That answer is not relevant to the question being asked. Please only post in response to a question or a request when you can manage to address the problem. —Alorael, who is addressing a problem right now. It's definitely relevant. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

Ember flowers were only used for Resurrection Balm as far as I can remember. —Alorael, who liked Exile's more interestingly named ingredients. The redundancy of interchangeable items made them still act like Spiritual Herbs without actually having to be called Spiritual Herbs. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

Given Tyran's known affinity for Apple, I'd conclude he's got an Apple Developer Connection before assuming illegal downloading. Granted, that's rather expensive, but maybe Tyran has deep pockets and a deep appreciation for Leopard. —Alorael, who wishes he had deep pockets too. Not just for Apple, either. You'll notice that N:R is dirt cheap if you already have Nethergate. You get what you pay for: an upgrade that's more than a patch and less than a rewrite. —Alorael, who would have paid the full price for the game just to play Nethergate on OS X. Access to the scripts is a bonus. So are the new dungeons. Even the balance tweaking is really just gravy. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

I miss the outdoors. I miss boats a little bit after how much buying a boat in Silvar opened up E1/A1 and the fun of A2's chapter 2, but even A3 started to phase boats out. Flying was just never that integral a part of the games. In exchange for transportation and outdoors, you get a lot of nice things in A4. Area of effect spells, bows that aren't terrible, combat that actually rewards a modicum of thought, the ability to click to move, pylons to spare yourself tedious journeys, and more. As far as the engine goes, I think A4 was a big step forward. —Alorael, who even likes the Averforge graphics. He's apparently in the minority, which proves that everyone else is crazy. The only change he really thinks should be advocated is a return to the original save file system rather than these newfangled slots that take up inordinate amounts of disk space. Also, if the methanol didn't break down any more it wouldn't be a problem. Methanol itself isn't so terrible, which is why the treatment for methanol poisoning is more (non-wood) alcohol. —Alorael, who should have known that no tomato would ever naturally be as sweet as the one he just had with dinner. Jewel of Recall says A3, and A3 is beatable without flight. It may be impossible to stop the golem plague, but you don't need to deal with them to get permission to access Footracer Province and move on in the game. —Alorael, who really could see A3 as a very short game if Prazac would just send some moderately competent soldiers and wizards and such into Footracer immediately instead of the useless quarantine. A better way of putting it is that he planned not to make the class because it would be too powerful. —Alorael, who agrees. That doesn't mean he doesn't wish he had that overpowered class. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

There's no boxed game. You can order a CD if you want, but the standard registration gets you a code by email. Or by phone, if you order by phone. Or by mail, if you really want it by mail. —Alorael, who should point out that the distribution isn't digital. You download the game, but orders are processed by a real, live human being who takes nights, weekends, and holidays off. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

The government is guilty of many things, but answering to the bottom line is most assuredly not one of them. —Alorael, who sometimes thinks that's one of the problems. Government isn't even responsible to itself. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

The American government's competency can be questioned, and its ideological biases sometimes become problematic, and its ties to industry sometimes obstruct justice, but it really means well! That's blue. Bleached, too, but his hair is blue. —Alorael, who is willing to concede naked blue guys. And also blue shields, apparently. And pants, but that doesn't go so well with naked. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

quote:Aspartame may cause cancer if you eat enough. Calories cause obesity if you eat enough. Granted, the risk of cancer is greater if aspartame really is a problem, but it may not be one. —Alorael, who stands by his original statement. If aspartame is a carcinogen, you have to decide whether you'd rather risk diabetes, heart disease, and so on or risk cancer. It's your call. Step 1: Take a screenshot. On a Mac, use Apple-Shift-3 for a full screenshot or Apple-Shift-4 to choose which area to take a picture of. On Windows, use the Print Screen button or Alt-Print Screen. Step 2: Host your image, possibly after cropping. ImageShack is good. Step 3: Link to the image. In UBB Code, that's [ Image ] http://your image [ /image ], but with the spaces taken out of the brackets. —Alorael, who hopes that explains sufficiently. Now he'll wait with baited breath for your images. And he'll be grateful if they're not unnecessarily immense. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

Andrew isn't any more canon than Ezekiel. It explains where the name came from in Jeff's mind, but not in any meaningful Ermarian way. —Alorael, who just can't picture Solberg as an Andrew. He also can't picture him as an Ezekiel, though. Some mages only get one name. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

quote:Because I'm feeling less polite than Aran, I feel the need to point out that Aran was asking for surnames, not a list of given names. And Rentar-Ihrno definitely isn't one of the Five. —Alorael, who can't find Kilser anywhere in the text of any Spiderweb game. Are you sure it's actually in there?
