I do not think the gentleman would like Furcadia, internet connection or no. It is basically a graphical MUD for furries. :( -------------------- The biggest, the baddest, and the fattest. Posts: 2367 | Registered: Friday, June 27 2003 07:00 |

No matter how nostalgic I get, MUD's will never be on my hard-drive again. Ever. New idea: Microsoft's Combat Flight Simulator, or the regular one... Edit: Wait, did we find out if he has internet access or not? If so, you probably can't go wrong with an MMORPG if you want replayibility. I'd suggest something not as cliched, like Anarchy Online over Everquest. [ Saturday, September 25, 2004 16:23: Message edited by: -DemonslayeR- ] -------------------- The critics agree! First, the furry element is incredibly easy to ignore, really. And it's not really a MUD/MMORPG, more a chatroom with isometric graphics, incorporating a map editor and map scripter. -------------------- Inconsistently backward. SWOH. IM, PATF, ND. If it doesn't have to be Real Time (and assuming you can get an internet connection there), a rather nice online strategy simulation is Hyperiums (www.hyperiums.com). It doesn't have any graphics whatsoever (apart from applet-generated maps) and works in 'ticks', that is, combat, movement etc. are calculated every two hours or so. It's rather poor in detail, but once you get involved in an alliance, the game may become pretty interesting. Free accounts are limited, and full membership costs 1$ a month, but many players will sell you time credits for game cash. -------------------- The Encyclopaedia Ermariana <-- Now a Wiki! EV Nova, yes, absolutely. It's the absolutely best Space simulation I've ever seen up to now (bar perhaps Mankind, but I don't like Real-Time MMORPGs as a rule). The EV trial trial version is massive. Unlike other such games it manages to retain a deep plot in spite of its stunning graphics. Get it. :) -------------------- The Encyclopaedia Ermariana <-- Now a Wiki! I would agree with all of the games mentioned but someone forgot Unreal Tournament (the first one) and Unreal Tournament 2004 do NOT get UT 2003 under ANY circumstances Also Battlefield WW2 and Vietnam both very good.  :D ;) :D ;) -------------------- Vote For Pedro Posts: 35 | Registered: Thursday, August 21 2003 07:00 |

Beware of people who use more than 3 emoticons in a row for little apparent reason, especially concerning game reccomendations. It is not unlikely that the emoticons are a direct result of their gaming habits, if you get what I mean. :P Edit: Just to clarify, this is not meant as an argument against any of the games suggested above. I was merely making fun of the Emoticons. I'd have probably said the same if he were suggesting Blades of Exile and EV Nova. Hey, UT2K3 was fun. Still, with 2K4 out, I don't see a pressing reason to get either earlier one if you're just getting one. Posts: 3234 | Registered: Thursday, October 4 2001 07:00 |

Yea, UT2k3 was fun, but there's absolutely no point now. 2k4 is even pretty cheap. Also, no, Battlefield: 1942 is not that great, in my opinion. You're better off playing UT2k4 if you want vehicles. I've never played BF:Vietnam (for obvious reasons), but I can't imagine it being any better than '42. -------------------- The critics agree! Demonslayer is "a five star hit!" raves TIMES Weekly! Why are we even talking about non-SW games? All a true gamer really needs can be found in the demo of Galactic Core... Also, I don't think Civ 3: Complete is out for Mac yet, based on this page. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Wow, Bobo! What's causing you to double post all the time? Also, he might like this game, but it seems like it picked up little support here. -------------------- -ben4808 For those who love to spam: CSM Forums RIFQ Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |
