I usually name all my characters after body parts, especially the naughty bits. It makes me snicker.
Or characters from bad 80s cartoons, such as Schmendrick or Orko.

All this Mac vs PC talk is kinda silly IMHO. I doubt any of us will switch platforms unless we're either highly dissatisfied with what we're using or due to forces beyond our control (school computers, etc), or the lure of Open Source beckons you. It's like trying to convert someone to your religion, which is usually a futile task.

I'm a Mac user myself and just switched my work computer to OS X. It seems as though Apple has sacrificed a lot of the user-friendly features and tools for some whiz-bang appearance upgrade. I know Apple has always been known for their 'visual styling', but this sucks. I'll give it a week, if it still sucks, i'm going back to OS 9.

The lb abbreviation comes from the Latin word for scale, Libra. The rest, I know not.

Judging from the denizens of my street, i'm a genius. Judging from my private-school friends, i'm slightly below average.

Map out a design, with dimensions. Bring rope, string, wire, etc., that is cut to said dimensions. Place two stakes that will be your central axis. Use a 2x4 (wooden plank) tethered to said axes to push down grain. Bring a compass for perfect orientation.

It's a little heavy-handed to draw a correlation between the FCC's censorship of obscenities to public surveillance. Times change, as can be seen by George Carlin's "7 words you can't say on television", which is now down to five, and working on four.
As for surveillance, public or private, I'm against it. Modern society's obsession with safety (including excessive hygiene) is quite irrational.
Government should be as transparent as possible, but individual privacy should be vehemently protected. The internet already allows access to quite enough information to be able to completely ruin someone's life.

Those are the ones with the power to destabilize entire countries in a matter of hours.

I've always wanted to go, but if you if any of what Irvine Welsh writes is true, all Americans are good for is to rob them, beat them up, and insult them.
Plus, i can't understand those burrs.

Iraqi aftermath in General

I'm questioning the logic employed here. The decline in the non-immigrant population is what brought about the US' dominance in the first place; the Iroquois weren't about to get into trench warfare. It only takes one generation to lose your immigrant status, and the INS still has a pretty strong grip on how many of who gets in the country (mexican waders and wilderness hikers exempted). Also, immigrants make great cannon fodder.

As for the subject at hand, how about big brother Poindexter and his insane 'terrorism futures market'? Even though he'll be made to resign, this just sheds further light on the flabbergasting cynicism within the adminstration.

There are voluntary and involuntary reflexes. You can stop your eyes from blinking, but not your heart from beating (although certain buddhists would disagree). The two are handled by different regions of the brain, thus making it (nearly) impossible for you to control them.
As for the calculator question, it depends on your calculator. If you have a scientific calculator, it will be 35+(78*3), if you have a Casio calculator watch, it'll be the incorrect way.

Does anyone know any interesting facts about James K. Polk? I'm familiar with his major accomplishments, but i'm looking for quirks, odd habits, dirty laundry, etc.

I've been to three funerals already this year.
Although I don't believe in god or heaven, I do believe that the deceased live on in our memories. So as long as you occasionally stop and think about them, they'll always be with you.

Point of fact:
Saddam is still alive. As is Osama bin Laden.
Until proven otherwise.

And if Iraq really did have WMD, don't you think they would have used them when they would have had the most effect, as all the American and British troops were jammed in Kuwait? Nothing of the sort ever happened.
