I hope that tackling this idea from a new angle might introduce new ideas and arguments to an old subject, that of religion. This can only get started when a person who feels strongly about their religion and thinks they can defend it comes along.

So, arrogant and religious person, why do you think that your religion is better than the other ones out there?

As of now, I will be regularly worshipping Betelguese. Any takers?

God can't even make a rock he can't lift. So much for omnipotence.

I don't have one. But don't think you're all big and bad just because you win by default...

My god doesn't want to beat up your god. He just wants to return to the nirvana he experienced, but he'll do what has to be done for the good of the people.

—Alorael, who worships the Lord of Light, or course. And RW, but RW already beat up your god one of these days.

My god takes on many forms, and in essence is everyone/everything. I doubt your god could battle all my gods at once.

Doesn’t Mohammed Ali fit into the category of everyone? :P

Then I believe in one part of your trinity, namely the one who thought "forty-two" was a neat idea. :P

I don't have time to explain my entire pantheon (which is quite sizable), but the greatest of them coined the phrase "Elen sila lumenn omentielvo" while the second greatest is responsible for "Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn".

Please define the word beat as it applies to the God v. God phrase.

You're all pawns of Jeff Vogel. Now silence your blasphemous keyboards and return to your duties, weaklings.

I have no god. Thus, your god has no opponent, and can neither win nor lose. Thus, the match is postponed.

Thus allowing everyone else's gods to go straight for you. I'm sure you will die a horrible death at the hands of Chuck Norris, Cthulhu, Mohammad Ali, and numerous other gods/deities

Sorry, sonny, but I won't be dragged into the match by your lubed rhetoric this time.

I think from the outset this topic was destined to either turn into a spamfest or a flamefest. Former wins.

Odd how it's at its creation that I turn up. Damn spamdar! :P

Eru, Azathoth (& Company), and Bob make a decent pantheon, but I'd expect a little more respect for Ascai.

—Alorael, who finds it somewhat ironic that the people most likely to use the name Ascai on these forums are the people least likely to know that Ascai exists. And this is inspiring...
