That long? I thought the prospect of winning a prie in the Scenario Contest would inspire loads of great scenarios. Sure there'll be some not so good ones, but there'll be a lot of good 'uns.

I know that Avernum graphics are isometric, but I want to make a cutscene in my scenario which has an airship in it.

Thanks for that Drakey! I'd better say!

Errm, Avernum style graphics would be better, as it would make interaction with the charcters easier. Also, they could be incorporated into the scenario as a cutscene.

But failing that, any stormy clouds would do.

I can't wait for BoA. I give it until summertime, which incidentally is when it is released on PC, to have a number of good scenarios. By then, it should be good enough to compete with BoE.

And having never registered BoE, I can't say much about it. Sure, the ideas great, but for a newbie, Nethergate and Avernum are much better. Geneforge's engine seemed a bit hard for my to adjust to - I was not used to "real-time" at first, which may put of Newbies.

quote:It would hardly be the first time it's been done. Plenty of BoE scenarios have included Avernum and/or Geneforge graphics. So go for it. I was just making sure - and I plan to use the graphics for a movie not a scenario. That's still ok?

quote:By the way, I don't believe that any scenario that has been heavily publicised before it's release has ever been completed. Just something for you to think about.I appreciate that, but I have sorted everything out for my scenario, and am just waiting for BoA to arrive on PC's - two months of waiting! And so I thought that this would be a cool idea.

Anyway thanks for the reply. I'll go ahead, and hold you responsible if anyone sues, ok? *sniggers* No, seriously, thanks.

Edit: gotta type quicker! (In response to Drakeys reply)

Could someone *skilled* please make me a few graphics of a stormy sky please? I need it for a sceario trailer I hope to make, not the game.

And if they already exist could you please point me in the direction?

Thanks!

Although I am a windows user, I do not declare to be a slave to Bill Gates, or globalisation of any sort. In fact, if I had the money, I would buy a Mac as soon as I could. But I can't. >Sigh<

I didn't know where to put this so I apologise if it needed to be in the Avernum forum.

The reason I ask Drakefyre is that I have heard he is a friend of to the people at Spidweb.

Well, the thing is, I want to know if it is acceptable for me to use the graphics supplied with Avernum/Geneforge and make them into a short animation in Paint Shop Pro or similar, as a trailer for my BoA scenario.

I accept that they may be your work, and if you say yes, I will be mentioning the sources of the graphics. Things I want to use are people, items and landscapes.

I apreciate that the graphics may not be yours, but if I could have your permission, I would be very grateful. And who knows, maybe you'll even put it on the site!

Thanks.

Screwed up notes in Avernum 3 in Tech Support

In Av3 I regularly use the "add to notes" feature, as I'm sure many of you do. Usually there is no problems, except one. In every game I play, Conruc, the administrator at the Tower of Magi is quoted as being in the Lower Slime Pit. This doesn't sound so bad, but after going back to him and pressing the "add to notes" button again, all of the locations muck up and the game locks. Any suggestions, or should I just leave it be?

I'm not sure what an hex editor is. Sounds illegal though...

The guys name is apparently Paul D Rotter, which I doubt, if that helps. There is an address to somewhere in Germany for sending donations, but I have recieved no mail from him yet. The game is freeware, and was made by him.

The game does have a sequel, the Sands of Time/Eternity or something obscure like that.

As the title suggests, I am trying to obtain an email address or web link to the author of a game called "The Night's Chill". I got it on a CD ages ago, but am stuck and need help. Or, if that is beyond you fine people, is there a link to the website of the game. I have already googled it - to no avail.

Thanks Drakey! Although I'm not sure that everyone would agree with you! I love tea though and think that us Brits should remain stiff upper-lipped and use the cool accent more often! Y'know - the posh ones Americans can do so much better than us!
