One thing that I have noticed is that "dungeons" may have little to no fights at all and may be intended to drive the story. For instance, a room in the dungeon may contain several tomes which explain in unabridged detail what the heck is going on, something that would be wholly unrealistic coming from dialogue.

Secondly, the dungeon may be critical to the story and not just "the bad guy's fortress".

A little outdated, isn't it? They might not make an Avernum II and III! Oh the horrors!

It sort of makes sense. I mean, once you know how to do something, you can only get so much out of it before it stops being an educational experience. How many times can you slaughter that skeleton or that goblin before you've mastered each's weakpoints, eh?

Besides, the scenarios that come with BoA aren't meant to be as expansive as the original Avernum games. They are only meant to exhibition that which it is capable of doing (DWtD, especially).

Let's just say that their stash that they left there was destroyed in the flood.

I'd like to have a call that re-inits all floors/terrains to their default state (as set in the editor). I just made a town with a dam, and it's MUCH different depending on whether the floodgates are opened or closed (about 3 dozen squares change--coulda been much worse, I guess, if I hadn't planned so carefully ;) ).

Going through all those squares and saying what they change to when the puzzle is solved was a pain, but understandably necessary. Going BACK through and saying, essentially, "now put it all back like it was when the party entered", in case they decide to undo what they did, seemed like more work than was really required. :)

You could trying making some custom terrains/floors which you can just flip en masse when you need to. i dunno, would that work?

Has anyone noticed that on about half of the road terrains, when the party steps on them, they produce the crunch sound instead of the normal alternating stepping sound? A minor annoyance.

Ah yes, but in the rare instances inwhich one would want to pluralize individual letters, you would put quotes around the letter to signify that it is indeed an object being discussed (as opposed to, say, just an ordinary letter). For instance: "a"s or "i"s. Yes, it looks strange, but then, we don't need to do it very often now do we? Similarly, one could use 'single quotes' for this situation, but they would probably only confuse everyone more than they are already regarding those apostrophes...

And, let us assume shall we, that we would never need to express these letters as being possesive, nevermind *gasp* possesive-plural. :D

"'s" conveys two things: first, it can convey ownership. ("That is Bob's copy of the game.") It is also for use in contractions of one word (a noun or pronoun) and the word "is". ("It's his turn.") Acronyms are considered to be a noun, so.. if you're mearly pluralizing it, there is no need for an apostrophe. ("There are many RPGs.") If you are conveying that something is owned by the acronym, than you would use an apostrophe before the "s". ("This RPG's story is hard to comprehend.")

However, if your noun is both plural (that is to say, if it already ends in 's') AND it is owning something, than you would use "s'". ("These RPGs' battles are difficult to overcome.")

The one exception to this last rule is with the word "it". "It's" always means "It is". It NEVER conveys ownership. To convey ownership, use "Its" (no apostrophe anywhere).

Wrap up:
"It's Bob's turn."
