My right hand has at least one of the following problems. It could also have two or all of them.

1)tendonitis
2)carpal tunnel
3)bone erosion

Which means no cello. It also means when I can play again I'll be completely out of practice and my calluses on my left hand will be gone. Which will hurt. In addition to this, my cello will be horribly out of tune.

Anyone who gives me sympathy gets a cookie.

1)Ow.
2)Ow.
3)Ow.

Yikes. How did that happen? Too much cello? Spidwebbing?

Anyway, you have my sympathy, and not because you offered a cookie.

You have my condolences, as well. Unfortunately, I have nothing in my little backpack to solve this problem.

I hold my bow way too tightly(I used to drop it a lot) which causes both arms to tense up. Now all I can do is blow up rocks on my sister's computer.

Ouch. My sympathies. Not that I know what any of those are like, but still. :(

And no, I'm not interested in the cookie.

You have Dikiyoba's sympathy. Now go learn telekinesis and you'll be playing your cello again in no time.

Edit: Typo.

I know what tendonitis feels like in my elbow, I've had severe muscle fatigue in my forearm muscles, and I've gotten bruised boxer's knuckle plenty of times.

I know that carpal tunnel syndrome entails shooting pains throughout the wrist, like pins and needles. You have my deepest sympathies.

I'm sorry, Nico! Speaking as another string player, that's a really awful thing to have happen, especially once your hands have developed the way you like them. Once, though, when I got a really bad cut on my right hand and couldn't hold the bow for my bass, I kept my left hand in shape by "hammering" on the bass for a bit —— just using my left hand to pick out different notes on the fingerboard without really playing anything —— as a warm up. It wasn't amazingly fulfilling exciting, but doing it a little bit each day kept the calluses strong until the cut healed up. If you can work your right hand enough to pluck the strings, you at least can practice your music pizzicato and keep your left hand in shape while having a bit more fun than just hammering.

Playing the guitar keeps your hands in shape too (especially with cello, since guitar strings and cello strings are more the same size than bass strings), and plus, playing guitar is purely cool. :)

Take it easy, Nico! Playing Asteroids has its benefits too.

I was playing Hitman today and on one level there was this guy playing a cello. I fiber wired him and threw his body out the window. Surely, he's not feeling any pain now.

Ow. I know how much plucking strings without calluses hurts. Those were nasty blisters...*insert sympathy here* I hope you'll be able to play the cello once more!

Oh my god, I'm very sorry to hear that. No, really, I'm genuinely sorry.

I sound very sarcastic, don't I.

Seriously, as a fellow musician, I can understand that not being able to do exactly that what you probably like doing most, must make you feel terrible. I'm sorry to hear it, and I hope this gets solved soon, some way or another.

Ow. Being told, "hey, either you have carpal tunnel syndrome or one of these two things that are even harder to treat than carpal tunnel syndrome, or maybe all three" must suck.

I don't care to speculate on the gender of other Spiderwebbers.

I will, however, offer my condolences. My wrist's been bothering me lately too, and I hope it's none of those things.

May you be well, Nico. :(

You're much too young to be having something like carpal tunnel. How awful. Maybe it's from the excessive vigorous stabbing motions you've been making?

For anyone having joint and bone issues, I have some really simple advice. Stop drinking soda pop and drink water. Rather than explain why this can make a significant difference and generate a lot of skeptical debate, I'd suggest to just try it and see if you notice a difference.

Best wishes,

-S-

There is another treatment. It's all-natural, pain-free, has very few side-effects*, and doesn't require you to go to the doctor or take any pills. It's called Purring Cat!

Just place Purring Cat on your wrist, and feel the injury heal in mere minutes!

*Side-effects may include sneezing, itchy and watery eyes, sprouting whiskers, spontaneous meowing, and an unusual desire to eat cat food.

Get some Purring Cat today!

On a serious note, it is said that a purring cat does have some healing properties. There are sources who say that purring can heal bone injuries. So you may want to give that a try, if you have a cat.

Couldn't hurt, anyway.
