As an aside, I've always wondered why all the short people I know wish they were taller. I'm 6'2'', myself, and I'm always wishing I was a good deal shorter. Also wondering about society's current obsession with large breasts. Back in the '20s, boyish was in. Then it was voluptuous, then it was thin, and now we've got this ludicrous obsession with women who are both thin and large-chested. What a load of crap. Some of the most attractive girls I know are a foot shorter than me and almost flat-chested. I also know extremely attractive girls who are taller than me and are extremely well-endowed. I don't think it matters, in the long run. Sexiness is 50% a state of mind and 50% in the eyes of the beholder, who probably has all sort of weird things he or she finds attractive. Not that it matters, coming from a 16-year-old computer geek, but I think lots of females (and males, actually) obsess way too much over their appearance. Makeup and all that. Not that I'm suggesting that any of you do that; I wouldn't know. Physical appearance definitely does matter, but in a different way. I've always thought that a girl needs to be not ugly enough that I can fall in love with their soul and mind -- and then their face will be the most beautiful thing in the world. Just a thought. -------------------- desperance.net - honestly, no biting. Posts: 1074 | Registered: Wednesday, October 3 2001 07:00 |

The Sir David Post Template! (Ignore all previous posts if you disagree) (Say something obfuscated that ends up being offensive if anyone bothers to read it) --- I love how you compared homosexuals to cripples there. Good job. Hawkie said, and I agree, that you're the cripple. If I can control my sexual orientation just for the sake of some old book and finger-waggers, I think you can control your massive bigotry and ignorance. Funny you should mention Einstein. Albert Einstein was a man of great genius, but his religion crippled him from time to time -- look up the cosmological constant. -------------------- desperance.net - honestly, no biting. Posts: 1074 | Registered: Wednesday, October 3 2001 07:00 |

Not to put this thread back on the original topic or anything, but I was born and raised in a Christian (Episcopal church) household, and am a nontheist. I don't have any real metaphysical beliefs about God or the afterlife or whatever; I don't think it really matters when you get down to it. It's about living your life on Earth and making the best of it. Philosophies I loosely identify with: taoism, zen Buddhism, Discordianism, Camus existentialism, Epicurianism. Way I see it, if you're not happy and comfortable with your life, you're doing something wrong. -------------------- desperance.net - honestly, no biting. David, babe, it was the power of love that brought me back. Here to preach the word of tolerance and respect, honeybunch. It doesn't hurt you if I choose to stick my johnson in some guy, does it? Not at all. You wouldn't even know, would you? Also, sweetkins, why's it up to you to decide what's a sin and what isn't? Wasn't it the Big JC himself who said "JUDGE NOT LEST YE BE JUDGED?" Why don't you take care of your immortal soul, and I will take care of mine, hm, dearie? Why don't you leave the judgement to God and just allow people to live peaceful lives the way they choose? Why must you be such a harpy about it? -------------------- desperance.net - honestly, no biting. Posts: 1074 | Registered: Wednesday, October 3 2001 07:00 |

Remember when post count actually seemed to have something to do with the value of a member? That the people who had lots of posts were often the more well-spoken, intelligent veterans, who were already respected not for their post counts but for their content? Then Alorael came around, and that all went in the porcelain. -------------------- desperance.net - honestly, no biting. Posts: 1074 | Registered: Wednesday, October 3 2001 07:00 |
