No error messages when entering the scenario or the town, only when trying to talk. I'll check my script again for mistakes. edit: now it is. Invalid symbol on line 17. [ Saturday, March 05, 2005 14:42: Message edited by: Dolphin ] Posts: 2032 | Registered: Wednesday, January 26 2005 08:00 |

Okay, I can't get anything to work, but this is the main problem. I keep getting this message when I try to talk to NPCs "you tried to start a dialogue when no dialogue script was loaded" A couple things to note: 1. The townscript, dialogue script and the selected town script all have the exact same name, cut and paste. Aside form the variations of .txt, dlg.txt, and the name without the .txt 2. Cell 3 on the NPCs is set to the corresponding talknode Also I did see a past topic with this same issue. I checked all the things that they said, and it still wont work. Maybe they would have done better had they remained a group. While on the topic of their equipment, how long did everyone carry the Xian Scull around? That thing spoke up at some really bad times. Posts: 2032 | Registered: Wednesday, January 26 2005 08:00 |

When I registered the last game I got form Spiderweb (2 weeks ago) I was told that Geneforge 3 would come in about a month, if not more. As for Avernum 4, it hasn’t even been thought over yet, long long time. Posts: 2032 | Registered: Wednesday, January 26 2005 08:00 |

I felt kind of bad giving him over. I liked him. I tried getting to the point ware I was given the key than killing all the Takers, so that way I could take all the Taker’s loot and keep him as a pet. Didn’t work that way, when I got to his lair he was gone. It said he wasn’t home and the moment. Posts: 2032 | Registered: Wednesday, January 26 2005 08:00 |

Yes the larger teleporter was not yet functional, however it would not be too difficult to send a single soldier through at a time. It would be easy to send thousands through within a couple hours. Hmmm, maybe we killed all their forces when they were sent to Avernum. They possibly didn’t help their citizens because they had barely enough soldiers to hold on. Just for the sake of saying it, it would not have been very difficult of over through the throne. I wonder if the common folk would have supported that, seeing as we were their protectors. :P Posts: 2032 | Registered: Wednesday, January 26 2005 08:00 |

The first group could have easily been amateurs. The second group (player group) was entirely inexperienced. They recommended taking care of the Avernum’s minor problems that children with sticks could have fended off, but I was able to go to the surface whether they ware dealt with or not. Alexander probably just wanted the first group to look around and make sure the surface was still inhabited. Of course once you get out in to the sun and meet all the nice tan people there is a lot to do. There is also the possibility they just didn’t want to go back. I may be over analyzing, but how is it that no one else in the world could solve these problems but our group? The Empire was willing to send thousands of soldiers down to Avernum to avenge their king, but not to protect their surface home. If four or less of us could fix these problems surly 50 of them could have before so much death and destruction resulted. Posts: 2032 | Registered: Wednesday, January 26 2005 08:00 |

I don’t put too much into graphics, but Exile’s are really hard to work with. I didn’t play Nethergate as it was lacking the more advanced fetchers I started with, like the auto map, female characters, spells and evolved dialogue. I’ll give Exile another try. Mostly I gave up on it because everyone said that Avernum is the same game remade. The better graphics makes it so much easier to get into their world. The first game I played was Geneforge 2, and I really liked it, so I played Geneforge 1. After that I read there would be a Geneforge 3, and got all happy about it. The 2-month wait began and continues. I downloaded Avernum 3 and didn’t like it. I downloaded it 3 more times before I played it long enough to really get into it. It’s a very different style than Geneforge. Now I played and finished (in this order) Avernum 3, blades, 1, 2. I’m out of games :( I wish there were more scinerios for Blades of Avernum. Oh yeah I’m glad Jeff provides for Mac users first, that’s how I found these games in the first place… ALL games are for PC.
