Reading the Da Vinci Code. Everything with a pinch of salt, although there are facts in there, like the fact that there is a museum called the Louvre...

Iffy: It's inevitable really, unless the Drakons shape up considerably. But for the time being it's not going to happen, as it would be the death of the Rebellion. Perhaps after it's won, and even then it would be crushed. Hmmm, the Drakons could own the land and act as protectors, while the Serviles/Humans/Eyebeasts/Drayks payed tribute to them. That wouldn't be so bad, I suppose.

The question isn't turkey specific. It's whether you prefer white over dark meat. If you like both, then you don't prefer either.

Feel free to have the Army of the Bright Star disband and become a bunch of wandering clergy, helping everyone they see. I was going to kill them off on the Rakshashi, but this would be better anyways.

EDIT: Hey, I RP on NS you know. It's where I got most of my skill. I am not one of those master RP'ers though. Still.

The Vale's intro post is being worked on as I speak. It's an overview of history as is none.

1. If circumstances allowed for you to meet a fellow Spiderwebber who would you choose to meet? Emperor Tullegolar

2. What do you consider as the magnum opus of these boards? Mountain of Shadow, the Episodes, Blades

3. Does the recent increase in spam content irk you? There have been times that have irked me more (Ed), and I am getting over it (It=Iffy).

4. What is the last Spiderweb game or BoA/BoE scenario you have completed. Geneforge IV: Rebellion. Windows.

5. Explain why you choose to participate in these boards. I was young (10). I had ideas. Naturally, this made I shared them.

6. Are you a regular poster at a satellite forum of SW? If so post the name(s) of it/them. Nope.

7. Of all current members, who do you think deserves to be a moderator. (Answer should not be a current moderator) Alo should be an admin, but that's another story. Dikiyoba. I believe around the time Aran became a mod I was suggesting Thralni.

8. For simple consensus: what is your current country/nation/territory of residence? What is your native tongue? The Union of States in the Continents of North America and Oceania and the Union's Global Territories. Yay USCNAOUGT!

I speak many languages, and I learned them all around the same time. They are: English, Canadian, British, American, Australian, the Modern Lingua Franca, New Zealandish, Sealandish, Jamaican, Bahaman, and Anglo-Saxonese.

Khima-uss, located in the Greyghost Mountains in GF4. Wintery settlement, has a lovely drakon fellow who tries to kill you because you're human...
That explains it. I went as Servile on all my rebel playthroughs. One bad Drakon does not ruin the whole race, though we're definitely seeing a trend.

quote:
I didn't say insane, but you did leave off suicidal.
Mentally unstable. Pretty much the same. Yes, he was suicidal, but in a blaze of glory sort of way.

GoldenKing, just because a group is powerful, doesn't mean they are corrupt. In fact, if I had to venture a bet, I would bet that most Shapers, though arrogant and ambicious, are far from corrupt. Just because a person holds different ideals doesn't make them corrupt.
You're right. Just because they have different ideals doesn't make them corrupt. There are other things that make them corrupt, like the Black Rabbit's issue. (Paraphrasing) "Sometimes, no matter how much taxes a city pays, if it's in trouble the Shapers don't do anything."

Of course, reflecting, I realize corrupt wasn't the best word choice. And, of course, I can't think of a better word right now. Basically it's all of the regulations, the Sucia Isle cover up, and the corruption of individuals. Maybe corrupt was what I meant. I can't tell anymore.

You're roughly my age, Ex, and I prefer dark meat. White meat is just far to dry and tasteless.

And yes, it was meant to be a joke. Not necessarily a sick one, but interpret it as you will. However you interpreted it.

Tomorrow, untold numbers of poultry will be crammed into stooves, ovens, pots, pans, microwaves, faces. These unfortunate avians will then be grasped with gluttonous fingers of millions of Augustus Gloops, and crammed into mouths. This of course leads to the central question:

Do you prefer dark meat or white meat on your platter?

