Or because putting them in would require extra work.

I might get back into this, but I want to have someone revive the Hunters. So:

The Hunters

Location: Southwest Valorim. Notable cities are Krizsan, Farport, and Bolton. Was seperated by a river along with the Dominion of the Learned, and made profitable trade with Golddale. Meanwhile, at it's height, the Hunter's controlled the land west of the Dominion, with it's northernmost point being the land south of Sharimik. The land between Farport and Pergies, north of the mountains, have never been effectively administered.

Leadership: The Hunters were ruled by Tygra, the Founder of the Hunters, who maintained power by creating a personality cult, along with mental magic influencing his dominion. He referred to himself as God-Emperor, indicating in some ways how he was modelling himself off of the Old Empire.

Races: 100% human. Roughly twenty-five percent of the humans are Avernites from the Upper Avernum region.

Ideology: The Hunter's believe that humans are the Master Race, and that the non-humans (especially Vahnatai) are plagues from the gods sent to challenge the Imperium of Man. So, they recruit humans to their cause, and either enslave non-humans or kill them outright. The Hunter's see all major disastors (Empire-Avernum War, Hawthorne's Assassination, Revolution, etc.) as the result of the non-humans. This is the central belief of the Hunters, all other facets are unnecessary.

Military: The Hunters were always a militant group, and as such they boasted a strong army in their height. Unfortunately, Tygra had not forseen the need for a strong navy, and what they had was converted merchant ships. The lack of a navy strong enough to defend the coastline lead to the destruction of the Hunter Empire later on.

History: Tygra, a bland brigand before the Revolution, found a scroll in the ruins of Bojar's Tower and managed to use it. The spell made one more susceptible to the ideas of the speaker. Employed by an unknown man, he helped in the Revolution by taking over Krizsan, and soon set up his empire in the region. The Order of Krell spiked his water supplies with Lamb Flax(something like that), which cured the mind of his spell. His grip weakened, and his capital conquered, there was a coup that resulted in Tygra's assassination. Though there were still those that believed, they were not able to hold on to the Hunter Empire after Tygra's death. However, some of them managed to leave and spread Hunterism to new, fertile regions, with hopes of establishing a Neo-Hunter Empire...

NOTE: Hunters can be identified, sometimes, by the symbol of a black eye, always searching for non-humans. The original Hunters have tattoos of the symbol, usually on the forehead. Not as suspectful in the former Hunter regions, as it was administered to everyone. A banner of a Hunter battalion might look like this.

P.S. I want someone to reestablish the Hunters under the basic philosophy of non-human extermination/enslavement, as a Neo-Hunter Empire. If no one else does, I might just have to do it myself.

Magic is... meh. Strong but not too strong.

Humans, also meh. The only wide spread race in fantasy I'm okay with. Which means, be unique with non-humans. Elves, dwarves, and what not are overdone, in my mind.

The world itself, however, I have definite ideas for. The world is relatively flat, with towering mountains at the edge and a large hole in the centre. The land is all islands, varying from Australia to tiny stubs in size, and terrain that ranges from driest deserts to freshest forests, and one side, where most of the civilisation is, always faces the Sun. The Sea falls eternally down the hole in the center of the planet, and is eternally renewed by neverending rain on the peripherary. We'll call this side Terra, for demonstration purposes.

On the other side of the disc-world, the water goes through the center of the world, and rises up in a massive water spout. This side is always facing away from the Sun, and the sky alternates between the skies and the water skating across the sky on the edge of gravity. The water, pushed away from the spout in a gravity torus, gathers at the Edge, where it is gathered in clouds that replinish the Sea above. Magic is stronger here, but life is rare. Occasionally, the dominant empire sends explorer's into the spout, making a sort of shadow race on this, the Netherworld side of the planet.

The planet spins on it's axis, but that axis is at the center of the world, so once again, there's Terra and Netherworld side. Floating rocks, no serious tunnels known, (that way one could reach either Terra or the Netherworld side to easily), and some of everything else, except glaciers, on the Terra side. The Netherworld would be dark sands and glaciers, and is relatively uninhabitable.

A passive God inhabits this realm. As for the conflict of such a world... perhaps you're the most recent colonization force sent to the Netherworld, trying to survive in a hostile environment. The name, I could care less about, and you should give it a skeletal ecosystem, noting outstanding animals. Now, based on how this goes, I may or may not participate.

