An excellent find, SoT. While Nalyd didn't participate in that thread, he did follow it rather avidly. One of the problems with ID debates is that spiderweb is, primarily, a more scientific community.

Well, from what Nalyd has seen, this happens in-game as well, so it's probably supposed to happen.

Why the hell would Jeff want people to search for cheats? Most of the Character Editor isn't accessible until they have already payed Jeff, so why should he care? For those of us who can actually beat the games without cheats, we almost always elect to play the games right.

The occasional bugs where a special item is not given, or a player is trapped behind a wall, or any one of a million other things.

The original idea wouldn't be too horribly hard to use. Just a few more scripted abilities and creations. The real problem would be the interface and overpowering.

Good philosophy, Jeff. We appreciate it.

Pity that there won't be a G6, though. Nalyd is sure that you have your reasons, though.

"Fine, James. And as a matter of fact, I did need Geltor's help to stop me from becoming a demon. And your "Save the world" crap is no better than my Balance. No more insults, and we'll call it an alliance."

"Fine." James looked sulky.

"Right. At any rate, Geltor and his demons will be closing in on this fortress in a matter of days. We need to focus on mustering a defense. I'll raise undead, and try to lure Krasonva to Geltor. You can go and try to recruit other deities. Sound fair?"

--------------------------------------------------

A few hours later, and the ground around the dome was scorched and dead. An enormous moat of magical lava had formed around the dome, and Krasonva hadn't even begun to lose steam.

Seoth crept quietly towards her, with an entourage of mindless skeletons, with demonic illusions over them. He threw a lightning javelin at the crazed goddess, and she screamed in rage. "UNDEAD FILTH!!!" Shooting fire his way, Seoth sent his disguised skeletons running full-tilt towards where Geltor's army would be approaching from. Krasonva screamed wildly, launching herself through the air in a flaming stream.

"There. That should delay them, at least."

And, while Nalyd's at it,

Description of the Bone Dome

Formally called the Circle of Necromancy, almost every necromancer in the world is focused in this building, heeding their gods' commands. It's defenses, both physical and magical, are unmatched, and it would take several gods to damage it. Most of the Necromancers there are working on pooling their knowledge, and creating the materials needed to make the still-human necromancers into liches. The gift of lichdom is given to those most likely to die first. Several are engaging in research and experimentation, and a select few are raising mindless undead servants.

It's a gate to a dimension that Geltor made.

And, since everyone else is doing it. . .

A Description of Seoth
A mortal that ascended by killing several gods, Seoth is a strategical mastermind. While he prefers to work alone and is relatively inexperienced with handling large armies, his singular offensive power is tremendous, due to his control of weather and deceit. He is untrustworthy, as he can deceive almost anything quite easily. As such, he has made few true allies. As God of Undeath, most of the prejudiced gods of "light" consider him naturally evil. As God of Balance, he has few allies on the side of "darkness", as they consider him too weak to fight. Utterly committed to his namesake, Seoth never takes a side unless the opposition is winning by an overwhelming majority.

Description of Callia(Krasonva)

Kind and loving as a mortal, she was known as "Callia of the Gold" by all who knew her. However, she found Seoth's ideal of "Balance at all costs" immoral, and sided against him. He imprisoned her for uncounted centuries, and she was driven insane by the solitude. However, Seoth's memories of her stop him from destroying her. After her ascension, she was crowned the goddess of Belief, Holiness, and Soul. She has had thousands of years to gather her strength.

The meeting was still dragging on. Seoth was carefully considering and modifying all ideas and suggestions from his liches. Nothing profound had been produced since the original plan. It was nightfall when the god sensed a god in his dome. Excusing himself, and telling them to be wary, he left his commanders. Floating silently, he followed the sensation. He drifted around a corner and came face to face with James, his sword drawn. A group of undead were trapped farther down the corridor. James jumped at his presence. Seoth raised his hand. "Wait! I'm not against you! I needed to befriend Geltor to get the cures for demon blood and vampirism from him! I'm cured now, and Geltor know that I'm actively hostile. As for the goddess on the roof, she is completely insane. I would join tou quite willingly. I am the god of Balance, after all, and evil has gained too much of a foothold. Please, hear me out."

