ToS has been offending people for a thousand some posts, actually. Remember SM? Yes, it's him.

—Alorael, who believes in second chances, not clean slates. Although spam isn't so much offensive as irritating, at least in only moderate quantities.

Most people here are introverts despite the fact that only one out of four people are introverts in general. That says something about people who play Spiderweb games, people who join online boards, or both.

—Alorael, who is the same as Thuryl and Schrodinger (in letters, not percents), and exactly opposite Real One Arcade. This can be the basis for new cliques and discrimination!

Along with the political compass test, here's another measure of Spiderweb personalities.

The Myers-Briggs personality test

[Edit: Better subject.]

—Alorael, who is INTJ at 86%, 56%, 89%, 20%. No, that won't make sense until you take the test.

I suppose there are fundamentalist Quakers just like anything else, but somehow I can't picture it. The Quaker philosophy itself more or less precludes rabid, exclusive faith.

—Alorael, who wouldn't let anything surprise him, though. If there can be fundamentalist atheists, and there most definitely are, there can be fundamentalist anythings.

I don't speak French, but I'd guess it means "Don't violate the beautiful French language any more if you [want?] to live."

—Alorael, who isn't sure about the wanting. Regardless of French, this discourse does not belong in Tech Support. Posting simple agreements usually isn't helpful either.

This ranks high on the list of topics that are simply excuses to spam. As such, it will be sniped.

Yes, all Dells are PC's. If it worked at all, he downloaded the right version. As a Mac user, I can't help much. Make sure you downloaded the special version of DirectX, not just the newest version.

—Alorael, who would also download E3 again just for good measure. It's always possible that the download was corrupted.

If you have to put it up, get someone else to host it. I think Jeff would burst some important blood vessels if someone used that much space and bandwidth for the picture. Not to mention the loading times...

—Alorael, who can't even imagine the agony of the dialup users if they had to load an image posted directly here, not just posted through a link.

Be honest, NaCN. You don't actually care if the topic is closed or not. You just love that graemlin.

—Alorael, who is rather partial to it as well. But he will not lock the topic. It has not done anything to deserve dying the death yet.

How hard can it be to create an image that's, say, 50,000 by 50,000 pixels in the maximum number of colors your computer can support, which each pixel randomly chosen but different from its neighbors?

—Alorael, who doesn't think it would quick, or fun, to produce such an image. But it wouldn't be terribly difficult.

If you get a computer in your eyes, rinse them under cold water for five minutes. If irritation persists, call a doctor or tech support.

—Alorael, who couldn't resist. Actually, it's best if you make sure there isn't a lot of glare on your screen and that there is enough light to see easily.

Polaris is hosted by Lady J, who despite having vanished still hosts and still seems to have infinite bandwidth.

—Alorael, who appreciates SMoE's subtlety and tact in discussing certain semi-conspiratorial activities that may or may not be happening on a board which may or may not be Polaris.

There are also Jews for Jesus. I don't know if they consider themselves Christian, but I certainly do.

—Alorael, who always wants to know if they would still be Jews for Jesus if the phrase weren't so attractively alliterative. Maybe that's the only reason there are no Buddhists for Mohammad or Catholics for Nirvana.

I have it on reasonably good authority that you've misspelled that word. It should be "...schifffahrts..." Not that it makes any difference, since I'm sure there are much easier way to say that someone is the captain of an... er... steamship company?

—Alorael, who would like to know what happened to spaces dividing words. Sometimes compound words work, and other times they really ought to be decently divided into bite-sized pieces.

What feature that the Avernum series lacked would you most like to see in BoA? in Blades of Avernum

Experience is distributed equally, not by kill. The ability to do 400 damage in one round would far outweigh any defense penalty, and even a second attack with only half the strength would be too much. Lower the damage of the second hit too much and it's worthless at lower levels, though.

—Alorael, who doesn't see the point to the discussion. Jeff won't do it. Changing the inventory and equipment system would take too much effort, and if he's willing to spend time he should work on more important additions that people want, like NPC's.

Make kills from your summons give you experience? in Blades of Avernum

I don't know about tactical depth, but it would be nice to not have all the summoning spells rendered virtually useless since depending on them cripples you in the long run.

—Alorael, who still probably wouldn't use summoning. It's more fun to splatter yourself with ichor and gore than watch other things get splattered.

What!? A padded cell with no skribbane, no rifle, and no window to snipe from? Thank you, I'd rather tie myself up and have myself mailed to Scorpius. Well, maybe not, but I definitely don't think a padded cell is a good place.

Vengeance can certainly keep you looking young!

—Alorael, who also suspects that Erika takes advantage of her skills with altering life. After all, if she could recreate Avernum's ecosystem to make it more hospitable to humans, a little bit of maintenance on herself shouldn't be hard.

It doesn't matter what it's supposed to be. This is no longer a romance language. It is a Desperance language!

—Alorael, who expects to see the Scorched Earth-Desperance alliance conquer the world in his lifetime. Hey, at least the war is more justified than the liberation of Iraq.

Link fixed. The problem was just the addition of a period at the end of the sentence. The period ended up inside the tag, and browsers can't handle that well.

—Alorael, who will not bother visiting. It's an ezboard for a PC game. As a Mac user who hates ezboard with a passion, he thinks he'll stay well away.

No, this was a religious discussion. That's the same thing, only less civilized.

—Alorael, who believes the universe formed because it can only exist with observation. Thus, the almost infinitely small probability that it would come into existence caused it to come into existence.

It's not nice to judge someone after knowing them for only a short time. Two posts, even if it took a year to make them, is a short time.

Maybe. I'm still trying to figure out what language their speaking or whether the substance that enables them to communicate would make an adequate skribbane substitute.

—Alorael, who would also like to see this Stuff before dishing out the custom titles. Who knows, maybe there is a good explanation?

Well, I'm not a frog. I can't speak French better than TM. I can't speak French worse than him, because he is the worst (dead French, anyone?), but I can't speak it better.

—Alorael, who inserted the parenthetical explanation in order to explain. Only TM has the mastery of French. Dead.
