now reget doing it; this was the seneraio I had in mind when makeing Geltor overpowered. If you still think Geltor has the short end of the stick we could add a couple of assiting npc gods if you would like. edit: Seoth wouldn't have to go at it immieditanly it would just need to consume all of his attetion for the whole of the battle. After Seoth head out side, Coutal and Vertan emerge out of a hiden panel in the floor. It was contructed years ago by Makroangkeen to allow use of the altar without haveing to requrie him to bring attetion too his followers. Coutal hisses under his breath "Hurry up with this" Vertan approaches the altar a black obsidan knife forms out of the altar Vertan picks it up and hold the blade to his hand. He pauses for a second to think about what he was doing. Him and his family were like so many other humans victims of the gods petty squables. Their greed, jealously, selfishness, and whims ravage human kind. He thought to himself Were demons the answer? It was true that demons had all the bad qualties that most of the gods exhibited demons had 10 fold. However all demons to date had been created in hell or desecend from hell and a 1000 or so years in hell could make someone a bit grouchy. Also demons would not have existed had the gods not performed the abominal act of dening souls to their after life. Instead dooming them to an enterity of torture. Their was more to it then that however. So far all those who had been demons had never consicully chose to be demons and that curse them with their treachery. He be the first demon that would at the very least be no more treachours then your average human. His pause was over he made up his mind. Coutal was behind him trying to get him to hurry. He denouched the gods and he cut his palm. As the first drop of blood hits the altar. A black aura surrounds him and he is lifted off the floor by an invisble force. Out of the altar a beam of dark enrgy comes out of the altar and hits Vertan in the forehead which is asorbed by Vertan. He is set back down on t he ground his eyes a pure black and aura of darkness surrounds him slowly the aura fades and his eyes go back to normal but he is still very much a demon. On the altar laid a sword on it was engraved the demon word and rune for godslayer. He picked up the sword unsheath it mometiarly to look at then sheath it and put it on his belt. The first thing he vowed to due was to free the demons and damed souls from hell, not to come to this world or to another but to the afterlife that the gods wrongily denied them. Then he vowed to himself to make the gods pay for that mistake. He left Coutal standing their stunned wondering what to do. He left the temple and left the city as well. The comnine disraction of a plague of rabbits and rumors of demons made leaveing easy. Back at he altar Coutal relaizes what had happened and warns Geltor. Geltor simply repsoneded with "I planned it that way." Coutal not haveing any orders hides in the hidden tunnel and tends too his wounds. ----------------back at Geltor's base------------- The portal was finally complete his army labored for a month to complete it. True it would take him to hell if he wanted it too. It take him and his army where ever he wanted as long as he recasted his enchantments. It however was a oneway portal and true he could make a flame portal on the spot if he need too. It much to slow if things soured. He was like all demons confident they could win. He reliazied this as a failing which is why he made the new demon. Geltor stood up from his throne, his army was standing waiting to march into the portal his 4 demon assiasions at the head of their division, all of which drilled them on how to handle enemies who were illusions, Geltor himslf had a few nasty suprises for all the seneriaos he could think of and then some, all that was left for him to do was to enchant the portal. Geltor started chanting and the portal started glowing. I live in Baton Rouge, Lousiana and though all we get from hurricanes is minor wind damage and power outages, We get swamped with the unfortunate people whos area did get a bit more damage from the hurricanes. We have gotten people from New orlanes for Katrina and the year before traffic was jamed for days on end when everyone was evactuating Flordia due to a series of hurricanes. I can confidently say that compared too private chairties and even just individauls just show up to volunteer are far more effective then Fema. Coutal arrives into the patheon limping maintian the guise of Sernea. Her lore in dark magic would be quite useful to him. However Coutal could feel a battle a large one and in his injured state he was not sure he could survie it. After spoting Vertan in the shadows and Soradin heading to the demon alter. Coutal decides that Vertan is safe for now and goes to catch up with Soradin to find out what is going on. Soradin "You are loseing your touch Coutal, You should have beaten her easily but you go cocky." Coutal "Easy for you to say. Besides did you catch that stuiped rabbit?" Soradin "Ah yes it was not hard to find but hard to catch." Coutal "Yes I find that mental image humrous but why is Geltor instrested in a rabbit, even a demon one? Soradin " The rabbit was made by the demon altar and it had some things didn't go the way Geltor planned so he ordered me to catch the rabbit so