Krasonva screamed in fury at James. "DEMON!!!" echoed for miles. She lashed out at him with her flaming soul. Unlike normal fire, her fire was the fire of purity, and it hurt demons the most. Startled, James didn't have time to defend himself and was hit. His skin bubbled where she struck, and he was sent reeling backwards.

"No, I used to be a demon. Now I-" James was frantic. Krasonva didn't pay any attention, just screamed and shot fire. She hit him repeatedly, and would have killed anything but a god after the first strike. Yelling, James fled. Krasonva resumed her place upon the apex of the dome and continued screaming and gushing magma.

--------------------------------------------------

Seoth stirred in his sleep. He woke with a start, and remembered Krasonva. He immediately summoned his commanders and went to the briefing room.

"Alright, mages. The god currently (and vainly) trying to pierce our dome is incredibly powerful, especially against demons. If we can get her to notice them, she could probably take care of them for us. Of course, we would have to deal with her later, as she hates undead almost as much. We can probably enlist the aid of the other gods for that part. Lauraziel might even be able to cure her of her insanity, if we can get it through to her. I would highly prefer that we don't kill her. After that, we can finally begin to focus on Geltor and Makroangkeen. I know that at least some gods will help us there. Now that I'm not weakened anymore, we don't have to hold the pretense of friendship to him. Any questions on the overall plan?"

There was an all-around shaking of skulls.

"Good. Now, which gods should we first focus on allying with?"

Several suggestions went around. Eventually, they narrowed it down to James, Sliros, Marras, and Noric.

"Alright. I believe that our best bet here is Sliros. He's probably set up alliances with other gods already, even if we haven't gotten along well. James is for some reason against us, Marras is currently ignorant of the whole situation, and Noric, while he did agree to be my temporary student, isn't very powerful as of yet. He hasn't even met me here yet. Hopefully, we can repair the damage wrought by our hostile dealings before his sleep."

"Now, onto the specifics. We are currently understaffed. We haven't raised any servantts yet, and not all of the necromancers that have arrived have been turned into liches. I need all of you to compile all of you knowledge of everything into a library. A magical library. One room, filled with many copies of the same magical book. It will open to whatever page you're looking for. Now, Zeva. . ."

The meeting would drag on for hours.

For the record, Since Krasonva (Callia) pinned him down, Seoth doesn't really qualify as overpowered anymore. Expect Krasonva to help with the "Geltor situation".

Edit- Lone Flame, you have a message.

Fire. Fire everywhere. Seoth had no presence here, no body. There was only the fire and her. Her. Callia. Krasonva. His love from his first life. Before divinity. Before even the path to divinity. She was everywhere. She was the encompassing fire. Everywhere. Burning, purging. The Purger. The name she had taken once she had ascended herself. Ascended to contest him. She had been overzealous, not caring about her losses. She had been whittled down until she had collapsed on on her own weight. He still held her dear, and even he hadn't the heart to kill her high ideals. He had imprisoned her in a tomb made of the bones of her followers.

She came to him now, flaming, hating. . . purging. Attacking him, killing his dream-entity a thousand times over always the same way, burning, dying in undeath.

He woke with a start. The vampiress was gone. Seoth stood up unsteadily. He stumbled over a bamboo pipe laying around in the mist. Woozy, he all but crawled out of the mist. Kuberr and Cassius were gone. He sat down wearily and began to meditate. After a few minutes, he was rested enough to go back to his dome. His old chariot was gone, so he summoned one of lightning. Blazing with fiery undeath, he was back above his dome.

He stared downward in near-shock. Flames licked over the entire thing. It was coated in a flaming layer of magma. A figure stood on the top, screaming insanely, flames and lava gushing out of her. Seoth's metaphorical heart sunk. Callia.

