Hola. I don't know if anyone still remembers the name... hey to the old members, hi to the new ones. Spiderweb still thrives. :cool: I've come back from the grave to ask for help for a school project I'm doing, and I hope I could get something from this forum. I've posted it on one or two others, too... I've been given an assignment to come up with some predictions on a day in the life of a high school student would be 50 years from now (i.e., what technology would be available), in 2056. My teacher said that to help the class get an idea of how much things can change, we're to look back at the past 50 years and see how much had changed since then. Indeed, a lot has changed: Who would've thought in the 1950's that there would be personal computers everywhere and information available at our fingertips? Or cellular phones that enable us to communicate almost anytime, anywhere? And this is only in 50 years... I'm here to ask those who were in high school fifty years ago, more or less. What was a day in your life like? What did you expect the future would be like? What kind of technology was available then, that is changed nowadays? Also you don't have to have been in high school back then to answer. If anyone had predictions/expectations for the future not just during the 50's, please feel free to share your ideas. I know there's a lot of young people here but there's also a good number of older people. But anyone could've had expectations. I'm basically trying to get an idea of how far things can really go compared to how far we expect things to go, and I'll apply that to my predictions for the next 50 years. I agree with Sherlock that Ken can now step down and let another person give it a shot at scoring big money. I mean, he's passed the $1 million mark, and there were a few former challengers who went against him that probably would've done pretty well if he had stepped down from the championship spot. The thrill of challenge in Jeopardy is kind of dying because, as he said, he makes everything look too easy against the challengers. -------------------- You go girl! He's incredibly good at the game. Both a fast finger and lots of trivial knowledge. That's amazing. I think he'll stop at $1 million...or will he? But, I think they should test their signalling buttons, if they don't do it on a regular basis, because I noticed that two shows ago or so, the third one was a bit slow. -------------------- You go girl! The Hawaiian roller coaster ride was over, thankfully. Danny was alone again; somehow he was too slow to catch up with whoever he finds. Ah well. He starts to look for company in the ship. As he conducts his search he comes back to the room with the fridge bears and it gives him a slight chill. He walks further on. After what seemed like forever (which was actually 2:40 minutes) he comes across a man leaning against a wall; he seems to be sleeping. Danny: Hm, hey, must be time for some sleep. Danny, lost somewhere in the ship trying to find the janitor, heard a growl. He had heard the announcement about emergency training, and thought that they were being invaded by creatures from the subject's body. He looked outside the window and saw the change of scenery. Hurriedly Danny followed the source of the growl; perhaps the others were there trying to fight the enemy. Soon enough, he encountered an unconscious bear. He was tempted to lie down and sleep on the comfortable-looking fur but resisted the temptation and moved on. Danny: Um, excuse me, whose bear was that I passed by? Plah: Sshh! You'll wake it up! Danny was relieved that the MicroSpider was back to normal; but when he came across a window, he freaked out. Danny: *enormous gasp, cough* We're in the alien mothership! I've got to warn the others! He ran around the ship until he came across Prof. Heimen. They spoke at the same time. Heimen: Hey, can you help me find my glasses?