Isaac looked at the other adventurer's milling about aimlessly. Taking the initiative, Isaac struck up some converstion:

"Hey, all of you. Seeing as we're going to save Rune, we might as well get to know eachother. I'm Isaac Erikson, and I was a captain of League skyship, before the mutiny. Had to kill them all, I did."

Ahonar saw his opportunity at the murmurs of shock and awe circulating through the group. Yes, this was the one he would frame. "My name is Ranoha, and I was a commander in the military. Before the Blind Sage's announcement, I was about to send a group of colonists north into the Northern Wastes to colonize the final bit of the Dismal Swamps. Not anymore though."

Bustoke

Zacharias swore in the night as another catapult was destroyed. He had archers fire to the cliff where the boulder fell. While the slaves pounded away at the walls with their rams, Zacharias was in the trench below the wall. The sappers had gotten rather far with the extra help he brought in. Various bits of kindling, oil, coal, and other lightable things now filled the trench. Leisurely, Zacharias took a smoke from his pipe, and discarded the burning plant into the trench below. The flames started to spread, and soon the walls were groaning, moaning, swaying in the windy night, and crumbling under battering ram's pressure. Only a divine intervention would prevent the wall from falling by sunfall the next morning.

While cats and dogs add a nice level of depth to the game, they're not necessary to show. Although, I remember spending literally hours playing with the dog in the Inn of Blades, A3. My only motivation to destroy the Slime Plague was to save that dog...

In Manarina, it was raining. And raining. And raining. Such rain had never been seen before, and water flowed off the mighty floating rock in a huge waterfall. The Academy below was threatening to crumble with all the water that was hitting it's rooves. In fact, it would have crumbled in a flood to rival Noah's, had it not been for the dedicated work of the mages above.

In Manarina Proper, bells were ringing*. People gasped, "Hear the tolling of the bells- Iron bells!" The clanging and a banging compeled a world of solemn thought via their monody. For in the silence of the night, everyone shivered with fright at the dismal melancholy of their tones. The sounds that eminated from their rusty throats meant one thing. The people in the streets dwelled upon the High Tower, all alone, suffering from the muffled monotone. And as the ghouls were arolling to the tolling of the bells, even they knew what it meant:

The city was under attack.

Below them, the Academy was oblivious to the attack unto the last moment, when the hordes of Anama rebels appeared on the horizon. Screams filled the night. The adventurer's were all found, forcibly knocked unconscious, and dragged to the skyship. Any and all companions were voluntary in coming. As the adventurers awoke individually in their quarters, they would walk out to see Manarina fading in the distance, surrounded by raw energy the equivalent of Hiroshima. A firestorm completely surrounded the rock, and occasional rays of pure energy would burst forth. Alternatively, the Academy lay in icy ruins below, frozen solid and smashed to bits. Explosions keyed off at random, and the scene was altogether amazing. In the cold winter sky of nighttime Rune, the questers found they had time to chat, uneasily. Vlad would find, to his delight, a large store of ale in the cargo hold.

Bustoke

Undeterred, Zacharias continued the seige determined. Slaves from the other cities had been brought in now to help with the battering rams and sapping. Stronger quality boulders had been brought in, with much stronger acid. The battering rams were given steel heads. Impatient, Zacharias had surplus slaves brought in to man the battering rams day and night, with shifts. Still not satisfied, he did the same with the sappers. By the next nightfall, Zacharias would fill the hole with oil and light it, burning away the exposed supports of the castle wall.

Well, I don't know about magick, but magic requires training and skill in Rune. And the post had definite... resonations of when Eragon started doing magic.

P.S. Shouldn't your PDN be "Tis the season to be Iffy" instead of, "Tis the season to by Iffy"?

Catapult Related Stuff: I don't seem to recall implying that catapults were easy to destroy, even upon reviewal of the post in question. Although the phrase "near destruction" might have been the question you have, in which case it was merely a poor choice of words.

Nalyd: Yes, you can. Ahonar, as a God, can do anything, although he's limiting himself to the skills of a spellwarrior. Meanwhile, his intentions are to sabotage the party and gather the necessary instruments so that they don't fall into the hands of the enemy.

Safey: The group from Manarina will go as a group. But other then that it's either or.

Azuma: Responded.

Most likely, it will cease to be. Vogel will retire, and the games will become updates of each other, and eventually he will die. The only chance I see that Spidweb will continue is a young, enthusiastic fan turned protige who knows code, or, more likely, being passed down along the family line.

