Each Spiderweb game has a little bit of music that plays along with the title screen, which also includes a nice picture as well. Which little theme song is your favorite? Hmm. Tough call. I haven't heard any of the Exile music. I wouldn't say that Nethergate is my favorite, but I wouldn't want any other music for it. I don't really like A1's title music. I really like A2's, though. I also like G1 and G2's music. And for some reason, I think G3's music would fit A4 better and A4's music would fit G3 better. Dikiyoba voted for Avernum 2. Avernum 2: Yeah, clearly electric guitar and piano set a great mood for a fantasy rpg. Geneforge 3: When I see the title screen, with a shaper and two mysterious creations busting through a door ready to launch their attack, I am highly let down by the lighthearted pipes and whatnot in the theme music. Geneforge 2: My choice. Epic. It fits the title screen and sets the mood for the game well. It makes me want to wave my arms around like I’m some kind of shaper lord. I'll have to go with the GF2 Intro music, although the Exile II Background Music is pretty cool. I'm surprised to see so many votes for the Avernum 2 one. A1 and A2 sound like something out of a Dire Straits song (I think I've said that before). I wasn't aware E1 had intro music. I believe it's just swords clanging. E2 is just a short harp glissando, although I suppose it's more musical than E1. I wish I could put the Exile intro music up on my site. Does anyone know of a program to extract embedded files from 16-bit applications? I've heard the eXeScope can do this, but I can't find a working download. Nethergate by far, then A2. After that none of the intros really stand out in my mind. —Alorael, who doesn't mind electric guitar in a fantasy setting at all. That little bit of music captures the caves' mood, especially that wonderful Chapter 2 where you're on your own and the fate of Avernum, nay, the world rests on your shoulders. I think we can begin to form a theory here. Nethergate is a community favorite, and its music seems to be the most popular. Avernnum 2 is generally a close second, and its music is very popular as well. Could it be that people base their opinion on which game is the best on the music? I really can't decide. They all rock, even if they're only 10 seconds long. But I especially love the melancholic intro theme of Avernum 2, and the Celtic-y music of Nethergate. Avernum 3 and Blades of Avernum also had a nice one. I can't remember how Exile 3 sounded, I'll have to try that again.
