quote:Only kind of recently. (Oh wait. Has it been that long?) In any case, I'm missing checkboxes on the nationality question, as I have two passports. I've picked the underrepresented category and put German. It's nice to know that all of use can use English. Not everyone who's graced these boards can. :P It's shocking to see all those years. To me, the 00s have only just started, still - and all of a sudden another decade's over. Lazarus: That presumably stands for MultivAC, the greatest computer never actually built, which was advanced enough to know the answer to almost all the world's questions, but primitive enough to print them out on a teletype machine? I have to say, Excalibur, that when I cast Shelley Long to play your part, I had no idea just how far you would go in your transformation into Diane Chambers. -------------------- Slarty vs. Desk • Desk vs. Slarty • Timeline of Ermarian • G4 Strategy Central "Slartucker is going to have a cow when he hears about this," Synergy said. Diane Chambers = Shelly Long, and I'm still dumfounded by your choice there. Does that mean I'm going to regress to a former neurotic poseur personality? Yeah, I deliberately made that post rather ambiguous, and now I'm having my ill-formed moment of amusement. -------------------- Decca Records - "We don't like their sound. I'm a 18-year-old single virgin male from Finland, hello to you very much. I'm spending my third and last year in vocational intstitute and hope to get a job during summer. I'm inteterested in a variety of academical subjects, although ain't expert in any. Deep in my heart I'm an anarchist, but it seems to me us humans aren't really suited for anarchy. Thus, I often voice exactly opposite opinions, favoring strictly regulated and authoritave systems. In other words, "peace through tyranny with me as the tyrant". What comes to religion, I'm namely and evangelic lutheran, but my actual beliefs can be... confusing. I could summarize them with the sentence "whatever is, is God". -------------------- Life is a neverending carneval where everyone has multiple costumes. I just hope mine are pleasing to the eye. Just adding the "other" options I filled in. Gender and Sexual Orientation: Male, Asexual. Nationality: Dutch, as in an inhabitant of the Netherlands. Also as a curiosity I answered "2007" for Spiderweb join date, the account is older but I didn't actively start reading here until 2007. Posts: 206 | Registered: Tuesday, September 3 2002 07:00 |

Different people have different ideas of rich and poor. I avoided the "rich" label and in retrospect I wish I'd avoided "middle class" and "poor" as well. In the US at least, there's a tendency for a big chunk of the upper class to claim that they are close to average and just "upper middle class". But it's all relative. -------------------- Slarty vs. Desk • Desk vs. Slarty • Timeline of Ermarian • G4 Strategy Central "Slartucker is going to have a cow when he hears about this," Synergy said. Slarty and I have both previously mentioned that we're gay. I'm just wondering who the third is. And since I've already made the drama of life public knowledge around here, the extremely summarized update is that I'm now openly, and happily, gay, and an (soon to be officially) ex-Mormon. Given that I still live with my parents, who are the only ones who still don't know, "difficult" is definitely one of the words that applies. It is really nice to talk to people who consider it a call for congratulations though. Thanks. -------------------- Take the Personality Test! Deep down, you wish you were a stick figure. Age: 18 Birth Characteristics: I'm the middle of three brothers Sexual Orientation: Male, heterosexual Marital Status: Single Virgin: Yes Ethnic Origin: European (American mud) Nationality: American Languages Spoken: English and high school level spanish. (Hopefully fluent spanish eventually) Religion: Nope, I don't like to subscribe to a belief that millions of others are wrong. Economic Status: Well off, though definately not rich by American standards. If my dad hadn't retired so young from his old job my family would be much wealthier. Political Leanings: I don't know. I chose the strong economic and social control, but my opinions vary issue to issue. I think I owe service to my country so take that as you will. Highest degree completed: Middle School, though I'll be graduating from High School in a few months. Academic area of interest: Physical Sciences, I'm going to study to become an engineer. At least, that's the plan right now. I'm also a music buff, and love to play a wide variety of music on guitar. Primary Occupation: I'm a student. Membership to Spiderweb: Since before 2000... Age: 21 Siblings: I have a younger sister and younger brother, in that order. Sexual Orientation: Male, straight Marital Status: Engaged. Virgin: Yes Ethnic Origin: European. My mother's side was of a high pedigree descended from the United Kingdom. My dad's side has too many bastards for us to know anything for sure. We know that my great-grandmother immigrated from Bugaria, that my dad's mother can directly trace her lineage to the royal court of some English king in the 1500s, and we're pretty sure that my dad's dad's dad's sire was Cherokee, though the woman's husband was german. Nationality: American Languages Spoken: English and a rusty fourth-year Latin Religion: Protestant, though I really can't cling to any denomination or individual school of thought. I mean, when they've all got their foibles and inconsistancies? Economic Status: My family is lower middle class (we were very happy to be upgraded to reduced lunches from free when I was in high school. It meant that my dad becoming a full-time pastor was not leading to our financial ruin after all). I make enough doing odd jobs and working over breaks to pay the bills; my only debt is from my schooling. Political Leanings: I have yet to find a political system that aligns itself with my own conclusions on political and economic philosophy. I have some very strong socialist leanings, I appreciate the value and advantages of a free market, I like a strong, centralized government, like paying my taxes, understand that not all men are created equal, and recognize that if order is to be maintained, someone has to choose and enforce a standard. All of the tests and compases call me a centrist. I call myself a moderate in both areas out of mere convenience. Academic area of interest: The Arts, including music, drama, radio drama, broadcasting, and filmmaking. It is my goal to tell stories for a living. Primary Occupation: Student, with some odd production jobs thrown in. Membership to Spiderweb: January 2006. Preferred computer system: I like to be able to strictly control exactly what I have inside my tower. PC, in all techno-definitions. -------------------- The Silent Assassin jams. Oh yeah, yeah. -------------------- -Lenar Labs What's Your Destiny? Ushmushmeifa: Lenar's power is almighty and ineffable. I like speaking my mind, when the voices let me hear it.