She gazed upward. Her face was stretched grotesquely, flames and terror spewing from her every pore. In a blast of red, she flung herself at Seoth through the air. He parried her lashing arms with his twin rapiers. Flames gushed over the blades, blasting into him. He gasped in pain. She attacked him with a vengeance unknown to any sane being.

Overwhelmed, weakened, and unprepared, Seoth disappeared. He fled to the inside of his dome, and immediately began fortifying the entire structure with runes and pillars. Even the inside of the reinforced bone contained runic etchings when he was done. He collapsed, gasping onto the floor. His frightened commanders picked him up and carried him to his throne. He gasped out a sentence before he lost consciousness. "Get. . . James. . ."

--------------------------------------------------

Krasonva had had eons to gather her power. She would not make the same mistake she had last time. Her ideals were lost in the insanity that had overtaken her mind in her centuries of confinement. The world would be purged of her definition of sin, and she would keep it that way.

Living fire creeped over the land.

Seoth floated with the other gods on his cloud.

"So where exactly are we going? I don't know where to land this thing?"

Cassius flinched. He had been thinking. "Ummm. . . There. Next to that patch of fog."

Seoth lowered the cloud into the fog. He waved his hand nonchalantly, trying to dispel the fog. Nothing happened. Frowning, he slammed his fist downward. Nothing happened. He held out his hand cautiously.

"Illusion," he spat, "We'll have to live with it."

He landed and walked into the fog. He called back to Kuberr and Cassius. "Don't leave the cloud. I might not be able to find you again."

He strolled forward through the impenetrable fog. Vanishing into the mist, he gently began to float.

He drifted forward warily, waiting for the almost inevitable surprise. He was blasted forward, falling face-first onto the ground.

Whirling, he summoned his twin lightning blades. Nobody was there. A form rose from the ground. A woman, wreathed in flames. Seoth stared in stunned awe at her. "Callia. . ."

She screamed hellishly, whirling forward in a gout of flame. Seoth held his swords up in an "X" before him, ready. She disappeared back into the mist when she touched him.

He whirled again. This time a tall, thin, sultry woman was sauntering forward in a rich black dress.

"Hello, god. . . What have you come for?"

"A cure. A cure for vampirism."

"Ah, but of course. To an already immortal such as yourself, it must be nothing more than a burden. . . I won't do this for free, you know."

"Of course. Who would? I am a god, you know. Anything you want that has to to with Balance, Weather, Deceit, or Undeath will be my payment."

"But I don't want anything to do with that. I want to be a demon."

Seoth started. "A demonic vampire? May I ask why, Lady?"

"Unholiness is my one goal. tTo become the exact opposite of a god. I have seen your kind, and I despise them."

"Demons can be gods, too, you know. But at any rate, I can actually do that." Pulling the essence stone that contained the essence of a divinity and a demon. He threw it at her feet. "This contains demonic essence. Grind it up and snort it through a bamboo stick with the peace sign on it. Something like that. Go wild. Now what's the cure?"

"To drink the blood of a vampire, touched by a god and willingly given." She pulled out a knife and drew it across her wrist. Red blood oozed forth. Seoth grasped it mentally, pulling it into an orb and into his waiting mouth. He swayed on his feet, his vision blurring.

"Sleep tight, god."

Flames waited. . .

--------------------------------------------------

The necromancer was one of the tribal sort. Tattoos, bones, rags, that sort of thing. He walked cautiously forward, towards the woman of fire.

She got up unsteadily, coughing blood. "Necromantic scum. . . Cleansing, purging. . . The Purging. . ." She screamed incoherently. The necromancer shuddered violently, dissolving, writhing in death.

"Become your unholy servant!"

The necromancer - a zombie now - stood up and began beating himself to re-death with his staff, again and again.

Krasonva the Purger, once Callia of The Gold, rose. Half insane from her imprisonment, she began to stumble along, following the scent of undeath.