Anamapolis

Ahonar thought absentmindedly. The eastern peninsula had mostly gone quietly, other then Bustoke. They had to be put down fast before other cities heard of it, or there might be more rebellions. Meanwhile, the borders on the central peninsula were well drawn, with everything equal to or north of the lake being Anama territory, de facto or de jure. The good thing was, with the Banishment of the Gods and the Defeat of the Creator, and most importantly the Dying Vale, converts were coming in in droves.

Manarina

However, Ahonar had plans for himself. Leaving the High Priest with careful instructions and a line of communication, Ahonar departed the sanctity of the Anama Lands. In a puff of smoke, he arrived at Manarina. This would have been considered extremely odd anywhere else in the Kingdom, but here in the Magic Capital of the World, it was not so. After asking directions, he soon found what he was looking for.

Ahonar and several other rough looking characters, all desperate for fame, power and money, walked gracefully into the Hallway of Statues. Flanking them were statues of great men and women in Runic History. The most recently sculpted figure, to Vladimir's dismay, was not the Weapon Winch, but the People's King. The Triad was arranged at the Chamber of No Important Title, and explained to them the mission.

"Your job is simple. There is a chapel in the Northern Wastes, the Chapel of Fallen Might. Go there and find where the three items to fix the Vale are. The three items being, of course, the Glass Onion, the Godson's Dagger, and Jeffrey Vogel himself. Once you've done that, return here with them and the mission will be complete. The survivors will return to their corners of the globe wealthy as kings. There is an skyship waiting to take you the Chapel."

Bustoke

OOC: Get some over enthusiastic youth to try to destroy a catapult. I want to up the stakes.

IC:

It was noon time once more, and none of the catapults had been dismantled. Still there was a near destruction last night, and Zacharias had ordered that the catapults were to be hidden at night and guarded. Meanwhile, in the day time, the barrage continued. While battering rams and catapults relentlessly beat at the walls, sappers now dug away at the support structure of the walls, not destroying it, but exposing it. The sapping would take several days, but Zacharias decided that the wals were to strong for sheer force alone.

Christmas is so rarely religious now adays, I'd doubt that the majority of Christians actually celebrate it as the Birth Day of Iesus Christ. The way most people celebrate it, with out much if any at all Christianity, you might as well just rename it Capitalismas.

On the Solstice, I plan to (after school) spend my day fasting, in contemplative meditation, and wrtiting down my thoughts in my journal.

On Capitalismas, I plan to enjoy a breakfast meal of some sort of variety of scrambled eggs, before opening presents bought from the Capitalist Elite with the family. Following this, I'll probably end up watching football before dinner, a wonderful feast with one amazing center piece: King Crab.

OOC: I only do a few posts a day, Ex, so you don't have to remind me every few posts.

IC:

Manarina

With a patient hatred, the Most High Preist stuffed a sponge in each of his ears, to filter out the... more choicier words of Vlad. Particularily, anything other then the answer to the question, yes or no. It also helped get rid of the horrid noise of the rock being repaired.

Walking to the cell, he passed by a nursemaid coming up the way. She was an interesting one, she was. Came fleeing from the north when the Anama started taking over, along with a whole other wave of refugees. She had an odd ring, and when he asked her about it her eyes would go misty and she would say it was her wedding ring. The way she avoided the subject, you'd think the guy left her. She also said that she learned all she knew about magic and healing from him...

The Most High Preist arrived at the cell, and making sure the sponges were working, repeated the request.

Bustoke

Reading the note for the umpteenth time, Zacharias finally flipped it over, and wrote his answer on the back. Then, carefully rerolling the scroll, he walked out of his tent with a bow and arrow. Knowing the sentries on the wall might be about to shoot, he made a great show of securing the scroll on the arrow.

Zacharias saw his chance immediantly. A child on the ramparts, probably a sleepwalker. He muttered under his breath, "Alorael, God of Accuracy and Precision, guide my arrow." and loosed the arrow quickly. Guided by Alorael or just pure skill, the arrow implanted it self in the child's skull. When the sentires ran alarmed to the corpse, they would find the message, stained with the kid's blood, with two words: Agreed. Noon.

Walking back into his tent calmly, an aide asked what would happen if the catapults were dismantled. Zacharias answered quite truthfully, should the man succeed his head would end up on a pike as an example to those who defy the Anama. Then, with a weary order, the catapults began their barrage again, while the other soldiers pounded the walls menially with battering rams.

OOC: 7557: I'm thinking your character should arrive as the guards rush Ex after dismantling the final catapult.
