The outcome of this race was determined 2 weeks ago. Any dueling is long past due.

You will not find 8th place quite so easy to attain. :P

Man I leave for a day and look what happens. Not really much of anything.

But I will maintain my spot. Hopefully.

It probably won't happen. Unless this goes massively off-topic, this thread won't be closed.

I tried to think of something witty to put here.

Needless to say, I failed.

Magma, in case you haven't noticed, you've been pulling ahead of me while I sleep for days now. I always end up overtaking you though. :P

Which is pretty funny, given what the current topic of discussion is.

Dikiyoba must be one of the few in the top ten trying not to earn a higher position.

It seems that the smart voters are waiting for the end of the month to add to the tally of the 201-225 class. Well done.

Now all we have to do is silence the boards during the next few days, while building up anticipation for Homeland:Evacuation (or whatever is coming out on the 20th of November.) That will bring the posting rate down to the majority position of 126-150, where it belongs. :P

Well, this thread is about posting stats, and everyone here is talking about posting stats, so I don't know why that would be so off-topic.

I just had a funny mental image of this thread suddenly turning into a useful, serious discussion about something non-spammy, and getting locked for it.

[Edit: Since Dikiyoba can't say it in the thread Dikiyoba would like to, Dikiyoba will say it here. Alorael, you've just made Dikiyoba's day. :D ]

I could discuss how odd that a poll open to public viewing prior to the vote selection could be shaped like a bell curve. It would appear that quite a few people voted on how other people post, and then posted at a rate which guaranteed an incorrect vote.
The statistical chances of that happening should, however, be discussed in the statistical discussion thread that will have been formed 2 hours prior to the closure of the Stats Poll. ;)

That could actually happen if several people posted just as a moderator was hunting for the perfect words to lock the thread.

Is it possible to unlock a thread? I suppose you could just quote the relevant portions and start a new thread.

I seem to remember Imban splitting a thread, once... that was the pinnacle of "interesting uses of mod powers".

Usually I'm all for testing limits and such, and discovering what powers exist, who has them, and when they are used. But, that was the old me. See, now I know the answers to all those silly questions. And they scare me. They should scare you.

That was the record for double-(multiple-)posting.

I must say that Invision's topic-splitting option tops UBB's in elegance.

There, it is even possible to merge a topic into another (and move posts between topics), although the one time I tried it, the result confused the hell out of everyone involved, so I didn't use it again. Apparently, it's only really useful when one of the merged topics has 2-3 posts, not when both are full-length discussions.

I count 24, actually. (We are talking about the first page of the linked thread, right?)

Oh, speaking of mod powers, it seems that we've lost page 2 of the It's been at least a week thread.
