I rather enjoyed the newer Avernum games (2, 3) and the Geneforge games - not just for the games themselves but for the ease of use of their user interfaces. If nothing else, I reccomend these if you liked Blades of Avernum.

In a technical sense...
Tales of Phantasia taught me that, unhindered, translators will screw up a perfectly good game by adding fanservice.
Breath of Fire II taught me that, under regulations, translators will screw up a perfectly good game to a far greater extent.

In a practical sense...
The Legend of Zelda taught me that you can strike other people with your sword and no harm will come to them.
Final Fantasy taught me that you can only sell something at half the price you bought it.
Dead Or Alive taught me that all women have voluptuous bodies and, at any time, may rip their clothes off to reveal a skimpy karate outfit and start casting ninjutsu.

I believe I did answer this: They don't. A rich child deserves no more opportunities a poor child no less than the average.

I don't. I believe that everyone has the chance to succeed if they work hard enough for it. More than half of homeless people in the US are homeless because they were too lazy to work to get ahead in life, or made the wrong choices with their own money.

If it's mine, and if it doesn't hurt anyone to do so, then I'll give it who whomever I want when I die. Government should not be able to control inheritance beyond a minimal tax. Neither should we rip children from their mothers at birth; It is the nurturing of parentage that makes us who we are, gives us diverse personalities and unique histories. Though this does and has created problems such as child abuse and predetermined religion, the 'egalitarian' solution would be far worse.
I agree with Alorael, though. There must be minimal regulations on inheritance - for the most part, (in my opinion) to prevent the funding of terrorism.

I weened myself from such phrase substitutions years ago, starting around when I first joined the Ikonboards. The beauty of a well-written sentence has, over the years, come to tickle my aesthetic sense. Nevertheless, I remember when all you would hear out of me was "hi lol this game is cool and u r not lolol."
I shudder when I look back upon those days.

By the way, I believe Avernum was a bit better, improving ease of use while maintaining the challenge.

I would also like to add that Exile had a lot of (imfho) useless features with which it tried to show realism, but rather got in the way...
