I think that Lazarus won't mind if I also help test another scenario. Therefore: Email: chniwe(at)hotmail(dot)com OS: Mac OS 10.3.9 I would also be happy to create a .cmg file for the mac version of the scenario. -------------------- Überraschung des Dosenöffners! Bad news: The .cmg file is scrambled. I'm guessing that you uncompressed it on your pc, which destroyed the resource fork. Also, it needs to be named Dilecia.cmg, not Images.cmg. EDIT: I recommend that you let one of us mac users put the cmg file into the scenario and give you the whole compressed bundle. Alternately, we distribute the cmg file separately until the final version, so that it will be easier for you to make changes to the other files. If you look very closely in the editor, you will find that the section of wall 2 steps south of the unopenable door is breakable. A simple move mountains, a diagonal step from the top of the stairs, walk through one ordinary door, and you're in Rhentar's room. Then enjoy the fight. -------------------- Überraschung des Dosenöffners! "On guard, you musty sofa!" Posts: 627 | Registered: Monday, March 7 2005 08:00 |

Closing the doors doesn't just slow them down; it also gives you warning. When you hear a door opening sound and you know that you didn't just open a door it's harder for the monsters to take you by surprise. I found this very useful in towns that spawn more wandering monsters. -------------------- Überraschung des Dosenöffners! "On guard, you musty sofa!" I was recently depressed to find out that a friend of mine who is an art major offered the provide art for spiderweb, even just donating it, since he is only a student. They didn't tell him that his art wasn't the type or style they were looking for; they told him they don't need any art. Period. Insane or what? -------------------- Überraschung des Dosenöffners! I believe that part of the explanation given was that the falling counter weight was able to follow a straighter path to the ground as the trebuchet moved. This makes some sense as the falling weight would then waste less energy trying the whole trebuchet horizontally. This would also hopefully alleviate the problems that Student of Trinity encountered with self destruction. -------------------- Überraschung des Dosenöffners! "On guard, you musty sofa!" Since I have as yet no element, can I be Niobium? Niobium takes on a bluish color, and is used in a variety of places from jet engines and rockets to nuclear power-plants. While mostly an unexceptional transition metal, it stands out for being the highest temperature elemental superconductor, so it can be used for super powerful magnets and other such cool high tech things which I find fascinating. -------------------- Überraschung des Dosenöffners! One thing that I have had to use the two flag method for is storing tick numbers when I can't be sure that the party will stay in the town or outdoor section that uses the tick number. -------------------- Überraschung des Dosenöffners! You place the text file into the scripts folder, where it entirely replaces the z60monasterdlg.txt file, which is the file that you should back up your original copy of. -------------------- Überraschung des Dosenöffners! Neutral Good Half-Elf Mage Fighter Alignment: Neutral Good characters believe in the power of good above all else. They will work to make the world a better place, and will do whatever is necessary to bring that about, whether it goes for or against whatever is considered 'normal'. Race: Half-Elves are a cross between a human and an elf. They are smaller, like their elven ancestors, but have a much shorter lifespan. They are sometimes looked down upon as half-breeds, but this is rare. They have both the curious drive of humans and the patience of elves. Primary Class: Mages harness the magical energies for their own use. Spells, spell books, and long hours in the library are their loves. While often not physically strong, their mental talents can make up for this. Secondary Class: Fighters are the warriors. They use weapons to accomplish their goals. This isn't to say that they aren't intelligent, but that they do, in fact, believe that violence is frequently the answer. You can use char_loc_x(get_target()) and char_loc_y(get_target()) to find out the x and y coordinates of the target. I would recommend that you just have it check its target just before shooting fields to make sure that it is really aiming at a magic user. I have myself encountered some weird targeting difficulties, such as creatures temporarily targeting themselves. You can get around this kind of problem pretty well by storing the target in a variable of your own and making sure that the creature continues targeting the same target by using set_target to reset the target to your stored value. -------------------- Überraschung des Dosenöffners! I really like the red (blood?) waterfalls, but the red floors, red cliffs, and red walls all together are a bit much. I also like #1 about the best; perhaps you could add the waterfalls to that? -------------------- Überraschung des Dosenöffners! "On guard, you musty sofa!"
