Eh? I made no comments about the relative quality of Quint, I just pointed out that it's quite different in style to Emulations. And it is. Quint has a lot more secret passage searching, outdoor exploring, combat, etc.

I like pop. It's in no way lesser than other genres, it's just more accessible. The image that comes with it can be very off-putting (i.e. Britney and the boy band brigade), but the music itself is often pretty darn good.

I haven't actually heard very much of Mandy Moore, as she doesn't get much airplay here. However, she's a big fan of Switchfoot, so that makes her cool in my book. :)

(Actually, that would be a terrible breakfast, but I just thought I'd demonstrate the tendency to make every word end in -ie.)

EDIT: The American accent does come with negative connotations to me too. Maybe it's a result of it being associated with a country that often seems to forget that there's anything beyond it's own borders, or maybe it's just the sound. Either way, it does sound like the speaker is completely up himself. I know that isn't necessarily the case, of course, it's just how it sounds. Kinda like how Poms sound like toffs.

Forsaken And SotS are indeed very good, though maybe not what you're looking for right now. I'd also throw in the one that comes between them, Brotherhood of the Hand.
