And I, Thuryl, was referring to Slasher's remark. Note post times. I am well aware that Rosy is, if anything, the very embodiment of the word affable. -------------------- I like to say quack because I can, I like to say moooo because I can, but I don't like saying ergle flmp because I can never pronounce phenomenon first try. It's pretty good. Flying would be cool. Being omnipotent would be better. Indeed spy.there, that IS normal for Alorael. Okay Stugie, I'll stick to my honey badgers and big pointy sticks. Though I thought your deal was ferrets, not weasels... Top useless fact of the day: a honey badger has a very special adaptation - it is the only type of badger in the world that can rotate it's head 180 degrees. Normally the back of the neck is the ONLY safe place to hold a badger safely. With a honey badger... don't even THINK about it. -------------------- I like to say quack because I can, I like to say moooo because I can, but I don't like saying ergle flmp because I can never pronounce phenomenon first try. Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do about this. Look on the bright side, it could be much worse; I remember one person managed (in E2) to start to deactivate the mass portal, thing was that they hadn't got the ritual to close it. End result: oopsie. However, you do only have to do two out of the four first plagues to win the game. Slimes or roaches, then troglos and giants or golems. First one will let you in Sharimik, Lorelei and Gale. Second, Blackcrag. Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

No Alec, sophistry, or sophism, is merely a plausibly deceptive fallacy. It pertains more to the reasoning than the preaching, but still. I play whatever part seems to be the hardest, yet still within my abilities. Generally I do tend to end up as the devil's advocate, or at least playing the argument. It gets very boring otherwise. I don't have many opinions, very, very few in fact. Some people's reactions are extremely amusing... But nonetheless, I tend to tire after a while of it. Good game. Play you again sometime. Kel, two things, WHEN did I use the present tense? You didn't make that clear. Secondly, it is possible. It's just the resources required to make it work would be inordinately large for it to have any overall benefit. AM, no, I just pride myself on me, when I say something that is of my own design, being right about it. Besides, if no-one took up the argument, then you would believe without thinking. You may still do, but there's a chance. -------------------- I like to say quack because I can, I like to say moooo because I can, but I don't like saying ergle flmp because I can never pronounce phenomenon first try. There's a Canadian honey that's white... But, Alorael, if you insist: "Ah Carmella! You grow more beautiful by the day!" "That is because I am decomposing, Franco." "And the lovely perfume?" Sure... we believe you Zephyr. Honest. (BTW, why'd they can you?) So... challenge accepted eh... (nothing for it) Break out the cases! Weasels at dawn, it is sir! Let me just get Gunther, and then we'll show you... If you have small children attached to you that aren't yours, and you want them to go away, can I suggest the following method: firstly, shout "look _insert small child's/ren name here_! There's large quantities of sugar-coated food over there!" (pointing in some random direction away from you). Secondly, RUN AWAY  . And to retain some semblance of on-topicness, being able to play a musical instrument would probably be good. ANYTHING (and I mean anything) would be better than my current musical skills (less than nothing). Alec, WHAT is your deal with baroque writing forms? -------------------- I like to say quack because I can, I like to say moooo because I can, but I don't like saying ergle flmp because I can never pronounce phenomenon first try. Y'know, I come back after a time to find this... well, I wouldn't be bothering except for AM being a self-righteous prig. So I am. Well FYI people, every dang thing in this topic that I have "politely discussed" is not my viewpoint. I just argue it. I don't believe in anarchy as a form of governance. I don't believe in a form of governance that makes things too predictable. It's just no fun. I have the motivation to move worlds. If I knew what to do with it... then I would know. But I don't. Also two last and VERY final things I have to say in this topic, 1) TARD, Asimov did write a series of books and short stories with something similar. You overlook, however, that Asimov wrote SCIENCE FICTION, meaning that at the time it was written it was a scientific possibility. If you know of some research that invalidates this theory conclusively, then sure thing, whine all you want. 2) I have, hand on heart, NEVER pirated software, nor been involved in the production of conterfeit software. But only because neither I, nor any of my friends own a burner. YEAH, we all believe you Alec, don't we? -------------------- I like to say quack because I can, I like to say moooo because I can, but I don't like saying ergle flmp because I can never pronounce phenomenon first try. Hehehe... *Runs off* "Mommy! Mommy! What's a tentacle??" No, anyway, seriously, I would agree that unless it is explicit, there's nothing wrong with a bit of "as the actress said to the bishop..." humour (or serious in SOME cases). -------------------- Aut Tace Aut Loquere Meliora Silencio Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

