Seriously, you will. DVDs are not toys. They are an incredible delivery system for worthy television shows which somehow never were noticed until several seasons had passed. I can think of several I missed, and having now watched, am sorry. My viewership may have kept them from cancellation-land.

Currently I'm watching Firefly. Just finished disc 2.

I have watched Freaks & Geeks with enjoyment, although few cast members continued in worthy roles. Malcolm itM needs more seasons released on DVD. 24:Season 1 will be the next serial in this house.

Please, name your favorites in the vast pool of forgottens.

As far as DVD collections go, I have the first season of Futurama, the first two seasons of the Simpsons, all 5 seasons of Andromeda, the first 4 seasons of Stargate SG1, all 7 seasons of Star Trek the Next Generation, all 7 of Star Trek Deep Space Nine, and the first season of Boston Legal. I have many more complete seasons and/or series that I have received through undisclosed means. :P

Just call them 'net flicks and don't worry about the confusion.

Other than that, I am a bit concerned when I see a collection that involved ST:This and ST:That. Are they all so freaking awesome that you needed to save them forever? Or are you just the type of person that likes that type of show and thinks every other worthwhile human being should think likewise?

The only DVD's I own are not important and dilute the meaning of this thread (about television series which have been cancelled or otherwise ended). The rest are rentals, like GOD INTENDED US TO SEE THEM!!!!

It would take far too long to list all of my movie on here. As for different Star Trek spinoffs, I can honestly say that I really like both Next Generation and Deep Space Nine.

For DVD series, I have Da Ali G Show seasons 1-2, Ren & Stimpy all seasons, and Star Trek the Original Series all seasons.

I have too many DVD movies to name. The most important include SpaceBalls, Braveheart (you haven't seen this movie until you've watched the battle scenes in slow motion), Labrynth, Bad Taste and Evil Dead (all three).

Tyranicus: I am impressed with your Star Trek collection, though I never understood how someone who enjoys the great Star Trek could enjoy Stargate as well.

My lack of a television also extends to DVD collections of TV shows. It's still nice.

Dikiyoba does own some movies, though. Namely, The Lord of the Rings trilogy and Schooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed.

Edit: Added paragraph about movies.

Edit 2: And italics.

Why? I know plenty of people who like both.

I don't own a single DVD. Like many things, I consider this both a badge of honor and a mark of shame.

I'm really only just getting into Star Trek. As for Starwars... don't get me started.

The only DVD series I own is the first season of The Dead Zone. Pretty good, IMHO.

In the way of movies, I own only Pirates of the Carribbean (I do have several other DVDs, some as data backups and several games).

My parents have the Lord of the Rings trilogy, however, and my sister has several, including a lot of CSI. A die-hard fan, I guess.

But since the rest of her movies are mostly soaps, CSI and Lord of the Rings are about the only thing we can agree on.

Hm... my DVD collection is rather small. Dogma, South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut, Bruce Almighty, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and Waking Life. But everyone I live with is currently hooked on someone's several seasons' worth of the show Nip/Tuck.

...or I would if cash and space were limitless.

What I do clutter my shelves with:

Animation (good animation) a couple dozen perhaps.

Sci-fi (good sci-fi) this leaves about a dozen or less.

Fantasy (good fantasy) this leaves very few.

Robert DeNiro/heist movies: this accounts for a surprisingly chunky handful, Heat and Ronin being favorites.

Six spooky movies.

Several period pieces, which may or may not include Jane Austen titles.

Amelie, City of Lost Children, and Delicatessen.

For TV, I only have seasons 1, 2, and 3 of Seinfeld and season 1 of the Venture Bros.

Way too many movies to list, but I'm proud of my Indiana Jones boxed set and Blade Runner and Omega Man, just to name a few.

I got Firefly because it contained the unaired episodes from the original run. Mostly I have DVDs for shows that I liked and can't see elsewhere.

Actually a fun one is Himalayas with Michael Palin where he is talking with a famous poet in Nepal and the only song he had written was Im a Lumberjack that he could remember and then only part.

Still I bought some for the extras.

Wow, I actually have DVDs; I don't remember buying most of them. I don't think I have many, but so far I can see

The Ring
Eight Mile
Sixth Sense
Weird Science or something, how in the world do I have that?
North Country
Andrea (Don't ask)

And apparently there are many more. Meh, I don't feel like mentioning them all. Looks like my DVD collection is whatever other people left at my house or random purchases by the people living here. I'd love to have Seinfeld, Friends, and South Park but I don't see myself paying 40 bucks for either any time soon.

That -X- is way to overused in your posts. It's at a point where I just skip over your posts now. I've got nothing against you using it, but can you just use it a little less?

Just stop feeding the trolls.

I don't have any tv DVD collections, but having Futurama would be nice. Or Seinfeld.
The only movies I own are:
Kill Bill 1&2
What Dreams May Come
Dogma

Edit: Aw, come on. Go ahead and feed the troll. It could be fun to watch him chew your arm off.

Jewels - who is of the humble opinion that -X- is a loving oldbie who is responding to Alorael's statement that we need more trolls to liven up the boards. -X- is just doing his/her part to revitalize our sorry post count stats.

Original post begins here ---

Our video collection consists of over 250 VHS tapes with 4-6 hours of taped entertainment each, over 100 store bought VHS movies, and over 50 store bought DVD movies.

Of that collection, the only TV series I have are StarTrek and Hard Times on Planet Earth both taped off the TV. HToPE was a great show. Anybody else remember it?

I'm of the humble opinion that he just gave all of his sanity to the fluffy turtles. But that's just me.

I have many, many VHS tapes lying around. Not that I ever watch them, but...
