I use a piece of paper to keep track of SDFs. Occasionally I use a pencil as well. -------------------- You're a moron if you think I'm not. Posts: 213 | Registered: Friday, March 26 2004 08:00 |

I'm trying to make a low level scen, even though I don't have the registered BoA yet. Yes, I have no life. But yeah. It'll be cool when its done. Maybe. -------------------- You're a moron if you think I'm not. Posts: 213 | Registered: Friday, March 26 2004 08:00 |

quote:Ouch... I hope you remember those numbers, otherwise the spiders are permanently messed up. The memory cells keep track of the character's dialogue and movement behavior. I suggest you have your chars exit the scenario and then re-enter. Its the cleanest solution. Put a space between the if and the first parenthesis. I don't know if the space matters, but its worth a try. -------------------- You're a moron if you think I'm not. Posts: 213 | Registered: Friday, March 26 2004 08:00 |

If you don't understand something, re-read it and try experimenting with it in the editor. Also, I recommend skipping the part about creature, terrain, and item scripts until reading the basic scripting part. That's what I did. -------------------- You're a moron if you think I'm not. Hm. Its possible that A) The function char_take_item doesn't work on monsters. B) ME doesn't work with char_take_item. C) Something else is wrong. If neither of the top two (which I am unable to test, as BoA hasn't arrived yet) is true, then I haven't the slightest as to what's wrong. -------------------- You're a moron if you think I'm not. Yeah, that is fairly annoying. I would love to have the ability to give item descriptions; that way I could items a certain history or perhaps explain why this ring does that and whatnot. Would this require changing the Avernum system much...? Or could it be implemented via editor open source? Or perhaps we could bug Jeff to do it. -------------------- You're a moron if you think I'm not. Posts: 213 | Registered: Friday, March 26 2004 08:00 |

On second thought, I probably should have just e-mailed this to Jeff. I'll email it instead; you can ignore this thread. -------------------- You're a moron if you think I'm not. Posts: 213 | Registered: Friday, March 26 2004 08:00 |

I have a friend who has tried to commit suicide twice using tylenol... She was despairing because of a relationship of hers had gone wrong. I think these attempts were due more to a flawed perspective of reality than how much willpower she had. She rarely thinks logically even on her good days, though she is better now. As it was said earlier, suicidal people nearly always have flaws in their reasoning, mostly due to strong emotion. Suicide is all about emotion; too much emotion almost always causes foolish decisions. If you're thinking clearly and you're suicidal, then you must be facing the prospect of absolute torture for the remaining years of your life or death. Few are facing this, but many think they are. -------------------- You're a moron if you think I'm not. Posts: 213 | Registered: Friday, March 26 2004 08:00 |

I've been messing around with the editor for a bit now, (although my registration code has yet to arrive) and I noticed a bug... I hit "Clear All Items" in the menu, and it comes up with a window for Clear All Special Encounters. I hit Clear All Special Encounters, and it comes up with the Clear All Special Encounters window. So far there is no possible way to automatically clear all of the items, it seems. So, there you go. I lack the ability to use the open-source to solve this, so I'm asking someone else to do it. And by the way, hello. -------------------- You're a moron if you think I'm not. Posts: 213 | Registered: Friday, March 26 2004 08:00 |
