SoT, what you're describing sounds a lot like breadth requirements. As far as I know, most colleges and universities (Brown and Amherst being the two exceptions I'm aware of) have breadth requirements already, although not to those precise specifications.

All you'd have to do is change a few breadth reqs here and there and you'd have the system you're talking about.

Open slithhome.txt and find the LOAD_SCEN_STATE. Insert this code anywhere in the state:

Generally it comes on CD. If you specifically requested floppies, you could probably get them, but most of the time, it comes on CD.

Canned = public humiliation and warning to shape up or else face banning.

We often do speculation/request topics when a new game is coming out. We haven't had one for A4 yet. (We did have a sort of "gasp in amazement that he's actually doing this" thread, but not a request thread.)

Therefore I deem this thread worthy of life.

I hope with all of my hope that it stays turn-based and doesn't go into GF real-time. I hope that we can still control things with the keyboard and aren't required to use the mouse.

As for new features, I expect him to use scripting, so we should see a number of specialized behaviors, and I bet we'll have alternate endings, too.

Do we actually know anything about A4, other than that it will exist and will have a new engine? I haven't been following the interviews in a while.

But I think a lot can be learned from experienced designers discussing which stories will work and which ones won't (and what one would have to do to make a story work) as a scenario, which is not always intuitive.

I'm not sure that it can be a "contest" per se, but I could see this being a discussion. I have a number of ideas that I doubt I'll ever get around to making, and a few more ideas that I'd like to try to work with but I don't really know how they'd work as scenarios.

iluvhorses, do you still have potions left over? If you do, use everything you have, because this is the last fight in the scenario. If not, this will be a bit harder.

Combat in LP basically boils down to two things: melee or pila. I recommend unloading as many pila as you can — you should have two or three good hurlers in your party — as quickly as possible.