You, my friend, are deluded. The only Drakon that showed mercy and tolerence is Ghaldring, and his rule, if GF4 shows anything, is already in severe danger. The rest would be all to happy to shred you on the spot.
First of all, no need to get personal. As for the rest, you're right. The Drakons are insane as a species, and should be stripped of their intelligence and loosed on the Shapers.

quote:
Oh really? Is the shaping lab behind the Drakon's warrens in Khima-uss out of this so-called necessity? Is the fact that they effectively kicked serviles out of Khima-uss or made them slave labor justified by this so-called necessity?
I do not recall Khima-Uss, so if you could kindly remind you, I'd be happy to inform you of the Truth. The Drakon enslavement of the Serviles is dispicable and practically the best example of hypocrisy I could give you. Perhaps the favor should be returned, as I stated above.

quote:
No to the first, but yes to the second. Most of the developments in Shaping came from those experiments. Twisted? Yes. Pointless? Try again.
I agree here. Without certain advancements in key species (Ornks and Plants) many areas of Terrestia (Forsaken Lands, Drypeak) would be completly uninhabitable. Many advances (Anything off of the first tier, Artilla) I could however do without. Fyoras and Thayds could be seen as useful for protection of trade lines and cities, but the rest have no place anywhere but war.

quote:
Oh, and while we're making vaguely related comparisons between Geneforge and real-life events, the Rebels are the equivalent of modern-day terrorists.
Then the Shapers are the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. Powerful, weilder of the Geneforge equivalent to nuclear tech, massive, and corrupt. Which I suppose would make the Rebels Chechnya.

quote:
No argument vs. Drayks, but the drakons are bound by neither reason nor mercy (Ghaldring aside). Their ideals was basically the one thing holding their morality in place (Ghaldring aside), and now that they're casting that aside (Ghaldring too)... Well, you do the math.
Frankly, the same could be said for humanity. I could go out and kill anyone I want to, but there are certain reasons I woulnt. Not the least of which is the Law. Also, some point in the future, that person I killed could be of some use to me. I recall there being a discussion on how everyone is self-serving either in General or Geneforge somewhere.

quote:
I apologize. I didn't know Salassar was the picture of mental health. Now that I do, I'm happy I'm the mentally disturbed person I am.
I have to object here. He may not have been nice, but he was no Monarch. He was racist, ambitious, greedy, and arrogant, but not insane.

quote:
Except for the backstabbing, brainwashing, and hypocrisy. It is interesting to see how you can put a much lower value on the deaths of millions of innocent bystanders from multiple species versus the death of a few hundred who posed a serious threat to security, and possibly the world. Quite frankly, the shapers were clearly correct in assuming that the Drayks were too independent and dangerous to be allowed to exist. Look at the carnage that resulted because they survived!
Backstabbing, brainwashing, and hypocrisy are fully represented in the Shapers, they are human afterall. It is interesting how you can put a much lower value on the death of millions of innocent serviles, drayks, and humans over the emancipation of three races and the rising of the poor. Quite frankly, the Rebels were clearly right that the Shapers needed to be ousted. Look at the enslavement and genocide that occurs if they continue to survive!

I disagree with all of the sugesstions put forth so far. The PC can't return so as to not dictate what course you took*, a Drakon PC would mess up the games choices, and Alwan and Greta have served their runs.

Khrhyk, Monarch**, the Drakons, Pirik, Miranda***, Litalia, and General Not Alwan. Those are the only ones I care enough to have return. Oh, Pol must reappear also.

*The PC's probably going to end up dead, following a Trakovite course.
**Yes, I think the PC should spare him so he could raise hairs in the next game, perhaps serve as a teacher to a new protige.
***Hers is my favorite character in the game, and she is very amusing.

Regarding Avernum Reloaded: I'm tempted to rejoin, but my prior experience in the thread has tarnished my credibility, if for that thread only. Although, after a year of RP'ing, on a different forum, I have improved greatly, and feel that I could rejoin with acceptable quality. Still, I wouln't.

Regarding The Vale: Been doing some thinking. To conform to the timeline ideas that have been proposed, the RP would be in the time before the Fall of the Vale, which I've decided to cut from a year to six months. I'll start making the map.

How could I forget Myst? Let's see, Myst was to empty, Riven was dangerous, Exile was dangerous, Revelations was fun, End of Ages was... meh, and Uru is awesome. It's either Myst IV: Revelations or Uru for me.

Excalibur: You're referring to the first Blades scenario, correct? That wasn't what I was thinking, as infecting magic is much different then infecting people. The Vale is rather small as valleys go, and is completely consumed with a magic "ball", sorrounded by highreaching mountains, which keep the power of the raw magic from expanding. In theory, all an Anamite would have to do to infect it is to throw something, or more likely a lot of somethings, into the Vale, something that naturally repelled magic.

Sully: That's a good idea. Of course, they would have to be permanent, not those one use ones we see in the games. Perhaps the last desperate act of the Archmages to retain power?

So, should this RP be made?
