Those colored graphics are a real distraction. They shouldn't be part of the database. Who cares about Blue Goblins anyway? It takes 2 seconds to make the graphic.

Great to see what's coming up for BoA. The BoE was terribly constricting for me. Things I wanted to pull off had to be faked most of the time--but this looks much better. Since I know a few programming languages, I'll finally be able to make some of the things I wanted to. I can't wait for this to actually come out.

That would be a very nice ability for creatures. They would simply ignore all terrain and their affects. Walls, of course would be different.

This wouldn't be terribly difficult for Jeff, but it could take a lot of time--and he may not find it worthwhile.

I. Perhaps Assassination should become a skill you receive after you have enough strength+pole+melee+dexterity?

How about Determination, which might let a character resist all effects with greater efficiency. You could have this skill kick in when the battle gets hot. (when characters have taken enough damage, dealt enough damage, or there are enough monsters fighting against you.) This skill would represent the ability to fight better in combat without having to make this a special ability.

II. I think a good spell would be a fireball which damages a 3x3 area. This would bring in a new feel to the game and make that spell very unique and potentially very powerful.

Even if 99.9% of online people are stupid, the scenarios created will be judged mainly by the smarter people(or so it seems.)

Stupid people's scenarios will remain stupid and no one will play a 1/10 rated scenario.

We should ENCOURAGE stupid people to buy the game--just to support Spidweb. If they make stupid scenarios we can ditch them. ;)

that is about right. For example, your max. chance for attacking in melee is 95%, usually. probably the same for resistances. My character had 180+% mind resistance, but he still got charmed. I didn't cheat like Strong Bad either. :P

That's interesting. no mod spots will be given out, but the only people who are mods aren't doing anything vaguely related to BoA (whoaa--deja vu) :P

But yeah, there is nothing to do. Except make graphics. Putting them on a site isn't so great, most anyone could do that. I mean ADoS is more quallified than TM. (that's a first:))

Ok people. Note:

Avernum graphics have outlines. This helps define the creatures better in any environment. I, happily, have been doing this with BoE graphics for years so it is nothing new. But if you want your graphics to have an Avernum look (not like the stupid giants in Avernum 3), you should make dark outlines on the creatures.

So far the terrains are terrific, and the creatures are neat--but add borders to them.
