There's a discrepancy in whether Doston exists, yes. Fortunately, this is made a bit more easy by Doston's rise from the seas (if I remember correctly) being set into the far future of Ermarian (game-wise). You don't need to bother with the continent as long as your scenario is set at least somewhat close to the time period in the game. Edit: Grammar. Having moved to a new server two weeks ago, which offers a lot more space, more flexibility and also the shiny domain ermarian.net (see the Encyclopedia topic) I also decided to spend some time making an interactive display panel that could show exactly the same info I'm posting here. After all, it's already stored in a MySQL database, so it might as well have a front end. This front end is now here. It's simple, it's easy to use, it's interactive and above all it has ads from my pimp-- *cough* kind sponsor Google at the top (hey, that hosting is expensive I tell you). This program now takes over pretty much all of the function of this topic. But because, being designed by me, it is doomed to fail whenever I will have least time to fix it, I will continue to post the info here. Whenever there's a discrepancy, trust my numbers and not those of the program. So for those who like the stats delivered in a familiar and less impersonal way, all the content will still be in here. Anyway. 1. Joining Rate 85 new members have joined us this month, of which 52 have posted. The total of registrations is imperceptibly higher than in the last two months, but the number of actual posters is more so. Still, it's a slow month. Monthly Overview: April 2005: 151/87 May 2005: 78/43 June 2005: 147/91 July 2005: 153/88 August 2005: 108/62 September 2005: 91/52 October 2005: 81/43 November 2005: 83/41 December 2005: 85/52 2. Activity A total of 239 members have posted in the last month. 187 of these are old members, 52 of them just joined this month and will to a great part vanish again immediately. This is a small increase from last month, but more apparent is the increase in new members over old members - this might indicate a loss of activity in the future, when some of the new members leave again. Monthly Overview: April 2005: 360 (273) May 2005: 262 (219) June 2005: 325 (232) July 2005: 352 (264) August 2005: 293 (231) September 2005: 256 (204) October 2005: 229 (186) November 2005: 234 (193) December 2005: 239 (187) Postage: We have broken another record. No need to cheer; it's a record low. 3958 posts, by far the lowest monthly post count that we have yet had this year. This might be seasonal though; I don't know since I don't have last December to compare it with. 3958 posts divided by 30 days comes out to 131.93 posts per day, or by 239 members to 16.56 per member, or 0.552 per member per day. Monthly Overview: April 2005: 7576 | 186 | 21 | 0.47 May 2005: 4723 | 169 | 18 | 0.52 June 2005: 7267 | 251 | 22.4 | 0.77 July 2005: 8691 | 271.6 | 24.7 | 0.77 August 2005: 5917 | 190.9 | 20.1 | 0.65 September 2005: 5412 | 174.6 | 21.1 | 0.68 October 2005: 4477 | 149.3 | 19.5 | 0.65 November 2005: 4389 | 141.6 | 18.8 | 0.61 December 2005: 3958 | 131.9 | 16.6 | 0.55 4. Rankings This month's rankings are available here. Please note that this script will only begin to work correctly when the server thinks it is the 17th, which won't be for another hour (server's in Texas). [Edit: Changed a function, now it works.] The top ten, however, are here. I win yet again, but note that Alorael is also rather near the top this month. Also, congratulations to Alo for making me increase the width of the postcount column. Ow. I've been up for the past six hours. Mostly we figure that RW speaks through Icshi, I guess. Also, to answer the topic: Take a look at the name "SubTerra". "Sub"... "Terra". "Sub" means "Under, beneath, below", as in "Subterranean" (underground), "Submarine" (underwater), "Substandard" (below standard), "Sublime" (beneath lime) and "subtle" (below tle). It is obvious where the forum belongs - below all the other boards. Keep things as they are now. Or is that forum named "Above RWG"? No, it is named "SubTerra". I hope I have made myself clear. The question being whether this is a custom title or whether Kel has had his White Rabbit just deleted and is now back on normal titles. Getting back to the PPP thing, does someone know how to create folders with PHP in a way that you will be able to delete them afterwards? I feel like a Sorceror's Apprentice here... "Root, my need is great! The folders I created, Now I can't remove!" The only solution I see is getting PHP to open an FTP connection with the server it runs on and then logging in with my own username to make the folders. Gah. -------------------- Encyclopaedia Ermariana • Forum Archives • Forum Statistics • RSS [Topic / Forum] My Blog • Polaris • I eat novels for breakfast. Polaris is dead, long live Polaris. At this point, I would like to mention that I didn't have Internet yesterday, and I started up Myst III and solved it for the third time this month. Only Voltaic that is, after that I just got tired and loaded up the save game just before the ending sequence. Saavedro is an amazing character. Unfortunately, I still keep looking around for Saruman whenever he's around, by reflex. :P -- Oh, and today I beat the computer in a one-on-one game at AoE, medium difficulty. That's not very good, but it is when you consider I suck at AoE and haven't played in two months. Partly Silesia (Polish, former East German) and partly Northern Germany, though I've never tried to pursue my ancestors further than my grand parents. It doesn't mean that much anyway. Except that I have what is probably a faintly Slavic-sounding name (ending in -ka), which would be due to the Silesian grandparents. -------------------- Encyclopaedia Ermariana • Forum Archives • Forum Statistics • RSS [Topic / Forum] My Blog • Polaris • I eat novels for breakfast.
