So you're saying that even though the kingdom is co-ruled by two monarchs who are equally powerful in theory -- with absolutely no hierarchy of power -- and you believe there wouldn't be spies?  The branch my character hails from is the sort of casual ranger elites you'd expect from a middle-age military. In a war, they'd almost definitely be the spearhead, since they're trained to fight with their heads and their instincts more than their sword-arms. In other words, closer to military black ops than CIA or FBI work. Combat espionage. Note that this character is adaptible. Hand-to-hand combat is not era-specific; I just said he's overpoweringly likely to know which end of any given periodic weapon you have to point at the other guy, but prefers to fight without specific weapons. Name: Souczescio Arfon Chadussid. Physical: Human, 23. Hair and eyes red, skin tone exceptionally pale, nationality unknown. Slight, unplaceable accent. Moderate height, thin build, with blunt physical and facial features and deliberate mannerisms that suggest predictability and harmlessness. Tendency to wear enveloping mottled field-gray uniform in spite of climactic conditions, complete with slouch cap; obvious reason being the fact that he would get a sunburn in the subarctic winter. Background: Holds a noncommissioned officer's rank in a wing of the Army which specializes in research and recovery, with dabblings in black ops. No serious stuff, though, just the occasional espionage and infiltration. This means that Souczescio is a sort of ranger, being trained slightly with all available weapons but best with his bare hands and the environment around him. Forte: Various forms of stealth.. Traps concealed by ocular methods are utterly unlikely to slip by him, and traps concealed by magical methods are still more likely than not to be detected. Between his skill for discovering traps and his training with making them, it also means that any which he puts down are basically completely invisible to the untrained eye. His skills also extend to stealthy movement, likely to be useful in an unsettled area. Souczescio is likely to be a government agent; the government is not malicious, and if it's trying to hide anything, he wouldn't know about it, but this also means that if something goes wrong and it falls upon him to forcibly quarantine the area, he will be completely willing to execute such a quarantine. I think every time this topic has been brought up before, what shuts people up is the money issue. Frankly, there's a good, sound reason no indie developers ever make successful MMORPGs -- it's because indie developers can't afford to run them without charging an arm and a leg to use them, and no one is going to buy from an indie developer if the product is that expensive. What's more, with the kind of buggy POSes other Spidweb products have been allowed to remain (ex. BoE), I'd be frankly amazed if any such product didn't require anyone who used it to format their HDs once every two weeks. You don't just tool around with online products the way you tool around with offline ones; it's very dangerous if you know what you're doing, and Vogel's various answers boil down to a proud way of saying that he doesn't. EDIT: Jeff Vogel doesn't do licensing. Trust me on this one: he can do it himself, sell it himself, and falsely advertise it himself (ask Alcritas about 'mail' or 'frau' when you next talk to him), or he can have you do it, sell it for you, and steal your soul for use in an a mighty, evil forge. (The next time you see Radiant, note his empty eyes, greenish skin, and continual attempts to eat your brain.) But he won't do a mix of the two, nor will he ever allow you to touch his code. I'd be willing to wager that he'd void himself if anyone ever released a modified version of the BoA editor officially. I'm European, pretty much. You want to get specific, well, then things get tricky. Some indeterminate but dominant percentage Irish, about a quarter of some central European Jewish background (note: maternal grandmother), some indeterminate percentage Polish, and I believe Italian somewhere or another. I've also got a branch of the family in the Carribean -- my father's great-uncle apparently married a black Venezuelan woman and settled down there. Which means that on the island we lived on, there were people with photographs of my great-great grandfather lying around. My grandfather being Irish, well, I'm sure you know how he took this.
