I just noticed that the posting habits beat the expectations of the majority. The folks that voted more than 225 PpD just didn't pull their own weight this time.

But to those anonymous voters who correctly guessed, huzzah, huzzah, huzzah!

Shall we do this again? Perhaps in January? :P

I blame it on the ']'. At first glance, it looked like an 'l' :P

Don't worry Andraste, this month I will be 8th. Period. But for the next month... Beware!

Here's the ironic part: the people who posted a lot (+250) will probably be resting next month to recharge their spamming abilities. If any of the people who didn't post a bajillion times start a spamming spree, they could take the #1 spot easily.

That's my prediction, anyway.

I tried to think of something witty to put here.

Needless to say, I failed.

Bah. Dikiyoba learned everything Dikiyoba needed to know about posting from the fluffy turtles: speedy and steady wins the sanity. No recharging necessary.

Yeah, if anything, we'll all be so energized by the stats that we'll be spurred on to new heights of spammitude!

I think I could keep this up so long as there are interesting topics to post in.

I'm not sure enough people could keep it up to make it happen. Last game release was acocmpanied by between 100 and 120 new members, of who about half became active. There were also over 200 older members that were active, including 180 of them being active before the Mac-release.
Somehow there are only half that number now. I'm not saying high postage won't happen, but dam, it will be difficult.

Like I said, I could only od it if other people are willing. Making new topics isn't my thing.
I'll have to stay away from the Gf4 forums for a few months though. No spoilers for me!

Excessive posting is not sustainable.

There comes a point when you feel like you have said everything there is to say and you are just repeating yourself.

And if you make it past that period, you'll come to the realization that Post Counts Don't Matter.

Sort of like karma. I used to rejoice every time I noticed another vote, even when they moved me up by about .01 or so, and rating down everyone I didn't like (and vice versa) - but now I just don't give a damn. I don't even bother rating people...

Once Geneforge 4 comes out we can start new philosophy threads based upon the new material from the game. I need to type up my notes so I can easily cut and paste responses to game questions. Trying to read the last few weeks of them is getting hard.

Announcement on behalf of EndeavorBot:

The program is now running as it should. It was programmed to remove the "updated" flags from all accounts and then start updating as long as any updated flags were at 0.

In testing, I had commented out the command that removed the flags. As a result, EndeavorBot believed it was finished before it had started. This is now fixed. It will be ready in a few hours.

It's somewhat amusing that you all thought the spam topic it posted was legit - if I say the stats *start* in a minute, how is it going to *finish* in another minute?

That explains the lack of news. The latest news had a large section of computer code,

quote:
PHP;

It's somewhat more intersting than some of the posts here.

Oh damn. I messed up again and let it put the test version of the new search engine on the news page.

Part of it are database queries. The numbers are all the search results.

As long as it's not by GIFTS, although with 8 legs they could type faster. Remember Zimbu in Dilbert who could use his tail to manipulate the mouse while typing thereby proving that chimps were the next evolutionary stage of mankind.

But Zimbu's presence insults Dilbert's intelligence and those of his colleages!
