Member # 5491	written Saturday, February 12 2005 13:27 Profile Homepage #31 Since I'll usually take on enemies I have no business messing with at low levels, It's very important to me to not get hurt, so I usually plain don't use fighters. Archers and spellcasters all the way. Archers, I find, can usually do nearly as much damage as a fighter, without putting themselves in danger. Priests, and especially mages, are team players by nature. They don't do enough damage to an individual monster to really bring them down, but with many castings, they can kill big numbers a lot quicker than fighters can - again, without putting themselves in the firing line. And I always give every PC Divinely Touched, so I can enter any combat, even an outdoor combat, hasted. One Lightning Spray doesn't do much, but 8 before your opponent even gets to move can be devastating. -------------------- SupaNik: Aran, you're not big enough to threaten Ash. Member # 5491	written Friday, February 11 2005 14:41 Profile Homepage #16 When I went into DwtD with 4 level 1 priests (yes, I know you're talking about mages) I made them all Nephilim with Fast on Feet. I also made sure they had enough dexterity to act first. This has a double benefit - I armed them with missile weapons, so on the occasion that I get a 5 AP round, I can shoot/cast. With four spells and a few missiles, I could take a fair bit out of most enemies. Intelligence is nearly worthless. Don't touch it until you're maxed out in spell levels (both priest and mage, I recommend). Lots of levels means more spell points (very handy) and really the only effective way to boost spell power is to buy/find extra levels. -------------------- SupaNik: Aran, you're not big enough to threaten Ash.
