I suppose that's a good thing? (who is this band? No, What is this band?

King Crimson is one of the most well-known progressive rock bands ever, and got its start in 1969. They are still around, but Fripp has been pretty much the only constant element in a lineup that has undergone many changes.

I seem to recall you commenting in an earlier thread that you listen to nothing but classical music, so I suppose it's not surprising that you haven't heard of them. Fripp is a complete genius, though, so the physical similarity can't really be a bad thing.

Is it just me, or are all the females on SW somewhat attractive?

Spiderweb does seem to have a large number of reasonably good-looking members (of both sexes) for being a board about video games.

I take it, Gizmo, that you don't want us to see you? Come on, it can't be too bad.

Combine mobile phone camera, and beer, and that is the quality of photo you get.

Sounds a lot like the first photo I posted.

Yea, considering spiderweb boards don't have that many girls, the quite a few of the ones we do get seem to be quite good looking

Kingy — I understand the accidental double-post, but four minutes apart?

kuc — Oh well, mobile phone cameras are never any good. And beer? Pfft. Jimmy's all the way.

Spiderweb Software --- Home of the attractive game player.

Could make a nice sales slogan...

Although, to be fair, all the attractive females I know play computer games. Maybe it's part of the attraction?

Still, all the beautiful people are making me less likely to post a picture. Think Quasimodo crossed with a mauled zebra... with the big pointy teeth.

Thus endeth this post.

Aw, I'd like to see what you look like Nik, and if I didn't get chased off by a crowd with torches and pitchforks in hand I'm sure you'll be alright.

I have a 2 megapixel Sprint digital camera that will overexpose the pictures with even the slightest bit of sunlight, and if it's too dark the flash will blow the photo out, too (yes I'll get a new camera soon); blurry, bright, or underexposed, I'm glad it still works reasonably well :)

Yes. Indeed. Extremely.

I'm a bit like the Lord Chancellor in Iolanthe, or one of Bertie Wooster's idiotic friends—I'm liable to swoon over attractive young ladies with a rapidity that makes bystanders wonder exactly which parts of my brain are badly connected. There seems to be a shortcut between my eyeballs and heart, bypassing all rational thought. So it's a good thing I'm so pathetic that I don't meet many in person any more, since I'm always making a fool of myself. It's far safer to come across beautiful girls in pixel form.

It seems to me that any girl that considers herself more or less unattractive would be more hesitant to post a picture of themselves in a photo thread, so what we get are the attractive ones. :)

However, that too may be just an illusion.

Good point, Ben.

For example, you'll never see what's left of my cousin Valerie's "twin sister" clone (also named Valerie).

All the good looking ones could be faking it, you know. :P

And yes, Spidweb has a rather suprising population of females who aren't average-ugly.

That's true. Maybe we should institute a new policy that when anyone posts a photo it has to have a cardboard sign in the picture somewhere with a certain predefined text on it, to prove that the picture goes along with whoever it is. You know, like police mug shots.

Hmmm. Thought of a loop-hole. You could just get a friend to hold the cardboard sign. And then there's always Adobe Photoshop. Dang it!

Stalin would've just loved the capabilities of digital revisionism. No more clumsy airbrushing when you get rid of an unreliable head of the NKVD. You could even retroactively replace him with someone else if you didn't like the suddenly unbalanced photograph.

or could it just be that you are jelous that they are hotter than you?

Btw, Welcome to the boards primaryism. It's good to have another female active on the boards (Girl power, you know?), and you being attractive def helps us control the male population.

I kept getting an error message saying it wasn't able to be sent etc from the board. I previewed post and then it was screwed up anyway so I changed it and then tried again and then it worked. I just didn't realised it had posted twice.

Aww.. Marlenny, I <3 you.

And yes, I'm jealous of all these e-studs picking up chicks on Spidey. Knowing that I fail to pick up dates on an internet message board, when I've so desperately been trying, is just disheartening :( .
