Yeah, just read about that. Kids swallow everything. Toymakers need to consider that.

Whatever happened to wood blocks? They were good enough when I was a kid.

The Chinese treated the wood with something weird, and some kid chewed on it and got sick.

Agreed. Recreational objects for chronically undeveloped persons are unnecessarily complicated in this modern day and age. I'd rather buy a few simplistic toys (yo-yo, bouncing ball, etc) locally then Chinese overly complex ones anyday.

You're missing the obvious. We need more computer games! There's no way to swallow those.

You haven't seen a kid remove the keyboard caps. Not to mention all the fun things to do with cables.

I agree with Salmon, nice big wooden blocks with nothing painted on them. I had them as a kid with no problems.

Mine were painted in bright colors, but I didn't see a reason to ingest building materials anyway.

Not just building material, but bragging material. The number 100 is unfathomable to kindergartners, so I used to always say, "I have a hundred blocks. And they're colored!" to freak out other five-year-olds. They didn't realize that the classroom had at least 100 more blocks. Muhuhahahaha.

That's why us folks in the Coast Range make fun of the kids in Multnomah.

That, and jealousy.

And how about chewing the CD-ROM the game is on, or the box it came in?

That sounded ambiguous for a moment.

I'll go there - you wouldn't want a potential 20-year felony turn into a life sentence. Hooray for Ruffie Dots! I wonder how many unsavory people are out there now trying to snatch these up before they're taken off the shelf.

Ha ha. When I was in first grade, almost my entire class was absolutely convinced that nobody could live past 100 days, and nothing I, the teacher, or the approximately two other students in the class who knew better could convince them otherwise.

Wood blocks? I think Tonka Trucks are better, they're practically indestructible and potentially ingestible parts can be removed.

References to US criminal law are lost on this European... what's the 20-year felony, and what does it take to become a life sentence?

What is up with the US criminal law? Does it count as extenuating circumstance if a rape victim is unconscious?!

Well the defendant can't argue that there was consent when the victim was unconscious. It pretty much is two separate counts with rape and the drugging each considered as different crimes.

Then the comment confused me. What was the 20 year felony, and what would turn it into a life sentence?

The question I would like to ask is..why are the Chinese doing this? Aren't they already making good? Why do they have to make this kind of scandal..
