Great Britain's government is more stable than that of the U.S. Crime isn't too high there, because their government is much better at enforcing the law. Britain is well off in the fact that they're situated on an island, making it much harder to smuggle things into the country. The U.S. on the other hand, has many many internal problems, and is plagued by waves of illegal immigrants. America would have a very hard time enforcing gun laws since; 1. America has a large population compared to that of Great Britain, which obviously makes it harder to control. 2. The American government doesn't enforce it's laws very well. 3. As said previously; America has many problems scuh as its deep debt. 4. Things can be smuggled so easily into the U.S., that criminals could easily obtain guns, even if the U.S. banned handguns. 5. It would be extremely difficult to remove an ammendment from the bill of rights. 6. Many americans would refuse to give up their guns if they were banned, especially the cops. This could cause mass protest. 7. There's plenty of criminals in the U.S., about twenty percent of the worlds prison population. As said before, things are easily smuggled. 8. The NRA is probably bribing the government. :( To makes things clear, I don't support the NRA, neither does any one in my household own a gun. I simply think that stricter gun laws won't solve anything in this country. -------------------- WWJD? Posts: 1384 | Registered: Tuesday, February 6 2007 08:00 |

The purpose of having a gun is to defend yourself. For example, how would the people in Virginia Tech have defended themselves without a gun. They could charge but that would end up bloody, they could throw something but it isn't likely to prevent the shooter from firing. If the people have guns, then they can effectively defend themselves. Enacting stricter gun control laws will make things worse. Criminals will still gain possesion of guns, and the law-abiding citizens will often be incapable from defending themselves from a gun-wielding attacker, as it would be difficult for them to obtain one. So stricter gun control laws will give the innocent general public less possibilities to defend themselves, and allow criminals to commit gun related crimes with less difficulty. America's carelessness has allowed its culture to glorify violence, and its government to become corrupt. Many parents allow their children to play games containing graphic material at a young age, or watch movies with violence or explicit sexual scenes. When pubescent and pre-pubescent individuals engage in such activities for entertainment, violent or sexually explicit images are implanted in their developing minds, and as their minds develop, those images still stay. Therefore, it often convinces them that it's ok. Only mature people should play M games or watch R movies. In my opinion, the government or parents should take responsibility and prevent the youth of America by being corrupted through such forms of media. -------------------- WWJD? The given article wasn't well-defended, and was rather confusing. I found an article on Wikipedia about this, and it gave eight possible explanations. -------------------- WWJD? Posts: 1384 | Registered: Tuesday, February 6 2007 08:00 |

Oooh, a Starbridge.(I like Valkyries better) I'm a Mac enthusiast. I wish I had the funds to buy a Boot Camp, but fourteen-year-olds don't make good money, so I'm stuck with an Imac running on Mac OS 9.2 and a Power PC on Mac OS 8.1. -------------------- WWJD? You should change the resolution and colors to the preferred setting before you launch the game. That avoids the computer aking you to change resolutions and colors, which of course, keeps it from switching back when quiting. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I.F.M. being I.F.M. quote:That didn't answer his/her question - - I.F.M. probably uses the accursed Windows OS quote:What do you mean? DanloRingess is running the latest OS available (soon to be replaced by 10.5), but he/she isn't using the latest Mac computer (New Macs have Intel processors, not G4 processors). 1. Why did you join the boards? I'm not sure. EDIT: Now I remember. I was browsing Spidweb's site and saw "Welcome to our newest member".... 2. If you did, why did you change your name? It has been, and will always be Excalibur. 3. Have you even noticed that I changed mine (besides now)? Yes, but I'm still calling you I.F.M. :) [ Sunday, April 15, 2007 16:28: Message edited by: Excalibur ] -------------------- WWJD? Posts: 1384 | Registered: Tuesday, February 6 2007 08:00 |

When creating dialogue you're supposed to use underscores for quotation marks, since using quotations marks will end the text. However, if you put underscores in the script for a shop description, they show up as underscores instead of quotation marks. A question asked that I shall answer quote:I've never seen outdoor signs malfunction, so I think Jeff fixed that. Edit: Version 6.0? That's strange. I thought the docs were pretty self-explanatory along with assistance of reading other people's scripts. Terrain scripts are really easy; since most of the time I simply use the import command and state the graphics sheet and icon. Congrats Lazarus, you're just as good as Dikiyoba. My favortie board game is chess, as there is no luck involved. I also like Stratego, Risk, Monopoly, Scrabble, Boggle, and Upwords. I also play these games strictly by the rules, which sometimes annoys people, especially in Monopoly. [ Friday, April 13, 2007 11:26: Message edited by: Excalibur ] -------------------- WWJD?