Ah, but of course it would have to be immortality for a start - if you've got forever then you can do anything. I would indeed like my own army. I would, of course, try to actually inspire SOME loyalty in them. Anyone who can't be loyal can be paid. Thirdly, I would like some answers to my questions. Not your "hint hint" kind of answer, but something I am actually going to understand - something like, 30 feet tall in big flaming letters with words of no more than one syllable. And in English at that. And if Liam The-supposed-conqueror gets any more poncy, I'm bringing out the weasels... -------------------- I like to say quack because I can, I like to say moooo because I can, but I don't like saying ergle flmp because I can never pronounce phenomenon first try. Hmmm... this is extremely amusing... nice mix'n'match job too... whatever. I was pretty sure it was Rumsfeld, I know that one of his (Bush) real, main advisors is and many other members of the Republican party are... then again it was supposed to be an idle, not-that-serious comment. I suppose it would help if I could be angry against anyone. But I can't and so the immense irony is key. And so is extremely amusing. -------------------- I like to say quack because I can, I like to say moooo because I can, but I don't like saying ergle flmp because I can never pronounce phenomenon first try. No, you mis-read. Humans behave in ways that are human. Doesn't matter how odd it might seem, it is still in the human "behavioural pattern". The average human cannot behave outside this pattern as it does not have the core imagination to behave otherwise. There is an infintesimal number of humans that are capable of "new behaviour". Of these, few do. Therefore, taking into account this and the individual "temperament" (not the word but it'll do), it is possible to create a method of predicting someone's behaviour that will work 99.9999% of the time. There, of course, would be VERY exceptional cases where this would not work. No system is perfect. But it would work well enough to predict individual behaviour. Eventually, it could be adapted to larger numbers - "group behaviour". In fact, if you know anything about "mob psychology", it would become easier as more people were included. There would be more sets of stats to take into account but even then it is very possible. -------------------- I like to say quack because I can, I like to say moooo because I can, but I don't like saying ergle flmp because I can never pronounce phenomenon first try. (How did I know?) Kel.... whatever. I am no fool. I have exceedingly good VERBAL skills. I know exactly what I am doing. It does not need any revolution. I, verbally speaking, have exceedingly good orational skills. I have my plan. I will go through with my plan. This is real life. Not theory nor in potentia. I know the odds. I know the bet. And there is nothing you can say that will swerve me one inch from my path. I cannot convince you with any ease. But I will not be changed. And I will prevail. In the end I shall either be right or wrong. I will either win or crash and burn. This is where my belief is important. This IS my belief. Possibly... probably just got a bit too enthused about himself though. I saw the clip on the news when it happened (must have been three months ago, why bring it up now?), he probably went for some mad war cry to bring a cheer from the crowd, instead ending up with a dieing horse impression and everyone laughing at him. It is also blamed for him losing the presedential contender spot. -------------------- I like to say quack because I can, I like to say moooo because I can, but I don't like saying ergle flmp because I can never pronounce phenomenon first try. Actually with car that I saw, it was a simple matter of filling it up with water and all it would emit is oxygen. Don't know how and if explained to me probably still wouldn't. I do, however, know of experiments to make it extremely efficent. The most efficent vehicle I saw was a one-man vehicle, which on 50mls of water could go for 30 miles. Plain old tap water aswell. -------------------- I like to say quack because I can, I like to say moooo because I can, but I don't like saying ergle flmp because I can never pronounce phenomenon first try. Ah, hate to burst your bubble Alec, but they are already making hydrogen cars I'm not sure of the exact specs of the one I saw the other day, but it was 30K AND very much hydrogen run. When I saw hydrogen, I, of course, mean water. The best thing for them to do from this is two things, one, adapt it to work with sea water or suchlike, bejaysus knows we've got plenty of that! Two, make it work on a larger power-generating scale. The only reason we today aren't using it, is because of many decades of resistance from the energy conglomerates, especially the oil business.
