I'm sorry? I didn't quite follow you there. Does it have something to do with M$ Paint? :P -------------------- Encyclopaedia • Archives • Members • RSS [Topic / Forum] • Blog • Polaris • NaNoWriMo Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair. Graur, Paint is the best tool available for creating BoA graphics, and other art. Also, I created another wallset, this time.. uhh, it isn't nice. I'll send it to you (Brett) anyway. -------------------- The Great Mister kommari@gmail.com Posts: 972 | Registered: Tuesday, October 28 2003 08:00 |

Meh, the e-mail bounced back.. Reason unknown, so I'll just put the graphics here. Weird, blue wall. Bah. Stonewall. I like it. You must like it too. Yet another dirt/desert terrain. Horray! As if there aren't enough dark terrains already.. A rock. What else is left to say? Oh, and put them under The Great Mister, will you. ;) -------------------- The Great Mister kommari@gmail.com Posts: 972 | Registered: Tuesday, October 28 2003 08:00 |

Those colored graphics are a real distraction. They shouldn't be part of the database. Who cares about Blue Goblins anyway? It takes 2 seconds to make the graphic. -------------------- Awesome BoA Graphics MSN: bleusoulilcercatore@hotmail.com AIM: Byzantine Jones Posts: 635 | Registered: Monday, October 15 2001 07:00 |

I agree completely. Simple color edits are worthless- I mean, come on. (If you do plan on making a color edit, make it like that "Death Drake" by Milla [I think], rather than the fifty billion color changes that are wasting space on the graphics archive.) -------------------- * Posts: 6936 | Registered: Tuesday, September 18 2001 07:00 |

quote:Bingo. That there is exactly why I'm, so hesitant to submit anything to the Louvre. It's clogged with dozens upon dozens of blatant color edits that add nothing to the database. Any graphic I might submit would be lost amongst the depressed "Blue Guards" and cowardly "Yellow Knights." Heck, it pissed me off that they did that in the -original- Avernum series with variants of different species being the exact same blasted graphic with a different tint. (See Zombie vs. Wight, Ice Drake vs. Drake, most the entire Slith race...) To me the fact remains that if you cannot figure out how to obtain the programs to do simple color edits like most of these happen to be, if you cannot learn the most basic of functions to make these color edits work, then there is no way you stand a chance of understanding the vast and complex scripting system of BoA in order to make any use of them anyways. I’m all for graphic -editing- but do something more than simply hitting “Colorize” or “Adjust hue, saturation, lightness”. Give it a different weapon, or maybe a shield. Throw a helmet on it, make it glow with magic magicalness, do SOMETHING. But anyone can do a brainless color edit. ---Your graphic maniac, Necris Omega -------------------- Razordisk Frisbee Golf Posts: 168 | Registered: Saturday, October 26 2002 07:00 |

I agree 100%. Color edits are a huge waste of space. Real edits are one thing, but just doing the same thing over and over again with a different color should not be accepted. A good edit would be the winged demons - those guys are great. Now Brett, I know your response will be: "But not everyone has the software to do color edits." Well, you can download this program called EasyPEG here: http://www.hnm-freeware.com/EasyPeg/ It can do color edits very easily, and is essentially freeware (registering gets you some extra features that you don't need). In fact, I suggest that if you remove the color edits you add a link to EasyPeg to your page for people who want to be able to easily edit the color. That seems like a reasonable compromise. Well, I could make two archives - one for color edits that's just a ZIP file for downloading, and another that contains only original artwork. I'll put up a poll. -------------------- All that we see, or seem, is but a dream within a dream.
