You could make that one button not disappear somehow... although I have no concept of how hard that would be to do. I for one would not object to a random button still being there in outdoor mode. EDIT: And, as you probably noticed, in a topic here, Jeff said that Spiderweb will put up a "utilities for BoA" section beside the scenarios. He implied that it would contain the 3D Editor. So it looks like it will be available on Spiderweb itself, which is far better than I could do. Puedo comprender español porque lo estudié en escuela secundaria por quatro años, pero (as you can probably already tell) no hablo muy bien. Yo no escribo muy bien tampoco. El idioma no es dificil aprender, pero yo nunca, er, put much effort into it, which I kind of regret. At least for the time being. Ahora mismo. I know I butchered at least a few phrases in there, but hopefully that made some kind of sense. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. ... in five months without being told to stop spamming. Happy Veteran status to me! This was once traditional, back in the more spamalicious days of Spiderweb a year or so back, as I gathered from the archive, so I feel no personal shame for creating as ridiculous a topic as this. Just think! At this rate, I will have as many posts as Alorael does now in... in... almost FOUR YEARS. Some people get Canned for spam, and some people get modships. Anyway, yay! -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. While role-playing, it is traditional (and often more fun) to identify with your characters. Using the first person is a common way to achieve this. (This doesn't mean be yourself; it means put yourself in your character's shoes as much as possible.) So nyah. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Smoo: Get ready to face the walls! Ephesos: In conclusion, yarr. Funny how this scenario has taken on a whole new meaning post-9/11. (For those who don't know, the BoE version of this scenario -- the original version -- was made in '97, before terrorism was a major political issue in the US.) I sided with the Hill Runners, just because the Empire creeped me out at that point. I forget why. I have a certain amount of sympathy for self-determination movements, too, just sort of on general principle. I guess I chose the Hill Runners because their cause sounded reasonable. Their living conditions were pretty bad, and the people in power were clearly to blame -- although whether the Hill Runners, if they succeeded, would truly improve conditions is an open question. Still, waiting around for a good Emperor to come along and fix things just doesn't seem like a great way of going about it. Historically, rulers don't relinquish power unless forced to. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. It is rather peculiar how polarizing Bush is. Even in this simple poll, you can see it: everyone either thinks he's the greatest thing since sliced bread (and is beginning to wonder if sliced bread isn't a bit over-rated by comparison) or thinks that he will be the destruction of the world and everything good in it. No one is in the middle, thinking that he is good but not great or is just about average. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. And it makes me cry like a little baby when people ask what the 3D Editor and the HLPM are. Especially since BoE has a utilities page. I do some really freaky things to check the party composition in the HLPM. From state 12 in t0Party Build.txt: And then if (party_size() == 4), just deal with 0,1,2, and 3 as normal. It gets rather more complicated if you have joined NPCs, though. EDIT: Basically, you can use some combination of party_size and char_ok to figure this out. Also that first bit i = 0; while (char_ok(i) == 0) {i = i + 1; } will figure out the leading character. Unfortunately, first_group_member(0) doesn't seem to do this reliably, and it would be the most obvious answer if it worked. It's not. This is an error in the docs. The point is to put parentheses around EVERYTHING, rather than relying on normal Order of Ops to save you. 9 - (3 - 3) = 9 (9 - 3) - 3 = 3 9 - 3 - 3 = ???? I haven't tried the last one, but it really doesn't matter. Don't leave numbers naked. Use parentheses. That's all it's trying to say. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Smoo: Get ready to face the walls! For effects, you want run_animation, not force_instant_terrain_redraw. EDIT: And you could combine this with play_sound using run_animation_sound. I wrote an article on this that you may find useful. He said, oh, somewhere -- I just read about a million interviews with him, Googling +"jeff vogel" +interview -- that he wishes he could have fancier graphics and sounds, and that's the only appeal of a big company to him. He said in the same interview that he isn't sure he'd like working with lots and lots of other people, that a three-person company is just about right for him. And I doubt he'd like relinquishing creative control. So Jeff pretty much is Spiderweb, and Spiderweb is Jeff. I don't think that will change any time soon. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Stug, my impression was that he was saying that he is kind of like what you were at his age, going by your description. High school was good for me only because I had the incredible good fortune to go to a very good one. Because of the number of APs I was taking, I was effectively doing college in high school by junior year, which was nice -- high school really doesn't need to be four years; two or three will do just fine for the material you're supposed to learn. And yes, there was FAR too much pressure to date, but that hasn't died off yet in college. It kind of irritates me, because at this particular moment I really don't want a girlfriend, but all the guys around seem to be able to think of nothing else but finding a girl. -------------------- Kelandon's Pink and Pretty Page!!
