I apologize for the recent flurry of disgusting posts. The matter has been dealt with to the best of my ability. I have banned the account, e-mail address, and IP. I made the IP ban somewhat broad, so let me know if anyone has any problems. Also, please let me know ASAP if the member returns.

Thank you for your patience.

I don't understand what this is about. When did this happen?
Edit: By the way, what is 'flood protection'?

Flood protection is supposed to prevent someone from posting too many times in rapid succession. In theory it prevents egregious spam. In practice I'm skeptical, because it doesn't do a thing about even accidental quadruple posting.

Somehow, I missed the posts, but I noticed when the deletions turned up on my posting statistics radar. Actually, I just went on this board to ask about why around 50 posts have been deleted just now. ;)

The posts will still be counted in your monthly count - won't they? I'd hate to think of all of the posts I might have lost.

That depends. Did the post count below your signature take a dip? If it didn't, then those posts will be there.

However, the hourly General postcount that tells me such nice things as current daily average, trends, posting peaks, 24-hour-spread by time, etc. will be affected. Ah well, I haven't kept track of that since March anyway. ;)

Listen to yourself talk! From the way you're saying this, it's like it were the end of the world if you didn't become top spammer of the month?! What the hell is up with Spiderweb?

Well - if there has to be a number 1 spammer, it might as well be me, rather than someone I don't know!

Anyway : Enough of Spamming!

You know Thuryl, and you certainly know me :P

BTW: Being the number one spammer can be an achievement or an annoyance depending how you got there. Using trolls to boost one's post count would be an example of the latter.

Mocking trolls is always good for my post count. The day Rubberskull was here, right after I left, I posted 24 times, which was a personal record.

But yeah, trolls, it's better you stay away. I don't want to boost my post count that much. ;)

Don't feed the trolls.

My record for the past few years was 47 one day last week, but before that I'd been known to go above 50 (it's easy when you can answer questions from all of the game forums).

I like my ribs barbecued nicely, preferably Louisiana style.

And I like to think of it as the rib Adam gave to Eve.

Nnno, it tends to be an annoyance, exclusively. Alorael has a high post count, but he doesn't spam. That's an acheivement. Aran has a high post count, but he doesn't spam. I have a relatively high post count, and I don't spam. Anymore. If "mocking trolls" constitutes spamming, it's best left undone. If you want a high post count, do as Drakey said - give useful, thought-out answers in the game forums and contribute to the community rather than to your automatic title in General.

EDIT: Hmm, I've never thought of women in such... culinary terms...

Answering questions in game forums works very nicely for upping one's post count. When I do a search within GF3 it seems I posted fewer times than it feels like, odd.

My record is in the upper twenties during these elections, and after hearing Drakey's I feel like slightly less of a spammer :P

Edit: I am typically second on the list of top posters; one month I was third. Only one time was I number one, and don't want to be again. It is easy to top the list without inane posting. Let me know if I'm too spammy.

Wow Drakey, 50 times in one day!

Whenever I have plenty of time, I will post an average of 8-16 times per day, depending on how spammy I feel. My overall average is only a little more than 4 though, attesting that my posting rate is quite streaky.

I averaged slightly more than 5.6 per day from September 19th to today.

And on the ikonboard, I averaged 17.5 per day.

I declare my intention to set a new post per day record, but I need sponsors to pay for... uh... equipment and stuff.

Who will donate to a good cause?

—Alorael, who will also take anti-spam incentive money not to do it. Really, as long as he gets paid, he's happy.
