Originally by Taliesin: quote:Ick. Dikiyoba found it to be far worse. Okay, sure, the brother and villagers subplot was fairly interesting. But it just serves to highlight the book's problem--anything involving Eragon was either really, really boring (and the elves had to be the worst offenders) or horribly contrived. -------------------- Episode 4: Spiderweb Reloaded Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

Schrodinger's walkthrough says there is one in Maker’s End on Gull Island and another in Benerii-Eo Vat Core on the Isle of Spears. It also looks like Khyryk can train you in it as well. Look, could you stop with all the disparaging spam in this thread please? Dikiyoba finds it irritating because it looks like you're being disruptive for disruption's sake, or just as a way to boost your post count. If you have a reason why this thread bothers you and you can't just stop paying attention to it, then state it--Dikiyoba is all ears. But please stop posting comments like "Spam + You guys + UBB = Broken Forums.", okay? -------------------- Episode 4: Spiderweb Reloaded Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

Originally by the Ripper: quote:I definitely agree that Shapers are engaging in genetic engineering. I guess my point is that they go about it very differently than we do. Shapers live in a world of essence and magic, not DNA, cells, and radiation. Our way of thinking about how shaping could work is probably radically different than a Shaper would see it. 1. I like reading novels. (Mostly fantasy, mystery, sci-fi). Unfortunately, I don't have as much time to read as I would like. And it's been a very long time since I've read one I really, really liked. 2. Isn't there some saying about mediocre books making good movies and good books making mediocre movies? I'm going to assume that's generally true, because I tend not to watch movies very often. 3. Why? Dikiyoba. -------------------- Episode 4: Spiderweb Reloaded Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

Hmm. Choosing to strongly disagree with every question results in (0.00, -4.36) while choosing to stongly agree with every question results in (0.00, 4.36). Disagreeing with everything results in (-0.25, -2.41) while agreeing with everything results in (0.38, 2.41). Yes, Dikiyoba was bored. -------------------- Episode 4: Spiderweb Reloaded Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

Originally by Nalyd: quote:Judging by the PC's reaction to those magical microscopes in every game and a book in G2 (the one in Drypeak), Shapers don't know about the existence of DNA or even cells. (I have no idea how much they understand of heredity--probably not a whole lot.) I don't think they'd know what a zygote is. They'd need a more-developed creation to experiment with. 1. My immediate family isn't responsible for the turkey. We bring the appetizers. The bean dip is most definitely a 5. 2. Cranberry sauce is pretty good, though I don't associate it with Thanksgiving as much as I associate it with canned green beans and the rule that every dinner must include a fruit and vegetable. 3. Yes, but there are always desserts I like more like blackberry cobbler, cinnamon muffins, cream cheese brownies, and cherry cheesecake. 4. I have absolutely no idea what happens to the turkey neck. 5. I hate it. Sorry. 6. A Connect Four tournament. But since Dikiyoba won't be going home for Thanksgiving this year, a lot of this won't actually apply. Or maybe it might. Dikiyoba doesn't know what Thanksgiving Day will be like this time around. -------------------- Episode 4: Spiderweb Reloaded Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

quote:A. They have. It's just been a very slow progression, otherwise magicians would end up being walking WMDs. For instance, Ephesos learned Return Life in Episode 3. B. I don't understand what you mean. What exactly are you expecting? Some history? Character development? More description? A different tone? Something else? C. There are defenses. We haven't seen them yet, but they're there. Dikiyoba. -------------------- Episode 4: Spiderweb Reloaded Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

Do you have Klinger with you? If so, you need to head straight for the city hall to talk with the mayor. If not, Klinger is in the jail of Vikida and you need to go rescue him before the plot can advance. Dikiyoba doesn't pay much attention to the Agent/Infiltrator, so Dikiyoba can't help you much. But if you want the full magic-wielding experience, stay away from the first Geneforge for now. It has far fewer spells and is therefore more difficult to play. -------------------- Episode 4: Spiderweb Reloaded Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

It's been so long since I've played some of these scenario that I no longer remember who the villains are. Oh well. At least it made voting easier. Oh, and Dikiyoba's vote goes mainly to the Prize. Its fascinating backstory, fleshed-out motives, and ability to garner sympathy while still being pure evil surely make it one of the best BoA villians of all time. :P -------------------- Episode 4: Spiderweb Reloaded Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

As far as the bridge goes, just sell something so you do have enough coins or use the character editor to give yourself enough coins, whichever is easier. Dikiyoba can't help with the other question, though. -------------------- Episode 4: Spiderweb Reloaded Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |
