Just tell your characters that if they don't smarten up, you'll take a leaf out of Terry Brooks' Voyage of the Jerle Shannara book (haha pun) and kill off about half of them in interesting ways. That should work... -------------------- Encyclopaedia Ermariana • Forum Archives • Forum Statistics • RSS [Topic / Forum] My Blog • Polaris • I eat novels for breakfast. And round and round we go! It's the topic that never ends! And another one, and another one, and another one... Haha! Well, okay. No lock. Seeing as at least it looks like a good discussion, in spite of having been held a few dozen times. --- This message was brought to you by The Deranged Moderators Self-Help Group. What's it called... Groundhog Day? But only for oldbies, who have seen all the threads before. Well, I exaggerated a bit (and since I said it, I've worked on my notes). The first few scenes, I have managed to work out. I roughly know where I'm going, up to the climax of the story. The only problem is that I have no idea as to the resolution. -------------------- Encyclopaedia Ermariana • Forum Archives • Forum Statistics • RSS [Topic / Forum] My Blog • Polaris • I eat novels for breakfast. When was the last time that: You showered? Ten hours ago; I rise late on weekends. You lost your cell phone? Where? For more than 10 minutes, longer than I remember. Otherwise, a week ago, under my bed. You lost your keys? Locked them somewhere? In the office, half a year. At home, 11 months. You cut your hair? I never cut my own hair. Last haircut was a few months ago. You overslept? Sleeping longer than I intended, this morning. With causing bad consequences (coming late for work), a few weeks ago. Current: Mode of transportation? Bicycle. Sometimes train. Rarely car, driven by parents. Book you are reading? Neil Stephens, Cryptonomicon. Lois McMaster Bujold, Shards of Honor(rereading). Our Very Own BSC/Senlias/Dios, Numistria. Model of cell phone? A Nokia 6800 I have owned for nearly three years. Jewlery you are wearing? Er... I don't. Game you are playing? Puzzle Pirates. Fav: Cartoon? you can include cartoons that you used to like Girl Genius (by Studio Foglio, which also made graphics for SW games, by the way), Userfriendly, Order of the Stick, Dungeon Crawl Inc, Drowtales, Dilbert. As far as paperback comics go, Carl Barks and Don Rosa are my favorites (both drawing Donald Duck). Baseball team? What the hell is Baseball? Location? 50°47'14'' North, 6°4'17'' East SW oldbie Alorael, Riibu and ef (in order of member number). SW newbie? Dikiyoba :P Have you ever? Stalked someone? Mh. Not in that sense. But I have used Google, Whois and Google Earth in devious ways. Been in love? A crush or two, both with predictable outcomes. Missed TM? Every day. Gotten lost? Several times, in the town I've lived in for the last two years. Thrown a pie at someone? Nope. The waste, there terrible waste! Random First quote that pops into your head? "This is how liberty dies, with thunderous applause." (Amidala, StarWars 3) Name a red object in your room A towel. Name a song that makes you sad Tricky. Let's say Into the West (LotR 3 soundtrack) by Annie Lennox. If you could remove a person from history, who would it be? Let's not get political, okay? But as far as history goes, I'd hesitate to meddle, because you could never know what you end up with... If you could call someone a 'best friend', who would that be? Not quite sure. As far as late-night, tired rambles on AIM go, FZ and Riibu come closest (though I haven't talked to FZ in ages :/ ). No one in real life beyond immediate family, I think... Edit: You don't know what I changed. :phear: [ Sunday, October 22, 2006 11:21: Message edited by: Robert Daniel Oliver ] -------------------- Encyclopaedia Ermariana • Forum Archives • Forum Statistics • RSS [Topic / Forum] My Blog • Polaris • I eat novels for breakfast. The Nanowrimo topic was posted in General. But I posted a question about Vahnatai in BoA, and then posted the novel there too. And a good thing it turned out to be, because in General, it would probably have been gone by now. :) Edit: I'll add you too, Siru/Milla, if that's all right. Didn't I just start a topic for this? ... oh wait, that was a year ago. >_< My how the time flies. Yes, I was in last year, and the year before as well. I tried it three years ago too, but didn't finish. So this'll be my fourth attempt, and if I finish, it'll be the third success. And maybe, it could even be the first one that doesn't suck, although I haven't got much hope for that. And welcome back, Milla! It's been some time, hasn't it? :) [ Sunday, October 22, 2006 01:30: Message edited by: Robert Daniel Oliver ] -------------------- Encyclopaedia Ermariana • Forum Archives • Forum Statistics • RSS [Topic / Forum] My Blog • Polaris • I eat novels for breakfast. A4 Bows are already effectively all Adlerauge (minus the insane damage) with their infinite ammo. Which is in line with the only way to make it challenging being basically to play it Creator-style, with a singleton in Torment. --- Given that, I guess adding crossbows would be overkill, quite literally. And I like the Avernum 4 theme. There goes your theory, again. But seriously, Avernum 3 is my favorite game, and Avernum 2 comes in third or so. Still, the intro theme of Avernum 2 is awesome. If whoever produced it made a piece of a few minutes based on the theme, it would be one of my favorite music pieces. --- Exile I's Bach fugue would win, but it's not an intro theme. I really can't decide. They all rock, even if they're only 10 seconds long. But I especially love the melancholic intro theme of Avernum 2, and the Celtic-y music of Nethergate. Avernum 3 and Blades of Avernum also had a nice one. I can't remember how Exile 3 sounded, I'll have to try that again. I'm pretty sure there were no intro themes in the Windows version of Exile 1 and 2. -------------------- Encyclopaedia Ermariana • Forum Archives • Forum Statistics • RSS [Topic / Forum] My Blog • Polaris • I eat novels for breakfast. In the way of movies, I own only Pirates of the Carribbean (I do have several other DVDs, some as data backups and several games). My parents have the Lord of the Rings trilogy, however, and my sister has several, including a lot of CSI. A die-hard fan, I guess. But since the rest of her movies are mostly soaps, CSI and Lord of the Rings are about the only thing we can agree on.
