Is JV going to be at E3? Not at a booth or anything, that would probably be more than Spidweb would need. But is anyone going to be there? Are any of you? -------------------- Pathological Jerk Jerking at Spiderweb since 1999 Posts: 143 | Registered: Sunday, April 18 2004 07:00 |

There may not be such a connection. If the geneforge works just like the canisters, then it reacts differently with different people, but there's no evidence that how "moral" they are has any effect on this. I always believed it was physiological. Some people just don't have strong enough genes it takes to absorb the power without the bad side effects. -------------------- Pathological Jerk Jerking at Spiderweb since 1999 Posts: 143 | Registered: Sunday, April 18 2004 07:00 |

The Awakened don't really mind. In fact I'm not even sure they would know about it. Because the servile you bring back isn't from an awakened camp, he's from Learned Darion's, right? It's my understanding that they are fairly neutral. In fact he even says something like "Look, if any serviles CHOOSE to come with you, then you're free to take them". -------------------- Pathological Jerk Jerking at Spiderweb since 1999 Posts: 143 | Registered: Sunday, April 18 2004 07:00 |

Maybe I'm way off, but i think you have to have rebel views and talk to caplan just outside the wilton walls, then talk to the serviles telling them that caplan sent you, then they'll do whatever you want. Oh, and to clarify, the serviles are just north of the bridge west of wilton. the bridge you help the guards defend. just north of that on the same map. quote:No, look. Here's what needs to happen. The awakened, takers, and shaper council should send representatives to negote a sort of peace, and write a "Universal Rights Charter", clearly labeling out the roles that shapers, humans, serviles, and (drakes?) shall play. Sure they all have diametrically opposed views, but if they can leran to compromise a little, the world would be a safer, less fun game to play. -------------------- Pathological Jerk Jerking at Spiderweb since 1999 Posts: 143 | Registered: Sunday, April 18 2004 07:00 |

[quote=Wonko The Sane] 2. You have to be an absolute jerk to every non-shaper you meet.[quote] If you've never role-played the jerk, then you've never role-played. quote:Answer = no. Game engines have limits. pushing those limits = lag. lag = bad. But, as for storyline, the more endings the better. I was disappointed with G3 a bit, having only the two sides (mind you, different combinations of endings.) But still, more endings = re-playability -------------------- Pathological Jerk Jerking at Spiderweb since 1999 Posts: 143 | Registered: Sunday, April 18 2004 07:00 |

Along the lines of stealth... You know those unstable reptiles that follow you and bite you until they explode usually causing a deadly chain reaction? What if you could create an "Unstable Assasin"? you would tell it to target a servile/shper/whatever, and it would walk up to him/her and blow up... silently so no one around would notice. hopefully the damage is enough to kill them, otehrwise you'll have to send more than one. And if you fail to kill them in one shot of course, everyone becomes aware of your actions. I apologize if this was already posted in one of the above TLDR's -------------------- Pathological Jerk Jerking at Spiderweb since 1999 Posts: 143 | Registered: Sunday, April 18 2004 07:00 |

Arguably, its not even a different story, just variation on theme. But its the little things that make a difference. Seeing actual humans in GF2 made that difference for me. I loved that. And I'm sure GF3 will have little additions to the game that make it a whole evolutionary step better. -------------------- Pathological Jerk Jerking at Spiderweb since 1999 Posts: 143 | Registered: Sunday, April 18 2004 07:00 |

No no, clearly It was I who ruined the topic. But it was my intention. And now I feel bad. So getting back to being offended by slurs and such, I have to say that I've always beleived that you should be able to joke about absolutely anything, because most people are going to be offended by something, whether they want to admit it or not. How can one say "Its funny to make fun of gay people, but making fun of people with cancer isn't cool." And yet they do say it, all the time. And that's when people turn on me, because I'm the one who will say "Oh I see, I can make fun of something people are offended by, just not cancer, because your mom died of cancer or something, well I can make comments on whatever I want. I find it funny." And certainly it backfires. I made probably the biggest joke/insult against the gay community there is, if anyone remembers me talking about it months ago. Pretty much nobody fouind it funny, and everyone found it offensive, but chances are, if you were offended by it, you've probably made fun of cancer. -------------------- Pathological Jerk Jerking at Spiderweb since 1999 Posts: 143 | Registered: Sunday, April 18 2004 07:00 |

Toronto rocks everyone. Misconceptions: -Toronto is a relatively small tourist trap compared to Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City, even Vancouver. -Toronto isn't just like America. Very much not. First, you'd have to dump a lot of garbage in the streets. then maybe. -------------------- Pathological Jerk Jerking at Spiderweb since 1999 Posts: 143 | Registered: Sunday, April 18 2004 07:00 |
