I'm not offended. Sad to hear what you've had to face, but not offended. I mean, the very few times I've been on that, my partner would do all the talking, and she politely asked if they, whoever was at the door, accept to take some of the magazines (for no better word, I really wouldn't use that for them) and if they said no, we would just leave. I don't know, if it's just that bad over there, but as far as I know, it isn't like over here, in Finland. I apologize for them, it sounds they've been really rude. Excessively so. Though.. maybe you should move to Finland so you wouldn't be annoyed by us anymore (kidding, again). But it really isn't that bad. 144000 only go to heaven, yes. Those who don't go, eventually get (darn, I need a good dictionary) resurrected and then they get to live in paradise, on earth, forever. Happily. The rest just cease to exist.. there's no hell and we certainly don't believe in it. The blood thing.. well, from what I can translate from my bible (my english is getting worse and worse by the minute): Blood transfusions insult the sacrity of blood. We aren't allowed to eat blood either. I really don't have an excellent answer to that one, I'm afraid. I'm sorry about that. I really can't answer in any way to that. I suppose it really can be nasty trying to just live on without the constant buggering we sometimes do. I don't think it's like that in here, Finland though. I've never heard of anyone actually doing such things you're previously said about. Well, the bible is.. well, I'm sre you've heard it. I only know how to say it Finnish and this darn dictionary over here has no good answers at all. And I've never heard of such story. You know what really bugs me in this thread? People typing my name wrong. It's Riibu, really, please. If you're gonna mention me somehow, somewhere, I'd rather you took the very small trouble to actually look at the name I use and put it in your post instead of the wrong one.. It is a lovely sunny midday, and Riibu is just in sight of a small village. The village isn't all bundled together, but some huts and homes are a bit further alongside the vast, glimmering silvery blue lake. Some of the bit bigger houses have chimneys, where smoke's curling upwards, and the huts closest to the lake clearly have fishing nets hung on the front-side. The sound of busy village life reaches Riibu's ears and buzzes around her head in a rush. Then it speeds up and disappears over the hill to unknown lands, where it will spread the scent of fresh fish around and make people miss the sea. Ah, the sea... Riding closer, she not only notices the cheery people, but also signs of worn-out houses, little gardens gone wild and people who quite certainly have not everything fine. Near the docks she spots the usual inn and proceeds to get off the horse and then inside the inn. It's a bit dim in there, but the strong presence of alcohol makes her quickly backtrack, at the same time knocking some guy behind her down to the ground. "Hey!", the guy yells as he hits the ground. "Sorry, but you know, um, sorry." The guy looks at Riibu disbelieving. She shrugs and says: "The place is full of alcohol." "I know. Help me up, girl." Riibu grabs his outstretched hand and heaves him up. "You wouldn't, ah, know any other place that wasn't so immoral, but still .. full of people?" "No, we don't have a church in our village.." "No, I don't mean a church! I meant a more general place.. you know?" "Ah. Well, then you should go to the item shop, that shack over there", and he points in direction of a grayish house with a misfit garden. Though unbelieving, she thanks the guy and heads that way. She happens to glance behind her and then she sees something odd: some old women looking her way and the house's way, shaking their heads disapprovingly. She still decides to ignore them and continue her way. Rather some house, than a place full of that evil liquid which takes away all wits. The shadowy shop seems like a place where all work has stopped, but when Riibu watches closely, she can see a hunched shape seated near the common table. There is no items on the table, except a few small pouches. The shape, seemingly like a man, reaches his hand and picks up one of the small pouches. The man whispers barely out loud: "You ought to have grown.. I need you.. I need, but you refuse to help me.. The leaves! Drink.. Green..", and the man shakes with slight mad giggles. Suddenly someone grabs Riibu's arm and drags her away from the entrance. A weary looking woman scowls at her. "What are you doing here?? You