I agree about morrowind. I was completely dumbfounded by the sheer size of the game world, and the amount of sidequest. Luckily, I had the xbox gameoftheyear version, which is mostly renowed from not crashing as often as all the other versions, pc and xbox.

Speaking of AmbrosiaSW, you might want to play Escape Velocity: Nova, or its two predecessors. Its a bit different from your regular rpg, and you don't get to make as many ingame choices that affect your character. Still, I really enjoyed it, and the demo is huge! I had to put back the date on my mac because I wanted to lpay through the whole demo...

An EXTREMELY good rpg is Odyssey: The legend of Nemesis. Its mac-only though, but you can download the fullversion free nowadays at paranoidproductions.com. Its worth playing, and its got some really cool choice moments. The only reason this game didn't become famous, was that Exile happened to be released at roughly the same time ;) .

I actually never played Avernum 1. I downloaded the A2 demo, got so frustraded of the abrupt ending in the Vahnatai caves that let you hanging(Which was really the point), that I bought the game. When A3 came out, I bought that too. BoA was a must after all my experimenting with the BoE scen editor. I actually made a super-short scenario in the demo, renamed it Valley of wossname, and actualy managaded to play it. Of course, I had to go into fight mode in order to move around, and that kind of ruined it...

Back to the point, A2 & 3 is a must, I think, in order to properly understand all BoA scenarios. A3 to a lesser extent, of course, but still. Considering that A4 came out after BoA, and that no epiA4 scens have beem made so far, its not really necessary to play it before BoA.

Was the Slith vs. Nephil thread really that long ago? I remember posting in it, insisting that the Nephilim were bound to win since they had giants on their side, which nobody seemed to believe.
Now that I think of it, I've been a very passive member of this community for a very long time now. Funny that my profile hasn't been deleted, with my current posting rate of one post per six months.
Nobody remembers me of course.

As to the original question, my guess would be that it was either something like "Man, Spiderwebs (insert name of game) rocks!!!" or possibly a quesion about the game. Indeed, it could also had been just plain spam, which was the case at the "thehalorpg.com" community, in which I was the seventh member.

Good movie, although I agree it was not as good as it could have been... The book was better than the movie, always is, always will be.

Query: What was peoples reaction to Aloraels gimmick in the beggining? Sure, after ten-thousand posts we sort of get a nice feeling of recognition (or dread, whatever) when we see the good old "—Alorael, who...", but how was the reaction back then?

Somewhat surprised that no one has mentioned Terry Goodkind yet. (*Ducks to avoid the barrage of insults that mentioning Goodkinds name has brought upon me in other forums*)

Piers Anthony is sort of "Pratchetty". Still fun enough to read. And Robert Jordan has his flaws. (I still don't understand how he could write an entire book in the Wheel of Time series, including the Main character only in two or three chapters...)

I was really disappointed when I saw the screenshots. Seriously, with all the money Jeffs making, he could hire someone to draw some new graphics instead of just using Geneforge ones.

I'm gonna buy A4 just because i played A2 & 3. Never played A1, not sure if I should buy it. Im not sure I can manage all the old school graphics and the ancient interface that has been upgraded with each new game, as well as the spell system, which will probably include all the spells I hate.

EDIT: Found it, it's in A2.

"There is a mummified body suspended from one of the webs in this narrow passage. It has long since been sucked dry. Thinking there might be valuables concealed inside the cocoon, you look closer.

"Sure enough, you see a long, slender object, about a foot long, concealed under a few layers of webbing.

"You cut the webs away from the body and discover it was a humanoid of a race you've never seen before. He or she was very tall and impossibly thin, and its hair was pure white. The body has probably been here for a few months.

"In a pouch at its side, you find, several gold disks and a slender wand. Distracted from your curiosity about its origin by a burst of pure greed, you pocket the loot."

That sounds to me as adescription of vahnatai. Or wait, did they have hair?

Sarah Kerrigan from Starcraft (allready said, I know)

Lord Hong, Terry Patchett, Interesting Times. This one is a classic. All the bad guys that ever were made into one. With style.

Tartarus, from Halo 2. You like him in the beginning of the game, and the when he backstabs you you want to poke his eyes out with a rusty dagger.

For the record, Im an xbox user. Will get the 360, but probably the PS3 as well. The e3 presentation was just too blamming awesome.

It was in the Vahnatai Lands, up north, past the floating platforms guarded by demons. There was a weird place to the northwest in that outdoor section, where you could use the wrapped up bug at an chitrach altar. It did nothing for me though, as I remember it.

Yes, rock is popular. However, I am surprised that so many people consider classical music their favourite musicstyle. I mean, I also listen to classical music, and my favourite piece is the Troisième Gymnopédie by Eric Satir(Anyone else ever hear about this guy? No? Didn't think so.) But Hard Rock is my main focus in life.

Oh, and how does "Rock" differ from "Rock and Roll"?
