The only kind of script that gets called between moves in combat is a terrain script. If you put this in a terrain script's START_STATE and set the script's mode to 3 (so it would be called every turn), then this state would get called between every single PC move — but even then, I don't think it would get called between every monster move, so I don't think that would help much. Eh, no. I don't know how one might do this effectively. A warning, especially if you can make it plot-related and in-game sensical, might be best. EDIT: Oh, duh. Put it in the START_STATEs of the creature scripts of the creatures nearby, too, so it will be called on every monster move also. That should cover all of your bases. 1) This should not be in Tech Support. It should be in Avernum Trilogy. 2) Double-posting is bad. Note that there are two of these threads that say the same thing. Don't do that. 3) I'm not entirely sure what you're talking about (Portal H?), but I'm pretty sure that this page can help you. I'm pretty sure you have to go through a secret passage in the northeast and touch the rune at least once in order to change the destination of that portal. quote:I don't think you'll find it characterized as anything else anywhere, though. Much as I am afraid to disagree with you, I think it is an RPG, for the reason that Alorael gave. EDIT: Except I didn't bother to draw the fine semantic distinction that he did. Meh. I'm not too familiar with the Exile system, but I am pretty sure you can start out with Conflagration, or if not, at least get it very quickly. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. It claims, "Deus Ex combines elements of a 3D shooter with RPG traits." After a glance at the site, though, I tend to agree with you. I like RPGs. I don't like FPSs. I don't think I'd like Deus Ex. Therefore, it seems like more of a FPS than a real RPG. :P -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. I believe the shortcut is (o), IIRC. I have no idea why Jeff created this option. It is extremely annoying. I'd hit it accidentally when reaching to cast a priest spell, and for a while I didn't know what was going on. I don't think I ever used the character editor in any of the Avernum games, although I did use hint books. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Others have found this canister, although I am not sure which skill is required to shape them. I think it would be cool to be able to get "Create Ornk" at level 3 and make a monstrous ornk. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Well, if one were to consider Soviet equivalent to Russian, then the fact that he was born Soviet would mean that he was born Russian. Ukrainians speak Russian, right? They're not like other ethnic groups formerly in the Soviet Union (like the Georgians, say) who are completely different from Russians, as I recall. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Because Avernum Annotated Maps is amazing, it does in fact have all the locations of mandrake. One that you can find in the demo is west of Formello in the Nephilim Fortress, specifically in the Upper Nephilim Fortress in a room just southwest of the stairs (although I believe the path you have to take toget there is a bit more complicated). -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Reviving threads is, around here, considered horribly bad form unless you have something new and important to say on the topic. Download a new demo. Then e-mail Spiderweb. Tell them the name and address (I believe those are the two things they want) under which you registered before, and give them the number corresponding to the new game that you downloaded. They'll send you a new key. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Smoo: Get ready to face the walls!