leave our family alone, we have had enough!" "I'm sorry, I was told to come here.." "Don't lie to me girl!" "What's going on, love?" The person from inside the shop is behind Riibu, and yes, he is a man. Riibu has good time to inspect their looks while the woman tries to explain something about her to the dazed man. They are otherwise quite fine, except for rudeness and dirty clothes. And the man's fingers have green stains. Riibu interrupts their bickering: "Hey, fellas.. what's up with these?", she asks taking the man's and into her own and holding up few fingers, stained ones. Bot of them fall silent, but eventually the man speaks up: "From herbs. I grow.. herbs." "Oh, really?" The man nods at her, somewhat annoyed. "I happened to hear that the .. 'growing' wasn't going quite as planned..?" "Well, the year hasn't been all that good..-" "Be quiet, Winston!", the woman snaps. "You never know, the girl could be a spy", she says to him. "On the contrary, I believe I can be of help to you. You grow skribbane, do you not?" The couple looks at each other and then as by one thought, pull her inside. The woman closes the door behind them. "What do you want?" "I want to help, of course. You want skribbane, I can arrange it." "Hilda.. dear, you know we can't make .. it grow by ourselves. A little help is all we need." The woman still doesn't seem to completely believe, but somewhat agrees to him. "Excellent! You won't regret this", Riibu says going to a nearby window. She whistles a tune to outside, while the couple looks at her suspicious. Then a homing pigeon flies inside and onto Riibu's hand. She whispers something to it and attaches a custom note to it's leg. "To the inn, little one!" The pigeon takes it's leave and heads back to the inn. There, it will ::hopefully:: deliver the message to the commanding person. Sitting idly on a chair in the inn, nursing her hangover from the fort's party, Riibu is also quite certainly bored. Having been somewhat absent from recent happenings, she has noticed how practically everyone else has left away to do some sort of quest. Feeling a bit sad for herself, because she didn't get to go with them, she quietly thinks to herself, that perhaps she ought to do something, instead of just waiting for something to happen. "I ought to do something." Then a terrible ache makes her swear to never party again. After a while, she gets up and heads upstairs to go rest in her stuffy room. As she's climbing up the stairs, a thought strikes her sore head. Why, she has yet to travel and scout as much as she was suppose to! Of course, this is what she must do! Get on with the scouting and find some actual places for their ring to sell. Smiling, she nods to herself and then hurries quickly to her room. First she airs the room, because, well, she hadn't done so yet. Then she rummages through the already quiet messy room, trying to find her trusty staff. After locating that, she sits down on her (actually clean and fluffy) bed and sighs. "Now where on earth are those maps I'll be needing...?" Well, they were under the bed, inside a pink pouch. For some odd reason, there were also some reddish corks inside the puch... Looking suspiciously around, Riibu throws the corks in to the fireplace and lits a fire in it (to burn any evidence). She takes a trip to the kitchen, hurrying out before the cook would find out what all sorts of goodies she had taken for herself, and then, after the long delay, she steps out of the inn and starts her journey on to adventures. Then she returns to get some things she had forgotten. Like extra clothes. On to the adventure! But when she went to get the clothes, she forgot the pink pouch, which was just fine, excluding the colour, in her room. With the maps in it. After all sorts of hassle, she finally returns to her original mission and heads out in world. With a horse this time. OOC: :P I get to do stuff, and you don't. Nah nah :P . And you know what? Nethergate is, and always will be, my all-time favourite game (well, Spidweb at least). Why? It just is so great (though some things in, say, A3 would be improvement in it). It could be the fantasy in it (admit that E's/A's aren't THAT much like pure fantasy, and neither is Geneforge), and I've always adored historical games like that. It was my first experience in bigger games too. Before that it had always been Settlers (the first version I think). I just love it. -------------------- "I'm not crazy!" "Well, whatever. Eventually, Riibu returns from the fort. She staggers a bit and almost trips when she gets back to the