I have decided, on reflection, to not give a dam about who gets the moderator postition. Sure, I voted for Thuryl, but they would both be excellent mods.

Salmon, I could not agree with you more.

It prevents people creating multiple accounts so they can vote for the people they like. A full list of voters (member numbers only) can be found on page 1 of this thread.

Your right: that is no fun.

Basically, follow Drakey's (Drakefyre) instructions and you will be fine. There are also walkthroughs underneath the header of The Exile Trilogy, if you get stuck.

3 months without TM? Dam. That will be weird. And I thought that the week was long enough without him. Oh well, he will be back.

By the way, congrats Drakey! May you be the second person to reach 10K. Unless you ban Alo, of course... :P

For what it's worth though: where is Dumbledore's wand? And isn't it odd that we never exactly see his body? And why would he paralyze Harry, making him a helpless witness to the 'death' scene? It's not a very obviously effective way to protect Harry, especially when the only immediate threat was just Draco. But if it is crucial that Harry believe Dumbledore dead, then it would be vital to have him there. And if Dumbledore really were dead, Harry's belief in his death could not be terribly crucial.
Ha paralyzed Harry a non-verbal freezing charm because he knew that Harry would make an attempt to harm Draco, therefore sacrificing himself, if you will. And who knows, maybe in book 7 Harry will be able to communicate with Dumbledore through the portrait in the headmasters office.

Hmm, I could probably buy some weird hocus whereby Dumbledore did technically die, but somehow preserved some temporary ability to appear and act in book 7. His dying is no problem per se; it's the banal futility of a major character that damages the story -- like Gandalf falling off Shadowfax and breaking his neck near the end of The Two Towers.
He was killed — no 'hocus' about it. Apart from the killing curse that Snape performed, of course. And I hope dearly hope that Dumbledore is not reborn in book 7.

quote:
I mean, Dumbledore fought a duel with Voldemort at the end of book 5. Now he checks out without even a fight, facing Draco, a werewolf we've never heard of before this book, and Snape? I'm not saying it couldn't make sense within the book-world, but dramatically speaking, it's too much anticlimax to believe, for an author as ambitious as Rowling.
He was 'terribly weakened,' according to Dumbledore. His reflexes were damaged as well as his skills in the accident (which we never did find out about).

A weekly post count would be very, very scary. Imagine some random newbie simply spamming so he can get to the top of the post o****? Scary. And daily post counts are just unimaginable. Although eventually no-one would give a dam (as you said), it still is not a good thing. After all, we would also just ignore the monthly ones.

What I want to see is an annual post count stat, which shows all top 10 sp- posters, for the year. Keeping the monthly counts, of course. It would be good because you could see how much you have improved from hte previous year.

I have always just remembered "Canned" as in "can it". Its just the way I think. And 'C' is only two letters away from 'B' on the keyboard. In the middle: "Vanned".

What didn't TM do against the CoC, other than moderator-related things.

Kel's explanation is also an option.

1402+139*2=3402
1402+2000=3402.

I know, I was surprised too. One minute I was up about 400, the next I was up to about 500. Then of course, I excitement mode kicked in and I read the last 109 pages in about 45 minutes. But it is sad, don't worry.

EDIT: Spelling
