If I'm reading correctly, you opened up the BoA scenario editor (which opened fine), created a scenario (setting its name, outdoor size, etc.), which also worked. The crash only came when you tried to load the scenario. I highly doubt you were using the Mac Editor; the Editor wouldn't have opened in the first place. Presumably this isn't a one time thing, so maybe try reloading the editor. If redownloading the editor doesn't work, maybe try the 3D Editor(pick 'Win3DRelease.zip). -------------------- Out to lunch. If not back by five, out for dinner also. Yeah, it would be an honour system regardless. Though how would beta-testing be done? By SoT: quote:I do agree with your point that the Bible isn't exhaustive, but Ecclesia reformata semper reformanda est secundu Verbum Dei actually says the opposite of what you said in the previous paragraphs: a Reformed church must always be correcting itself to return to the Bible. I can beta-test if you need me (dintiradan AT yahoo DOT ca; Vista). I may not get to playing the scenario itself tonight, but I'll be able to run the scripts through astring and check for spelling/grammar with Word. Can't help with the Mac conversion (Though I may know someone who can. :P ). If blades.nethergate.net can't do the usual hosting, I suppose I can throw something up on my Freewebs... that's suboptimal, though. -------------------- I bought some batteries, but they weren't included - so I had to buy them again. - Steven Wright [ Tuesday, July 10, 2007 13:05: Message edited by: Dintiradan ] Posts: 1509 | Registered: Tuesday, January 10 2006 08:00 |

So, I'm assuming it's basic NaNoWriMo-esque rules: you can plan ahead, but no material written beforehand can be used verbatim. Would sketching out towns and outdoors on paper beforehand be acceptable? What about custom graphics? Do they have to be made in one day too? -------------------- When I was a little kid we had a sand box. It was a quicksand box. Thing is, Diki's trying to establish just that: is trusting a doctor's advice under several different scenarios the best thing for your health? (And just because the situations don't match the experience you've talked about doesn't stop them from being "real-world questions". I've never met a doctor exactly like Diki's descriptions, but I can at least draw parallels.) -------------------- Today I dialed a wrong number... Our worldview should be in a constant state of discarding spurious ideas. Every new concept entering our mind should be met with the following test: Does it directly apply to concrete facts, to the here and now? If not, does it deal with an abstract theory that itself is directly applicable to the here and now? If it does neither, the idea must not even enter out minds, for it is nothing more than purposeless reasoning. - Transcript of a guest lecturer’s speech Zsarim Academy of Thought Three Hundred Eighty Two Years before Present Day Does your test pass the test? - Comment scrawled in the margin Date and author unknown -------------------- “Are you one of the new gods?” The query caught Ashataro off guard. “I was going to ask you the same question.” The armour clad figure peered back for a moment before turning to his work, his back to Ashataro. War deities like this one – Ashataro guessed this one had a martial focus from the scale armour and strange scythe-like weapon – made him uncomfortable. A bad experience nearly a century ago had taught him to be cautious around the temperamental beings, and he had been thinking about the best way to break the other’s solitude before it noticed him and asked the strange question. After a few moments of silence, Ashataro walked towards the other god, maintaining a wide berth and keeping a watchful eye on its weapon. “Are you saying you are one of the ancient gods, then?” Supposedly, Kirwood held an ancient deity that kept watch over the floodplains of Array, but his attempts to track it down a number of years ago had failed – if it had existed at all. Strangely enough, Burrard had denied Ashataro any assistance in the matter. “I am,” the other god responded, deep voice echoing loudly within the steel helm (Ashataro tentatively catalogued the deity as male). “I have slumbered long, but it is time that I return to tend to Joth. And beyond.” “Fascinating,” Ashataro replied, stepping to the other god’s side. “So why have you... returned, then?” With a tsk of annoyance, the other deity spun to face him. “Why must you petty gods hound me so? This is not as easy as it looks-“ His words were interrupted as a tremor shook the ground beneath them. Ashataro lost his balance, but the other god merely turned to face the centre of the city. “Were the candles and shades not enough, my friend?” he spoke, softly this time. “Must you also bring demons and hellfire into my domain?” Without looking back, he addressed Ashataro, who was brushing grit off his overcoat. “It seems we must join the fray.” “What friend is this?” Ashataro rejoined, somewhat crossly. He didn’t have much pride, but the ‘petty’ description rankled. “Wait – you said ‘we’. I am no fighter, and how do you propose ‘we’ travel to the-“ With a resounding crack, the ledge they were standing on split away from the rest of the spire, and began to soar towards the centre of Kirwood at a much faster speed than the other floating blocks of stone. The armoured god stood and stared at their destination, his face and emotions concealed by his steel helmet. Ashataro hung on for dear life. Posts: 1509 | Registered: Tuesday, January 10 2006 08:00 |

I was going to point you to the Wikibook, but then I realized that it's not hyperlinked like it used to be. How long has this been the case? Anyway, the call you're looking for is 'move_to_new_town'. It's in the form move_to_new_town(int TOWN_NUMBER, int X-COORDINATE, int Y-COORDINATE). So, for example, say you placed a special rectangle over the stairs, giving it state eleven. Then put the following in that town's script to move the party to a new town:(In this example, you'd be moving the party to (36, 39) in town 5. -------------------- I'm paranoid. Well, I didn't intend my list to include everything (and I don't consider scatalogical references to be a big deal - I just don't get why they're used out of context. I've used crap and other words that the autocensor will catch quite often before... when I'm working with compost or emptying a septic tank). I suppose the problem arises from the difference between the prescriptive and descriptive viewpoints. Personally, I'd wonder why a NCO would keep talking about sex when he wanted us to clean up a barracks - which is why I'd be a poor fit for the military. :P -------------------- There's a pizza place near where I live that sells only slices. Ah, makes sense now (though the screenshots page still lists Vahkohs as the villain ;) ). It'll be interesting to see how Dorikas and his lackeys fight in this one. Presumably, having all of his forts sacked in Avernum 4 would have a bad effect on his power base.
