There is no mathematical proof for .x~ - .x~ = 0 for this very reason.

I suppose next you are going to propose that we multiply infinity by zero.

If I were SW, I'd consider letting Ms. Strout go. She really hasn't done a lot for community rapport, and it might be wiser to hire someone who would resonate better with the community to work in her capacity. A convicted child-molester perhaps, or an ardent neo-Nazi.
