I can supply the dead kangaroo, seven ill-tempered penguins, and a life-sized Antonio Banderas blow-up doll. Don't ask.

Will there be party games? I think with this croud, even Pictionary could end up being a bloodbath.

Maybe Twister...

Well, I think it's time to weed out the crappy suggestions and compile a list of the good ones and see if there is anything else or any objections.

1. Allowing certain creations to equip/carry items.

2. New, albeit not radically different, low-end creations.

3. More portrait options for each class.

4. Equip a missile weapon and a melee weapon at the same time. Look up two posts.

5. Cap trainers somewhere other than base +2.

6. Change the way unlocking works, so when the window comes up you can select a certain number of living tools to use, allowing you to conserve a couple with the unlock spell.

7. Make AP more like a commodity to be spent. (Attacking uses 5, if you had 6 then you have 1 left)

8. Doing something (????) about the economy. Look up two posts.

9. Make "Make Inactive" make your creations more, well, inactive.

10. More of the map revelation.

11.More options for allies to join you for a short amount of time like the guardian in the early game. One shot help.

12. Make it possible to leave creations at home and dress up in non-shaper clothing to ask the townspeople what they really think about life. Not having to wear a "shaper" sign around your neck.

13. Different icons for unique items. Even if they are just color edits.

14. More differences between the three classes. Maybe a new skill or an innate ability, they need something to make them more different.

15. The ability to join factions earlier.

16. (From Marcelo's post) I would like to see more often situations in which I can help, say, serviles which are outnumbered or maybe a farmer and his son who are about to be attacked by a pack of rogues, where I feel I helped the good guys and saved the day. I still think some elements could help Geneforge, I remember there were some points in Exile II where you were given the option of helping some travellers that were being ambushed or attacking them.

I think that list is pretty fair. I don't necessarily agree with all of them, but they seem to be the best so far. So, discuss. Don't whine that I left all the sound complaints off, I play with music in the background and my computer is usually muted anyway. Sounds don't mean anything, and unless you can get TM, Imban, Alorael, Drakey, or some other distinguished member to support them, I think they should effectively be removed from the discussion. So, discuss if you agree with any or strongly disagree with any. I think I weeded out most of the craptacular suggestions. Or, yell at me. I don't care.

EDIT: With a post that big, there was no way I'd get it done with no errors.

OOC: Well, I'm glad I came back, and glad I joined this RP in the first place. I think it went great, all things considered.

IC: Aarrow gazed around himself, in awe. It never did feel quite right to him when a battle ended. Kind of like the end of a book. Though it's best for it to end sometime, it never fails that you wish there was something more. Aarrow looked around at the remaining defenders, battered and exhausted, yet triumphant. He gazed at Rasil, injured and exhausted on the roof of the inn, the unexpected hero.

So young, and already so much pain. I can only hope the rest of his life is as rewarding as possible.

He looked at Schostas, Shadow Wolf, and the others, tending minor wounds and helping the defenders gather themselves together. Then he gazed at the innkeeper and his surrogate daughter. She truly was the unbearable likeness of Nadia, that young girl he had treated as the sister he never had. They hugged, and not even the grizzled forest warrior could prevent a tear from slipping out.

Random strangers putting their lives on the line to rescue complete strangers. In my heart, I will never do enough good to repay my debts, but to these people, they will never forget. They will never forget any of us.

Aarrow took one last look around, and turned to leave the scarred valley behind. It was time for his endless wandering to continue.

I no longer have any part in this. It's time for me to leave.

"Aarrow!" Rasil cried.

He turned and saw Rasil motion for him to stay.

Well, I guess it wouldn't hurt to have one last drink before I leave.

Hmm, perhaps. It would work if the ferrets decided to burrow to locate the switch. But why not locate the switch in say, the groin area? That would get the job done in a most unusually painful way.

I occurs to me that, if ferrets were trained in such a way, they would be perfectly ready to assault an enemy that sniped at them mercilessly, scale said snipers body, and locate and attempt to toggle a switch located thither. So, unless Alorael has a toggle switch of weakness and/or pain in ready access to an attack ferret, they would be useless. Maybe instead you could train them to sniff out and destroy a hidden cache of skribbane, then watch as Alorael writhes from withdrawal. Don't get me wrong, I don't have a problem with Alorael, but when I see someone failing to inflict maximum pain and suffering, I feel the need to offer my advice.

I made mine up. Comes from an idea for a video game I had. He's a member of a forest clan who name their children after weapons, and their last names are attributes they find desirable. I actually used the character from the video game itself in the RP "Holding the Tavern Front". I'll probably just end up making it a BoA scenario. [/more than you wanted to know]

Drakey didn't get that title through posts, he got it because he's an admin. Same with the title blademaster. Mods have that title, if they don't have a custom one that covers it.

IC: Aarrow rolled out of bed and put his pants on. The combination of not enough alcohol, sleep deprivation, and the repeated use of his Demon Bow techniques had nearly left him in a coma. The battle outside was earsplitting. A horde of ungodly creatures emitting battle cries and death moans was the worse sound Aarrow could remember hearing since, well, it was best not to dwell on that. Aarrow gathered his equipment and rushed outside to join the other warriors. Almost immediately upon reaching the battle scene, he noticed 2 things. A cloud of bats on which a battle was taking place, and the young theif Rasil plummeting from it. Once again, Aarrow's instinct kicked in. He was too far away to have a hope of catching Rasil, but the Demon Bow would have no problem. He drew and Aarrow and charged the bow rapidly. His eyes flashed lavender as he released the arrow. It soared through the air and struck the ground just below where Rasil was about to hit. It exploded into a balloon of a lavender colored jelly-like substance. Rasil splashed into the substance and sank to the bottom. It would disintigrate in about twenty seconds, leaving Rasil completely unharmed. Given of course, that he held his breath.