inn. She giggles. Apparently, the drinks have not only been cheap at price, but many as well. "Aye, well... I eh... Hmm. *giggle* I think I'm uh drunk. Heh, I've never been that before... but you know, the guy who was waitering the drinks was so darn cute! And Alex took more than I did! The girl who waitered the drinks (no, really there was two of them), you know, she was pretty too. *pause* Not as pretty as me though. And.. I saw something.. I uh.. Hmm..." When ef shakes her head and turns to ask some random fella, if they had gotten any messages for her yet, Riibu suddenly seems to sober up. "I saw some guy offering people skribbane out there. He wasn't our guy", she says in a clear voice. "I think he may have been part of that other drug-ring you mentioned earlier." A loud pounding interrupts everyone. Apparently someone is outside and is hitting the inn's wall. After a while the noise stops. They send Alex, he being a mighty archmage and therefore quite capable of defending himself, outside to check the situation. When Alex opens the door and looks outside he sees a female soldier walking away, heading for the fort no doubt. Alex paces further outside of the inn and turns to look at the walls. He notices a paper nailed to the wall. He goes to it, glances it briefly and takes it off the wall. Reading it, he goes back inside. "There was just some soldier out there.. and I think she nailed this paper to the wall." People step closer to Alex while he clears his throat and starts to read out loud. "A Grand Festival! Everyone is welcome! Bring yourself to New Silvar Fort (close to New Silvar) to see all the fun and amazing tricks and things we have. Dance shows, illusionary tricks, anything! (plus, our inn offers drinks at a reduced price) Hurry! "A festival at a fort? Besides, since when have we had a fort near here?", someone says with a loud enough voice for everyone to hear. ef smiles at her. "So, are you better now?" Smiling back at her, Riibu walks down the stairs and goes next to them. "Slightly better. This party sounds nice though, I think it would be better for me to try to get over my sudden and odd depression. But, again, since when did we have a fort near here? Is it because the empire have finally noticed our criminal doings?" "No, no, no... It's actually a long story, but the commander of the fort is an old good friend of mine. We have nothing to worry. Except for that other drug ring..." "Another drug ring!? What? Oh, I've missed so many things.. Darnit!" Riibu stays quiet for a while, and then says: "Have we spied that fort?" ef blinks, but tells her that no. "Then I think.. I should go and see about it... And check this.. festival. As well." Then she leaves, feeling rather annoyed with herself. OOC: Sorry for taking advantage of your character Alex, but yours was just so conveniently there. Oh, and I've made a little lay-out for the fort.. but it's not finished. Yet. It's over here. And why? For those that won't be going on any missions.. they can have fun over there :) . (maybe I shoulda come up with more imaginative name, but hey, it's right next to New Silvar anyways) Be welcome ^_^. IC: A fort, of healthy size, appears next to New Silvar. When it's there, it seems like it's always been there. The fort is run by a woman, Carolyn B., strong and highly honoured by her soldiers and all of the people in the fort. There is a small inn, a weaponmaker, an armorer, a druid to help with all your herbic needs [OOC: no, not skribbane, I'm afraid], and many wonderful NPC's to chat to. And more, I'm sure. Currently, Carolyn is anguished by the threat of skribbane taking over the people in the fort, little by little. There are only few real addicts, but many have already 'tried' some. OOC: Hmm.. that wasn't the best post I've ever done, but I'm getting sleepy... it's quite late. Thank heavens, I get so very early from school tomorrow ;) . OOC: But, but, but.. but.. but.. where did the rest go? :( There's only 21 pages.. but there was more than 50.. and... and no 23 page.. I came on to the RP on the 23 page.. and now it's gone. I'm gone. Vanished, cleared out. Wasted, taken out, killed! Murdered.. It's gone! My sweet, happy memories of the beginning.. exciting beginning.. trashed. Away.... :( IC: Riibu had slept well and rested much since the battle with the haakai. She is almost ready to come down and join others, when suddenly an inexplicable feeling of sadness comes over her. She becomes so depressed, that she cannot leave the safety of her room, and therefore must stay inside for at least another day.
