You can wait until the dumbfounding goes away. This takes awhile. You can also go to a healer to speed up the process.

Rather than double-posting, edit your previous post to include the new information.

EDIT: And if you have questions about Avernum 1, 2, or 3, from now on post them in the Avernum Trilogy board, not the Blades of Avernum board.

I'm not too certain but I think that in A2 if you let the dumbfounding persist for too long, you'll end up losing some intelligence points. A healer is definitely your best bet.

If I am not mistaken, there is also a potion that removes dumbfounding. (Potion of Clarity?)

Be careful with a word, as you would with a sword,
For it too has the power to kill.
However well placed word, unlike a well placed sword,
Can also have the power to heal.

I believe that potions of clarity are in exile. In Avernum you can remove dumbfounding using restorations brews, unshackeling crystals, waiting or going to a healer.

Reviving a topic over a week old with nothing new to say = bad.

Character Editor? For cheaters? I guarantee you if you are all but the most experienced and hardened of players you will get stuck at one point or another and at least need a full party heal or a couple hundred gold.

I never did on any of my run-throughs of the AT, even the first. And I'm not exactly, you know, competent. :P

Then you clearly weren't wreckless enough. I managed to drop my wad of cash in the first inn I found in Krizsan. I mean really! Spend all that time cooped up in caves drinking cave skank beer and mushroom whiskey and you wouldn't want to drink real barley and malt based drinks? And smoke real tobacco and skribbane instead of those ToM altered things?

Of course I used the darn editor, I needed to fix my fixes!

Only time I ever used it (in the Avernum series) was to fix an accidental click. When I played Exile I used it all the time, though, because I was younger.