I really didn't want to use another technique so early in the fight. Now my energy is so drained I might not be able to use the ultimate technique.

Aarrow notched his bow again and joined the slaughter.

OOC: Ok, I'm back in, but you can go ahead and take some liberties with my character, as I'll be busy for the next couple of days. I just ask that you don't try and invent any new techniques for my character.

Time for my 2 cents.

First, more differences between the three classes. Maybe a new skill or an innate ability, they need something to make them more different.

Second, the ability to join factions earlier! Maybe Zaph can take your oath for Rising or Ty can take it for the Takers. He could still make it so that you didn't get the big benefits of the faction until later, but we could start doing missions earlier.

Majorly OOC: Hi. Sorry for vanishing. I won't even try to get back in, just wanted to apologize. My life sorta got in the way, and it doesn't help that my mom took her laptop to Atlanta for over a week. Not that you should remotely care, but I did qualify for the national tournament in debate, and that took more than a little time away from posting. Again, I'd just like to say sorry. Hope I didn't hurt anybody's RPing. Later.

Well, Vahnatai are humanoid. If they don't have similar innards, then how would they reproduce? Wait, we'd best not go there.

I don't think a dragon would be a good idea. Where does one sit on a dragon? The back would be awkward, I think. I read in some book (Heart's Blood, maybe?) that a dragon's scales shift around when it flies, meaning that if you rode one straddle you might lose some important parts. Perhaps if you could tame an Alien Beast...

Why would it have 2 i's? Hippopotami only has 1. I vote Wumpi.

EDIT: Actually, come to think of it, I would think Wumpuses would be an acceptable pluralization as well.

You forgot to mention that every president elected in a year ending with zero had an assassination attempt. Or a plan of an assassination attempt. Or somebody talked about planning to attempt to assassinate them. Or, something like that...

Don't forget the fact that it was a mirror image of Lincoln's assassination. Lincoln had a secretary named Kennedy, Kennedy had a secretary named Lincoln. Oswald ran into a warehouse and was caught in a theater, Boothe ran from the theater and was caught in a warehouse. Google it to find a whole list of similarities. Quite a coincidence. Almost too much so...

I smell a conspiracy against the conspirators!

OOC: I actually meant that the hawkmen had already retreated from the battle, and Lance would have special plans for them the next day, just like he had plans for the others the next day. Sorry I was gone for a few days again. So, is the Titan inside the inn or outside it? I'm going to treat it like it near the inn, and crushed a few walls as a result of being so close.

IC: While the other defenders prepared their assault on the Titan, Aarrow had retreated to a dark corner, unnoticed. There, his eyes began to glow an eerie orange color. His eyes were locked on the dragon and it's rider circling above, killing hawkmen. He then watched with interest as Tel was knocked through the wall of the inn by the Titan. The circling dragon seemed at a loss without instruction from it's rider.

Perfect, Aarrow thought. The orange energy surrounding him focused once again into the arrow, and he released it. The arrow raced into the air and repeated the same phenomenon that occured with the hawkmen. The beasts scales seemed unaffected by the acid effect of the attack, but its wings were bound just the same. Unable to fly, the dragon fell, dealing a glancing blow to the Titan just before striking the ground. The massive Titan was uninjured, but knocked off balance by the blow.

Exhausted, Aarrow sat on the ground in his corner to rest, confident that the dragon would be injured in the battle against the Titan.

OOC: Sauron, a little advice. Pay closer attention to other's posts and the overall flow of the RP. Randomly killing enemies gets very boring. Your enemies are not always weaklings compared to you. My character used one of his ultimate techniques that leave him very drained, attacked them with a trick technique, and took them by surprise. All in all it killed only about 10 and temporarily disabled about 20 more. Your character, in less than a paragraph, rather boringly slaughtered 15 with little effort. Give the enemies a little credit, or it starts to get to the point that the RP is entirely about killing enemies and never has any challenges, like there were with the Dark Wyrm. Just my 2 cents worth, take it or leave it.

OOC: I intended for them to escape my attack, just didn't get a chance to post last night. This battle is becoming a little boring. All of a sudden they simply summon a godlike creature from mythology out of nowhere? A little lame.

IC: Aarrow watched the hawkmen flee with pleasure. His technique wasn't terribly lethal, but it did a decent job of occupying enemies while scaring them pissless. Suddenly, he noticed the Titan that had been summoned. It seemed the two armies were retreating now, presumably to avoid any unnecessary casualties from fighting this beast. The warriors from inside the inn were gathering as well, the Geraldians having given up their efforts through the portal. It appeared the Titan would see the full fury of the defenders of the inn.

On the horizen, a massive beast loomed. Tel's dragon, though obedient, wanted to return and see him once again.

Out of sight of the defenders, the thirty remaining hawkmen conferred with Lance, deciding their next move.

"Tomorrow, during the duel, I want half of you to secure the inn while the defenders are distracted, and the other half... well... I have special plans for you."

OOC: There. I've set up the next battle and thrown in a few plot twists. Anyone is welcome to decide the fates of the other 15 hawkmen.

3 things.

You are correct. (whoever said it) There were about 50k dead in Nam. That's why I corrected myself to casualties, not deaths. Casualties include wounded in action statistics.

I'm not trying to say American lives are more valuable than others. The figures were just more convenient, and we were talking about it in relation to the US.

Last, I did forget to respond to his 6th point. In essence, all any election is is a popularity contest. But, Bill from down the street who builds birdhouses for a living and didn't finish 9th grade isn't going to be president anytime soon. They actually need some qualifications. Not that the system is perfect, but it's not as bad as you spin it.
