Those bottom two preview graphics definitely look like characters from Ogre Battle for the N64.

I'm not too great at drawing, but I wouldn't mind making a contribution. I can draw people (although highly stylized and cartoon-like) and I daresay I just drew something that resembles a cow. The only real DRAWback of accepting my assistance (heh... I'm so punny) is that it might take me a bit to get around to doing it. Like a week or two. Soo... yeah. I can ink the drawing, but per your request there'd be no color. (Which is fortunate because I can't do that very well.) Some examples of my "artwork" (and a screenshot from Neverwinter Nights) lie within the link here.

http://photobucket.com/albums/b34/Eldiran/

I drew these awhile back, especially the comic. I'm a bit more skilled now. And I've drawn cat-peoples and lizard-guys before, so a slith or nephil can't be that far off. ...I guess that's enough bragging for now.

I'd email you but I can't get to my email right now. Just post here or email me at s e a n@haydenaud.com if you want me to draw something.

...nice ClarisWorks drawing, by the way.

Sorry for the slow reply, but nope, I didn't.

EDIT: Hm. Somehow the problem was fixed after I created a new party and went into the Tutorial. Never mind.

...does not appear to be working for me. Whether I allow the program to switch resolution or not, when I enter into a scenario (either by a new game or by a saved file) the viewscreen is blank. I can't see anything where I should see the terrain, etc, but it seems I can still do things. Command + R, control + R, option + R, and shift + R do nothing. (I know one of them is supposed to refresh the screen...)

The game seems to be running fairly slow as well.

I'm using Mac OS X v10.3.3.

Uhm. Is the link in the first post of this topic used at all anymore? If it is, then there's a mistake in there. The grey slith with two swords is labeled "By Terror's Martyr" and the one above it (which, I believe, is by TM) is said to be by me.

How do we perceive fringe groups? in General

It is indeed a rare occurence (occurance?) that with a single argument one manages to "convert" the other side's beliefs, but believe it or not, these debates do change people's opinions. For example, while I still maintain the same position, there are some opinions of mine that have become less rigid. One person showed an example of how a phrase in the Bible, often depicted as an anti-homosexual verse, could easily be interpreted in an entirely different manner. To put it frankly, the immorality of homosexuality has become questionable to me, though I had earlier thought that it was indeed immoral. Another example is that these arguments led me to realize that it is possible that the Bible is not the Word of God, but merely a regular book. I do not exactly believe this, as it isn't proven (at least not to me yet) but I realize now that it's a faint possibility. Of course, I still have firm faith in the existence of a good God. So you see, the base of one's beliefs is not easily influenced, but if they yeild to logic, then you can change some more minor points of what they think.

My point is that not all of this debate is fruitless, though most of it is.

Now onto the actual subject, whenever I hear "Jew" I think "a person who believes the set of beliefs that is Judaism." This is because religion is a choice, while race is not a choice; so race doesn't affect the character of a person (excluding any circumstances where one's race affected one's uprising and therefore personality.) Neither of these has a negative connotation to me.

About the prejudice of age, this isn't exactly a prejudice. (If that makes any sense at all...) Somebody can say "Every one-year old in the world is helpless" and they'd be absolutely right. There are facts to back up the differences in age groups. Racial and sexual prejudice, however, has no valid ones.

I'd have to say Nethergate was the best demo of JV's I'd ever played. One, cause it's a great game, two, cause it's like getting two demos in one (Romans and Celtics) and three, I was really bored at the time.

Unfortunately I've yet to buy the real thing, though.

The only complaint I have is that Wham Bam Shizam did not capitalize his I's. Or maybe there's a deep symbolic meaning to that? Hmm...

Erm... actually it wasn't merely a color shift... unless there are already some dual sword-weilding sliths, then it's fairly unique.

Meh. I guess it doesn't matter, but I was hoping to see how it competed with the rest.

Oh, how I despise Geocities. I'm still trying to see all the edited monsters.

EDIT: Now that I've finally managed to see all the graphics, I notice that mine's not in there. Earlier I sent an edited graphic of a slith warrior. I didn't get a response, but I assumed it was received. Did you get it, TM, or shall I resend it?

You can use them anyway even if they aren't identified. It's not a good idea, though, cause then you might fry yourself with some of those annoying "Bitter Loss" scrolls.

Seems it would be much easier for the item to just be set to 1 - 5 + 1, but oh well. I'm assuming that item ability is intended for use with non-armor things. Strange that it should be used on a robe.

Anywho, where'd you find that? I never saw any of 'em in VoDT.

Even if you are content with what you recieved, Theodis, that doesn't mean that the product's failures deserve to be ignored. If something doesn't work as advertised, I expect either the advertising to be fixed or for the product to be fixed, and I prefer the latter. The product in question here is one that needs even more support than other games. There's no reason to refuse to buy BoE, because it's a great game. It just could and should be a lot better, which is frustrating.

BoA, so far, has recieved excellent support and I hear there's to be another update in a while. I can tell that from our constant griping, Jeff has learned something.

Saying that the difficulty of game design is an excuse not to provide support (which I don't know if it's an excuse Jeff uses) is like saying that it's okay if everyone does a mediocre job at things that are hard. I bet you wouldn't want to apply that to a world leader.

I've taken to sketching little comics whenever an amusing idea strikes me. Of course, like any amatuer comic-drawer, there are no recurring characters. Except Barry the Clown. But I won't go into that.

If anyone really cares (and if I care enough to figure out how my scanner works) then I'll upload a few. Unfortunately they're all drawn in pencil and on lined paper. Only recently have I started inking my "art", and inking the text is a real pain.

Hmm... I wasn't aware they were demonic... I guess I'll have to use another race for the role I expected them to play. I intended for them to be a friendly race, but it seems that doesn't fit.

I probably spelled that wrong, but anyway... I think that they will be playing a large role in my next scenario (don't get your hopes up for a new scen, people, it'll be awhile) and my knowledge of them is limited. I know they are a race of tiger-humanoids, and that they are quite adept at magic and are pretty powerful in general. That is pretty much all I know, though. Perhaps someone has more information? Any help is appreciated.
