I am sure there are less painful ways to anaesthesize someone. With a large hammer, for instance.

What does "doing the pyrotechnics" refer to? I'm not too much of an expert on idiom.

Famous Trolls Poll in General

Trolls are, for the most part, so utterly useless that I am bewildered anyone would want to talk about them. I don't see any discussions on whether people prefer emails from Nigerian orphan princes or Cialis sellers - why do we have that discussion for the message board equivalent?

Is post count that important to people?

Somehow, I missed the posts, but I noticed when the deletions turned up on my posting statistics radar. Actually, I just went on this board to ask about why around 50 posts have been deleted just now.
The posts will still be counted in your monthly count - won't they? I'd hate to think of all of the posts I might have lost.

Trolls are good for one thing alone: Getting your post count up without spamming!

- Archmagi Micael

That depends. Did the post count below your signature take a dip? If it didn't, then those posts will be there.

However, the hourly General postcount that tells me such nice things as current daily average, trends, posting peaks, 24-hour-spread by time, etc. will be affected. Ah well, I haven't kept track of that since March anyway. ;)

But it turns out it was just that I have a very low tolerance for the effort involved in choosing a CD and getting it playing. Now I have an iPod and I use it almost every day.

And my PC playlist is around 36 hours long. I still sometimes listen to CDs, but rarely.

Uh... ditto.

Though this is the first time I've actually encountered such a taste. Most people I know prefer some certain kind of music, and some claim the music they prefer is the only thing that is actually music, but I'm surprised to hear someone say they don't like any kind of music at all.

Yes, but commonly not at any depths you could comfortably swim in, suit or no, unless you're a microbe.

Of course, I am ready to stand corrected by the resident physicists.

Edit: Okay, I seem to have been right:

Wikipedia:

"superfluid helium can form a layer, a single atom thick, up the sides of any container it is placed in."
Thus, the microbe still turned out to be far too large. It also seems to work with a capillary tube (fountain effect), but a capillary tube is *still* far smaller than anything you'd fit into. Even as a salmon.

And pretty ghoulish on top of that. :) "Your inside becomes outside..."

Who makes it, has no need of it.
Who buys it, has no use for it.
Who uses it can neither see nor feel it.

(Also weak)

The point to remember, of course, is not that one must not like someone for being attractive, but one must not base one's liking on that factor solely.

Pretty much identical to the one I practice with, or at least very similar.

Edit:

A very crappy recording of Prelude XII in F minor by Bach. I'll play it again when I'm at home - it's much better now.
