Please note that resistance does not equal immunity. Thus, this is unlikely to change.

So, Strong Bad, did you use "Give Item/Knowledge Brew" or a HEX editor?

How are resistances calculated, when 1140% resistance still allows 3-30 damage?
Doesn't that seem just a little wierd?

Yes. Please do not do that again. It's completely unnecessary.

I believe resistances top out somewhere from 75%-90%.

that is about right. For example, your max. chance for attacking in melee is 95%, usually. probably the same for resistances. My character had 180+% mind resistance, but he still got charmed. I didn't cheat like Strong Bad either. :P

With 100% fire resistance, one of my characters occasionally took no damage from the fire golems' breath. Resistance probably lowers the range of damage that can be dealt. A very high resistance can't guarantee immunity, but you'll take far less damage.

—Alorael, whose lead character interestingly continued to take large amounts of damage from the ice golems despite having 60-80% cold resistance.

The game would be too easy if 100% resistance = immunity. Once you reach a certain threshold, raising resistance won't make a difference.

Mind crystals that give Energy Pulse are cursed. Just sell them.

—Alorael, who supposes that they release a pulse of energy into your mind and knock a few things loose. That's what you get for using mind-altering magical substances!

Perhaps resistance works like a curve and gets lower as your score gets higher, or maybe there's a measure put in by the programmers to stop people from doing what you did!

Alorael, are you comparing mind crystals to Skribbane herb? That actually gives me a good idea for a BoA scenario I've been considering (called Nightmare of the Sword Ghost Demon Banshee). I was thinking of making it a bad trip on a hallucinogenic skribbane derivative, but a suped up energy pulse crystal sounds even better!

Define 'Joke'. I'm seriously planning to make a scenario with that name, but the name is meant to be humorous, in the sense of poking fun at generic, cookie cutter, 'epic' scenario names.

Like me writing a story titled "Flight of the Doves" and it has absolutely nothing to do with doves.

...but they are cute.

Yep, that's about it. Though you could argue that that's the case with alot of the scenarios. Someone would probably manage to find a metaphor in there, if the scenario were popular enough.

Like Shakespeare (and anything else that schools make pupils study). They tell you theres all this meaning and stuff, but blatently the writers are just writing normal, nice (or incredibly depressing) stories/plays.

Well, it depends on the play in question. Some of shakespeare's tragedies are very good, and fully worthy of the reputations they have. On the other hand, most of the comedies are weak. As the reduced shakespeare company says 'the tragedies are funnier'. And don't even get me started on the apocrypha.
And now it's really time to steer this gratuitously off-topic conversation back to its original topic. My apologies.

There are some scenarios that make fun of the scenario format (Kill Ogre, Win Prize).

Not many, though. Parody is an insufficiently explored area. It's not necessarily the best format for a scenario of in the avernum/exile mythos, but it can still be very funny, and at least it's better than the 'cookie cutter epics'. This is not to say that epics are bad per se. I love the good, inspired one to death. Just that ones that lack individuality tend to be bad.