he could figure out how fix the altart." Coutal "Nothing seems to be wrong with..." Soradin "That is little of your concern head back to your charge and wait for Geltor to contact you." Coutal limps back to part of the patheon Vertan was hideing. Soradin approachs the alter. Soradin "Honey I home." Geltor appears before Soradin. Geltor "You were succesful, I take it? Soradin "As allways." Soradin pulls the rabbit out of his cloack subdued and hands it too Geltor. Geltor "Go out and examine what forces the gods around here have. Avoid the acutal gods however. If you meet an enemy you can kill do so." Soradin "Of course" Soradin rushes out of the patheon in blinding speed and takes the form of a bunny and joins the nearest hoard of rabbits he can find. Geltor examines the rabbit for a couple of mintues. The tosses the bunny off to side muttering to him self "Clever, should have though of that." Then Geltor approachs the demon altar and engraves a series of anti mind control runes on the altar. What ever god forced to the rabbit to beceoma demon must have bent the rabbit's will to hate the gods for the altar to turn into a demon. Other wise it would not have worked. The anit mind control runes would prevent that. His work finshed he sends a mental message to coutal that every thing is ready and teleports back to his base to gather his army. Tricking one of the intitates to put poison in the preist food was easy. What confused Soradin was the God of Fertility's reaction to the death of his preist. The hoard of rabbits the sprung up were ever he had an alter was strange. Although the plague of rabbits might be benfical Soradin was sure and went back to Geltor's base. -----------back at the Demon Camp----------------- Geltor "What you have told me is very strange. They could be benficial however previous encouters have taught me that whatever harmless apperance that something has can be decieveing it may be nothing but watch them carefully. However a god forced a rabbit to become a demon useing the demon altar. That was not suppose to happen. You are to retreive the rabbit so I can examine it. The new path to demon I creat must be completly volunatery." Soradin "What about the gods in kirwood? Surely the would notice me and make good on their vows to destroy me." Geltor "I will give them bigger things to worry about then you." Soradin bow out and disappear into a *flame portal*. -------------------------------------------------- Coutal "So you came after all." Vertan "I found what said about the gods intruiging as well as what you said about this altar." Coutal "Then I take it you will come to the altar with me" Vertan "Why not, my time with the gods end long ago." The two gather their stuff and head out of the pub. -----------------The pub's cellar----------------- A candle flared up and out of it came Soradin. Soradin left th e pub quickly before the people relazied what he was. He went outside and noticed one of the bunnies. Soradin killed one took on its form and headed to the nearby kirwood. me and lone flame are planning an up comeing battle. I plan on useing it as a plot device to banish Geltor/Makroangkeen. Since the general consensus is they are overpowered I don't expect to many complaints. The banishment is long term and possibly permenant and will only be brought back when the general consensus thinks its a good idea to bring him back. P.S. Be able to make a better argument would go along more of the lines of being experinced. The main problem I have with elitism is the sense of entilment that comes with it. along the lines of 'I have been here for ages that makes me right and you' wrong mindset. Thier is nothing wrong with being a vetern or being sure of your self but ignoring or flameing someone becuase they are new instead of their arugment or ideas is not a good thing. I sense a flame war. The arrogance that comes with elitism can be quite annoying it often causes people to dismiss other arugments out of hand without even looking at it. I also find out that when playing against someone with this sense of elitism I have beaten people who I should not have been able to beat. Another problem with the term is that people use it because they are sore losers. If some one can't win an arugment they often use the term elitism to hide their failures. I pefer not to use such terms and ignore them when I see them. I pefer fire and magic. I use magic for hevy hitting and I have a fire in case of a long duration battle which would drain the energy of magic creations. Fire also doubles for melee. If only geting flamed worried any more. I have seen it be fore in games. Where the resource files were sperate for the game engine. Admitly the makers of the game came half way when it came to editing as the posted a rudimenry guide and evinventuall some editors were produced. I find complaining/whining/debateing with out haveing a plan to change said problems. How are you going to convince 300 million americans the change their spending habits so that they arne't as wasteful? Not saying we shouldn't change but honestly how many people can honestly say they could resist the temptation to spend extranvently? Every anceint superpower has demonstrated the problems the U.S. has now. Sure the US is being extremly wasteful in its resources and that will proably be the death of it unless we get our act togehter.
